Yeah, yeah. It's just a hot dog joint... but it is AMAZING. Food: J Dawgs has been pumping out these "dawgs" for years, ever since their infancy on the SE corner of BYU campus. They've got a few locations now, and are still going strong because the food is just damn tasty - the secret sauce being the real star. A menu can't get much simpler than this. Beef or Polish dog, and then you pick from their list of extras: some pretty amazing special sauce, Sauerkraut, Jalapenos, relish, Onions, banana peppers, and...I think that's all. Add a drink & bag of chips to make it a meal for a couple more bucks. Service: Quick & friendly, what more can you ask for in a place like this? Atmosphere: The inside of the restaurant is clean & crisp, albeit pretty small. There are tables just outside, though, that are great when the sun is out. I'm guessing when there is cold, rain, or snow, people just get the food to go, because there is no way that the restaurant can fit all the customers. All in all, awesome. You should definitely check out J Dawgs if you're in the area. It may just be the best dawg this side of the Mississippi. read more

It's a hot dog. $8 for each hot dog... I feel like it's a decent price for a nice dog. I can go to Costco and get a dog for $1.50.. Anyway this isn't about the price. Its not hard at all to put toppings on a dog, or even cook the dog... I handed my 6 year old the receipt and had her read off to me the toppings I ordered... she knew how to read it and I was proud. Then I asked her, "What toppings are on the hot dog"?? She had told me "lots of lettuce (sauerkraut) and onions" and then you could hear the disappointment in her voice "and a little bit of sauce". Finally, I asked "well is there anything missing from the receipt and what on our hot dog"? She replied disappointed again "awww I didn't get my pickle and there's no sauce". She was a little sad, I comforted her, we had pickles and sauce in the fridge. I became the best dad. Then I told her I was very proud of her for being so smart. Already at the age of 6, I could tell she was going to be a lot more successful than the lazy employees at Jdawgs. Congrats guys, my 6 year old could do better. Lastly, I'm pretty sure they scraped my hot dog bun against the burner where all of the trash is. My bun had black residue on it. Imagine that. read more

The food at J Dawgs is always comforting to come to and is always easily enjoyed! You don't have to worry too much about the service, and the little that you do, it's good!! This spot is pretty great! The polish dawg itself is good sized and has an amazing flavor. Throw on your choice of toppings and you'll be hard pressed to find a better hot dog anywhere around. Wow! I ordered the 5-0 beef hot dog (as in Hawaii 5-0 because of sweet BBQ sauce with mayo). I love the grilled, sliced dawgs and fresh buns but they were MESSY. They offer coke and Pepsi drinks! But best of all, they have apple beer. Hopefully they will add more sides to their menu besides chips--coleslaw, macaroni salad, baked beans, ice cream and cookies. read more

Service was quick and they know how to move the line ! Overall good experience, I had two beef dawgs, I tried the special sauce on one very good a bit sweet but a nice touch. They offer ketchup and mustard but don't advertise it . The second Dawg I had mustard , onions , pickle and banana peppers . I enjoyed both very much definitely be back . The reason I'm giving 4 stars and not 5 is because the website says they sell fries but not at this location kinda of a bummer . Didn't quite know what to expect when our friend told us we NEEDED to stop here for a hot dog. Well, actually, I guess I could say that I didn't expect much. But I was really surprised by this place. It was absolutely packed when we stopped here on a Saturday night. The line was almost out the door. I couldn't believe that all these people were here just for a hot dog? It's astounding to me how slow this place is. It's literally hotdogs and condiments. The line is always out the door and feels like more of a sit down wait than a grab and go. My wife and I now have a tradition of going to the original J Dawgs in Provo after spending the day at Seven Peaks water park. The sauce differentiates a J Dawg from everything else; it's phenomenal! LEHI, UT: Heard J-Dawgs was good so we decided to stop by. Clean and modern ambience with the simplest menu around (Half as complicated as In N Out). Lots of chrome and aluminum. Simply put, it was a large, delicious, fire-grilled, all-beef hot dog on a fresh bread bun. They have a menu of a half dozen or so additional condiments: my favorites were the delicious special sauce (like a sweet barbecue) and fresh sour kraut. I got mine with special sauce, bell peppers, and sour kraut. Very good. I wanted to add more special sauce to my dog about half in, but they wanted me to bring my half-eaten dog back to the bar to accomplish this, rather than allowing me to take my own bottle. Note: take a play from barbecue joints and put out plentiful bottles of your own sauce with the ketchup and mustard. Make it easy for me to enjoy what you do best: Cubby's is across the street. J Dawgs is like a hot dog stand in the form of a restaurant. The menu is simple: beef hot dog or polish for $4 or make it a combo (chips and a drink) for $7. Place your order and then make your way through the queue and get your dog topped off. Condiments include J Dawg's special sauce (very tasty), onions, sauerkraut, banana peppers, jalapeños, and pickles. They also have mayo, celery salt, and relish by special request. So how was the food? I dare say J Dawgs serves up a very good polish. The polish had a great flavor, a nice spice, and was cooked to perfection with just a little char. I also really liked their Dirty Potato Chips, the jalapeño heat chips were very good. My only complaints were the ordering system was a little sluggish. After ordering we stood in line for about 10 minutes waiting for the J Dawg's crew to add condiments to the other customer's orders. I think they'd be better off asking what you want on your dawgs up front and then bringing them to your table when finished. My second compliant is that they didn't have grilled onions, but I heard an employee tell someone they'd be serving them soon. read more

Icame here and didn't like the food or the service. And you'll notice I rarely leave anything less than three stars. I don't see why JDawg's gets so much positive attention. I was underwhelmed by the lack of choice (beef hot dog or polish - that's it). And I'd at least expect more condiment options (how do you not have grilled onions for a hot dog?). I got diced onions on my polish dog and there were literally five small pieces of diced onions. I love J Dawgs! Their special sauce is amazing and so delicious. They have gluten free buns to accommodate those with allergies. They have tons of topping options as well. It used to be one of my go to places but recently, they have not been able to stock their gluten free buns consistently. I've gone 4 separate times in the last month and half and they are always out of gluten free buns. I understand that I'm lucky to have this as an option but it is somewhat frustrating to wait in line for a product that they advertise as having and then finding out that the product is almost always out of stock. read more

They give you good, plump dogs, lots of toppings, and great sauce. WHY DO WE HAVE TO PAY A DOLLAR EXTRA FOR A GROSS GLUTEN FREE BUN WE DON'T WANT?!? Two of us came to J Dawgs, STARVING, at 9:30pm (closes at 10:00pm) and they only had one white bun left. Cashier told us they did have gluten free buns left but we'd have to pay extra!! Why should we we have to play extra for 1. Management not stocking enough regular buns and 2.
