New Pedicure Chairs Very Comfy
Jane L.

Been coming here for over a year. I do basic mani pedi - they always do exactly as I ask and are not over priced at all. I have also had gel services and they are equally as good. I went in today and they have all new chairs that are extremely comfortable and look great. The location is convenient for me and I usually don't have to wait and if I know I am going at a busy time I call for an appointment. I definitely recommend for a quick in and out.

TLDR: $35 for a classic pedicure seems to be the cheapest in the area and it's average service, so you get what you pay for. Overall, I'd recommend. Detailed review: Let me preface by saying I'd rate it a 3.5-3.75 if I could be specific. Aesthetics wise, it's a beautiful salon! My husband and I were getting classic pedicures and the massage chairs were elegant, comfortable and functional so I couldn't ask for better in regards to that. I liked that the chairs had a built in massage controller instead of the remote attached by a cord. The only thing that could make these chairs better was if there was a heat function. We were immediately offered drinks upon sitting down. I didn't know my options, but we both just asked for water and were given generous 16oz bottles, which was awesome. Moving onto the service... we were greeted warmly when we entered. I had made the appointment an hour ago via phone and they were pleasant. I picked out my color (not a gel) and they directed us to our chairs. They wrap the basin with plastic which I appreciate for cleanliness purposes. For both me and my husband, I didn't see with my own eyes them unwrapping new tools, but the tools they used on our feet did appear fresh/clean. Even though we stated we just want the classic pedis, they still gave us a menu and tried to upsell to one of the deluxe options. Throughout the pedi, my woman tried to upsell me to gel which I politely declined. Then she asked if I was going to get my eyebrows waxed, I politely declined and said I have a spot that I over plucked and I'm waiting for the hair to grow out before I touch them again. She then stated yeah, I can see where it's messed up, that's why I offered. I didn't really enjoy that flaw being pointed out, but I don't think she had malicious intentions. I chose a shimmery pink color that reflected purple in the sun. When she put it on by itself, it was so light you couldn't tell I had anything on so she asked if I still wanted it. I wasn't sure so she graciously took the reigns and grabbed this pretty solid pink as a base and said we could layer them, which is the result you see below and I thought that was a great idea. I will say she only did one layer of the pink base and one layer of the shimmery coat before doing clear polish to seal it and I wish she had done more. On my left foot (pictured), the big toe doesn't have the best coverage with the pink and the tip isn't fully painted.... After she did that, she just told me to wait for it to dry and started a manicure on another patron (which I have no problem with). Even though he was finished, they allowed my husband to stay in the chair next to me since they weren't busy. What I didn't like was after telling me to just let it dry, nobody gave us any further direction so after 30 minutes, I stood up and asked if we can pay and leave, which prompted another employee to cash us out. I don't really know what's normal with pedicures because I don't get them often, but I thought it was weird they didn't follow up after finishing painting. I assumed they used the UV light thing to dry pedicures, but maybe that's only with gel, so no points docked there. One other thing to note is they don't use toe separators if you need them, just a piece of paper towel snaked between your toes. Also, no fake little flip flops. I had to put my crocs back on (no biggie, just not what I'm used to). Ultimately, the primary reason it doesn't get 5 stars for me is a) the paint coverage/thoroughness and b) being left with no direction other than wait for 30 minutes. I'd still go back to give them another shot, especially if I was planning to get a bigger service than just a classic pedicure.

Mimi- did my toes Julie's husband- did my nails This was my first time and I loved it, the flow of this place was so nice. I felt great afterwards, everything went at a natural pace. The customer service is great! Everyone was nice and made small talk, lots of laughs and smiles I came with my cousin, who's a regular for over a year now and she said they're always so nice. I will be back in two weeks Update: 9/25/21 Back again and happy as ever! I got another fall style Julie's husband is my go to for my nails and I found my pedi-queen kaylee! Me and my baby girl got ours done and we are both so happy with how accurate and professional our pedicures were handled. Needless to say, I'm going to be a regular now.

