Went here based on previous reviews and was very disappointed. We went as a group of ladies celebrating two birthdays and two mommies to be and hoping to be pampered. First of all, for a 60 dollar pedicure, I expect a true spa experience. They had no hot water(said they ran out) and were filling the foot basins up with water heated on a stove, which got cold very quickly. The bench style seating was uncomfortable and I felt too close to the stranger sitting next to me. As a pregnant woman I expected a great foot/leg rub and definitely didn't get that either. Halfway thru she was already telling me where I should move after she was done so she could have the chair for the next person. Would definitely not go back. I never write reviews but I was so angry with their policy that I felt compelled. I scheduled a Pedi and was told that I would need to cancel 24 hrs. in advance or be charged 15%. I had no intention of cancelling however my sitter canceled leaving me know choice but to cancel. I called 21 hrs. before my app to cancel, the receptionist was rude and short with me and said I would be charged 50% of the service price! for no service! Originally I was told 15% but obviously I heard wrong. Its not like I called an hour before while the nail tech was waiting for me! I realize that people need to keep their appointments but I feel that charging clients 50% is very excessive for no service rendered, I will not be returning. read more

I'm a spa snob -- I will admit it -- having lived all over the world and being privileged to have had pretty amazing spa experiences. J Lounge is not in a fancy hotel or tucked into a mountain canyon, etc... it's on the corner of a little Boulder strip mall. HOWEVER, the attitude, services and ethos are equally as good as a fancy-schmancy hotel, spa, retreat center, resort, etc. Actually perhaps better in the sense that the staff and aestheticians are so friendly, cheerful, kindly and efficient! I have only had waxing and pedicures (so far); however, I liked it enough to take my elegant daughter back there, and one of my more glamorous Boulder friends has given me a birthday gift certificate there -- both telling. In addition to the great services, they have lovely teas on offer for clients before their service; they also offer beautiful body products and artists'jewelry, etc. for purchase. It isn't Malibu or Tuscany, fine -- but the view of the mountains from the pedicure bank of seats can be pretty engaging, especially while having a great foot & leg massage! Definitely check it out while in Boulder. read more

I highly recommend J Lounge! Just got home from a fantastic pedicure and couldn't be happier. Probably the best pedicure i've ever gotten. I went for the "more pedi" $60 but with the first time customer coupon got $10 off. Not bad. My feet looks like new - all buffed and amazing. I love that they use natural / organic products and it doesn't have that stinky nail salon smell. The decor is lux and fabulous. Highly recommend! read more

I went here for a Bachelorette party and had a decent experience. I like the clean ambiance and environment. It was easy to relax while waiting and they were incredibly accommodating. The waiting area was comfortable and quiet. My only issue with Jlounge was that my nail technician was a little harsh. She continued to make comments about my very dry cuticles, that my job needed to be to drink lots of water before leaving. It got worse when she said that I was fighting her while she was doing my nails and that I needed to relax more. I felt like I was very relaxed and it made me super stressed when she continued to tell me that I was not relaxed and also told others in our party that I wasn't relaxed. She also spent about 5 minutes complaining about her horrible sunburn on her back. I think she was trying to connect but at that point I felt a little done with the whole process. After my nails were done, she asked if I could possibly sit and relax for 10-15 minutes for my nails to dry. I am a nice person, so I laughed the whole awkwardness off... But it was not only uncomfortable for me but also for the others in our party who picked up on it as she continued to make really weird and sometimes rude comments to me. All of the other nail techs were super sweet and helpful. I would definitely go back if I were in Boulder, but I would want to make sure not to get the same person again. read more

It's really sad. I wanted to like this place. I planned a bachelorette party and the girls were excited about going here. I booked about 3 months before the party. 7 girls, private party. A girl named Kelsey said we had 4 appts then 3 appts 1 hour later. I called 1 week prior to confirm and Adriana told me we had 7 appointments over the span of 5 hours. I would have never booked this as obviously that is our entire day of a 1 day bachelorette party. Adriana tried to help and I really appreciate it. This was a huge disappointment as we were getting nails done for the wedding. Luckily we were able to book elsewhere. read more

As much as I wanted to love the experience I can't say that I did. Your salon is adorable and I love the fact that you use natural products. However, the technician's service was not worth the amount of money I paid. I would have no issue spending the amount I did if the quality was better. I had nail polish on my skin from both my mani and pedi that I had to remove when I got home. I am going to have to get my finger nails redone as the gel is lumpy and not smooth. My gel mani only lasted 3 days. I am truly disappointed. The technician complained that her wrist was hurt. If someone is injured and can't perform quality work, the customer should have the option for a new technician. I do feel bad that she was injured and still had to work. She was super patient with me and the fact I had my newborn with me but I just wish the quality of pedicure and manicure were better. - I sent my feedback to the salon before posting here and never heard back. read more

