What does this store lack big time? CUSTOMER SERVICE. Yea its a very small rinky dinky hole in the wall store located at Kaimuki Shopping Center. They sell guns and ammo which are over priced and a very small selection at that. Why buy guns from here when you can go to the bigger stores here that actually have customer service and guns in stock so you can actually fell them and know what you are buying. Fishing section is a small section too. Nothing really special. I actually picked up an item from here that had a price tag on it but when purchasing it they said they had marked the price wrong and the price was higher. They would not even honor the price that was marked. At that point I said forget it but my son wanted it so I just paid the higher price. No Thank you nothing after purchase. Surprised this store still has customers and is still in business. I guess rent is cheaper on that side of the center. read more

I had heard good things about the staff at JHara from a friend and we went back to the store today. To say we were disappointed was an understatement. We spent close to $750 between the two of us and were the only people in the store. Either the "mgr" wasn't knowledgeable, or simply didn't care. He offered no advice when asked and mocked us if we had what he thought was a silly question about fishing tackle. Since they offer some kind of return policy, I'm tempted to take it all back and take my business somewhere else. I really didn't appreciate the tone, lack of care and lack of fun in making what should have been a fun experience. I'm calling the store to speak to a more senior person tomorrow and will likely be bringing all of my gear back. Too many other places to go, with nicer and more knowledgeable staff. It's a Bummer when a small biz puts their reputation in the hands of a mean and sad clown. read more

Terrible service. Short chubby asian guy needs to get some customer service lessons. Not very personable no smile, spent some dollars there and not even a "thank you " and right after my purchase someone then walked in and he told them hello with a smile. Always wanted to learn how to do archery. One of the workers, James, helped my wife & I to pick out a bow that would be fitted to us. He was very thorough, knowledgeable and so helpful. We've been back several times to repair a few things, James and the gang there are always welcoming and willing to help. I don't mind driving from Makakilo for this kind of service. You can always ask questions and the staff will set you right. They'll do the best they can to help you find what you need, and won't try and sell you overpriced crap or stuff you don't need. Aloha, I just wanted to send a quick note of praise for Bryce at the Kaimuki store. I recently visited him for help getting a small setup for my wife and I to start fishing as we haven't done any since we were kids and Bryce was extremely helpful. After just giving Bryce my budget and plans, he quickly helped me around collecting all the perfect items and thoroughly explained how to use them together. Couldn't ask for any better service than he provided. I will be back again soon for more gear and will happily recommend the store to anyone else looking for fishing gear. Great customer service. James quickly responded to my many questions over a couple of days regarding FFL transfers to the Mainland. Couldn't give a five star rating because ultimately, the store no longer does transfers for individuals, but he recommended a wonderful store that did and for that I am very grateful.