The customer service is always friendly, the place is clean and neat. I arrived at 4:30 on a Wednesday and the wait wasn't too long. HOWEVER my nails are just not done well, very mediocre, actually poorly done. I keeping going back because the shop is close to my house and convenient. I've only had one set of nails that looked nice. The service is way overpriced. Paying $100 for a full set and pedicure, I expect beautiful nails. I'm usually a really good tipper I feel cheated when I tip on top of over inflated prices AND I'm not satisfied, the nails are just bad. I'm hoping to find a better shop nearby.

Always friendly and very attentive when we visit them for a pedicure for me, and mani/pedi for the wife. This is the only place we come to when we need to get our hands and feet maintenance. The prices are also considerably lower than a lot of other shops as well. Great environment, friendly and thorough, J Nails is a great salon to visit!!

At times, the attitudes can feel a bit harsh, but the owners are very sweet and professional. Just keep in mind that they do not take walk-ins close to closing, even for simple services, so it's best to plan ahead. Overall, it's a good nail salon in the area, and I love that they offer drinks like wine, soda, or water during your service.

I went in with my 5-year-old daughter, three teenage sisters, and my stepmom to celebrate my birthday with manicures and pedicures. I called ahead to book the appointment, and Mimi was fantastic in organizing everything to ensure we were all set. Upon arrival, I was immediately impressed by how clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed the salon was. The staff wore matching uniforms, the towels were embroidered with the business name, choice of vitamin-infused salt bath for your pedicure, and there was even a mini bar set up for special events. We were given choices of water, tea, coffee, juice, wine or champagne (I ordered a mimosa of course!). It was clear they take great pride in their space and service. However, there were some issues that affected our experience. My daughter's manicure and pedicure started to disintegrate after just two days, which was disappointing. I took her back to have it redone, and while the staff was accommodating, it was still a hassle. My shellac manicure, which I've had done many times without issue, also started lifting and chipping after just one week, which was unusual for me since I'm used to it lasting 3-4 weeks with no problems. What really added to the frustration was the delay in my stepmom's service. She had trouble with her technician, who wasn't familiar with shellac, and after everyone else was finished, we had to wait for someone else to redo hers. This pushed us over an hour late for our birthday lunch in Uptown and set off a domino effect, causing us to be late for the rest of our planned events. The service was great, the salon's cleanliness and atmosphere were top-notch, and the staff was friendly and professional despite these setbacks. I'm willing to give Alo Nail Salon another shot as it may have just been an off day, especially knowing I've had shellac manicures last for weeks in the past and not to assume 2 hours would be enough for a mani/pedi. I'd recommend it with a bit more caution and extra communication next time--especially if you have a hard stop for time-sensitive plans.

Previously, I'd been with my technician for 20+ years. I was referred to Vintage Nail Bar in Charlotte. Even though there were many salons closer to my new home, I went to see Steven based on this recommendation. I was not disappointed! He was so nice, friendly, and on time for my appointment. The salon was spacious and clean. My husband had a pedi with Vin and said he was great, too. There was another technician there, Pim, who seemed so kind - always smiling at incoming customers. I understand she does a great job with builder gel and will try her, too, in case Steven isn't available. For reference I am over 60 years young () and wanted a natural looking nail, thin on the sides and top. I'm so happy to have found this nail salon!

Kelly was my technician and she did a fantastic job. She was meticulous in the preparation of my nails for polish. She gave a very relaxing foot and lower leg massage, as well. Her polish application was perfect and she gave each coat time to dry. The result was a mani/ pedi that should last for a long time. It's already been three days with a lot of gardening and dish washing, and my hands still look perfect. Usually several nails would be showing signs of wear by now. I'm super happy and will definitely be back soon. I may have found my new "go-to" nail salon. Note: the place was busy on this Thursday afternoon. I'm glad I had an appointment.