My sister and I had "more mani/More pedis" at the J Lounge last week. Jesse and Emma were our techs and they were wonderful! The spa has a lovely atmosphere. Let me start by saying I NEVER write reviews...but I feel so compelled to share my awesome experience at JLounge this week. I have had a few pedicures there over the past year -- all impeccable and of the highest quality and service -- so I was already a fan of the beautiful and chic spa. But this week, I was over the top impressed with our experience. My daughter just turned 10 and wanted nothing more than to go to a "real spa" with her girlfriends for mani / pedis. I hate the chemical smells and products used at most nail spas, and was especially conscious of that for young girls. Knowing that JLounge uses all natural and organic products, I decided to book the "Little Lounger" package for the girls. It includes a mini mani & pedi and a sweet make up touch at the end (beautifully and simply done, by the way -- totally child appropriate -- using pure, all natural make up). From the moment we walked in, the girls were made to feel like stars! The place smells of rose and jasmine essential oils... so lovely! The girls were offered orange infused water and pretty little cookies, and took their time selecting their polish colors and sparkle overlays. They then got to choose which essential oil-scented bath salts they wanted in their foot tub -- they had 3 different scents, all shaped like flowers, and handmade by one of the JLounge aestheticians, Keva. They were even given their own little specially wrapped gifts to take home, including these beautiful handmade bath salts). I have to say that the entire staff went ABOVE and BEYOND at every step! All in, this was an incredible experience and an amazing value for a little girls' spa day. All the women were awesome with the girls, but I must give a special shout out to the owner, Jen, for the extra special service and attention she gave us. I was so impressed I even booked a stem-cell facial with her for next week. I cannot wait! I learned a lot about their new stem cell products and technology, and am looking forward to trying this. I will write another review after that service... In the meantime, if you are looking for an extra special treat for yourself, a friend or family member, do not hesitate to give JLounge a try. The place is so chic and gorgeous, the staff and service are impeccable, the products are all natural and organic, they offer a wealth of knowledge around their skin care lines, make up and services... and, most importantly, you will truly feel so pampered. I don't even want to give this place a single star; it was so awful! I got there and the smell of the place was so awful it gave me a headache. I got a manicure/pedicure with vinylux polish for prom. The massages were great but within 3 hours of getting my nails done, THEY WERE ALREADY CHIPPING. 30 minutes before we were supposed to take pictures I had to go back and get them touched up again!! They looked fine for the pictures, but were already chipping by the end of the night. EXTREMELY OVERPRICED and pretty awful quality. The very next day, I got a refund and went to Alexan Nails (Foothills and Baseline) and had a gel manicure and pedicure done and 3 weeks later it still looks amazing. I will never go back. read more

I always look forward to treating my daughter to an indulgence each time I visit Boulder. I looked forward to J Lounge based on her first experience there. This time, it was a disappointment. Neither one of us looked down at our nails and said, "Beautiful!" as we should have after spending more than I have EVER spent for mani-pedi...and I live in Boston. Then less than a week later, both of us were experiencing "nail fail." I would never have posted a review except my daughter, who spent too much time with a number of communications with the business was promised a cash refund (I paid in cash), was handed a gift certificate when she went back. Clearly, I have NO intention of taking a chance on a return trip to this business when I only visit once every couple of months, so I was very appreciative that they offered a cash (partial) refund. This was the final disappointment for me and probably an embarrassment for my daughter. We are gifting the certificate to a friend...and have fingers crossed for a better experience for her. read more

First off, this place is very cute. The employees are friendly, and overall it has a better vibe than most nail-salons. I had read reviews and compared to other places in Boulder, J Lounge seemed the cleanest. I thought I'd splurge here BECAUSE of the cleanliness (I have a hard time with the idea of nail salons). The pedicure was relaxing and I love the porcelain tubs. BUT as my manicure started I saw that the woman doing my nails had a wart on her finger. PLEASE make your employees wear gloves when they're messaging and exfoliating. I was immediately off-put thinking about how she had just rubbed my legs. As a hypochondriac looking for a clean place I can trust, I almost walked out. Thought I'd share so someone could fix this. Obviously gloves or bandages would get in the way of painting the nails, but while messaging and etc., I can't imagine why she wouldn't have covered it. I was a client at J Lounge for quite some time. When I originally started going there the service was excellent and the gel manicures lasted easily two, if not three weeks. Over time, the gels began to last less and less time, often beginning to peel after only 2 -3 days. They insisted it was something that I had done in caring for my nails after the appointment and would offer a discount on the next manicure. When they weren't blaming me and asking questions about my manicure care, they would blame specific nail techs for poor work, though I saw different people with the same results. I work during the week, so my time is incredibly valuable. To take time to come in for them to redo the manicure(s), as it was several on a repeated basis, was not acceptable as the reason for gels was so I would spend less time in the salon, not more. I have no problem paying for quality and would willingly do so if their services were up to standards. A few months ago, I switched salons. At the new salon the gels easily last two to three weeks. I asked them about the polish issue I repeatedly had at J Lounge and have since spoken with other nail techs at different locations. They consistently state that over diluting or thinning the gels will cause that issue. I would have accepted an apology from J Lounge, but after hearing them blame their own staff and me, I was out of their excuses. I would never return there for service unless I wanted a bare manicure and buff and polish. I would never trust their gels and I certainly wouldn't overpay for a bad gel manicure. read more
