I was soooo disappointed with my nails and the service! I got a pedicure and a full set. The First Lady doing my toes got very upset with me and was so rude when I asked her to fix my toes. She kept going over it with more nail polish making it looked globbed on and only worse you can see the strokes of the brush as well. She didn't apologize and left made me feel so uncomfortable then another girl came in to finish my toes she did a much better job and fixed them. I thought she was going to be able to turn the situation around but was wrong. She started doing my nails and suggested some different colors so I tried it. I thought I had liked it but then asked her if we could change it. She then got very aggressive pulling her drawer out and slamming things as if I had inconvenienced her and was doing me a favor. At the end I asked for a discount or for them to completely fix the nails and I would pay full price. She never apologized to me I told her how uncomfortable I felt. I was never rude to them I just didn't like the way my nails looked and I am paying for a service. She did fix my nails and I ended up paying full price since she did try to fix it but I'm so disappointed they look so chunky and gross they aren't even filled in correctly. I wanted all white nails and my ring finger marbled they said they could do that and I saw they could from their reviews and that's why I chose to come to j nails. He ended up just making a black line on my nail so I said nvm just do them all white. Almost every single one of my nails were crooked and had bubbles and my fingers were cut all around them so I told him I just wanted a refund and they did that for me and said they had told take them off which is fine they had me sitting there for 45 minutes with my hands burning from all the cuts in a bowl of the acrylic remover. My nails were not painted well at all. Super uneven edges. Clear coat was not put on the entire nail. And when asked to redo, they still did not do a good job. I did enjoy the hot stone massage but the actual application of nail polish. Horrible. read more

I wish we had not stopped at J's. :( Arrived at J's and ask if they had time for two mani pedi's, the guy jumped at "yes!" Okay, I get my elderly mom out of the car and we go in and sit with our feet in the water while we wait.........two girls showed up. Hopefully, they were licensed. My moms toenails are cut SO short they hurt still! She is so fragile the last thing she needs is another thing to hurt. I told the girl, "Please do not cut my mom's toenails too short, or she will get ingrown toenails." (we haven't had that problem in about 2 years or so. ) She cut them beyond short! The nerves under the nails are exposed. Ouch! I have the skin removed from the sides of my feet. The pumice stone took off the baby soft sensitive area on the SIDES close to my ankle bone. I have expensive bandaids and tending to serious injuries on the sensitive side areas of both my feet(not heels)...and my mom is in pain. Super confused about my trip here. I didn't even get my nails done, I wanted to get a gift certificate for a coworker who goes here. We got a gift card to use to get little gifts for our management staff to show appreciation for hard work. I went in and asked for a gift certificate and was told to have a seat and waited for a few minutes until some guy came in. Apparently he is the only one who was able to do this transaction? I went to pay for it with the Amex card, he asked if I had cash. I told him no, and asked if they accepted cards and he said they did. I handed him the card and he asked if I had a different card and I told him no and asked if they accepted Amex, and again he said that they did and took the card... Okay so why did you ask for different payment both times if there was no problem? Super strange if you ask me, and no explanation about questions either. This is the best nail salon! The prices are really good $35 for a full French set, a pedicure is only $25 the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. They take appointments or walk ins are always welcome. The establishment is always clean and does not stink like some places. read more

I mean this place isn't the WORST but it comes to a close second. I don't feel comfortable or welcome in here at all. When it comes to paying they make it clear that they are upset if you don't have cash and that it's a hassle for them that you have a debit/ credit card. I was getting an acrylic set and all the chemicals were burning my fingers so bad!! I told the lady but she didn't seem to care. I have never had such a painful expierence before and I get acrylic sets done almost every two weeks. She suggested using two colors which turned out very nice. The salon is very clean and I saw they use good sanitary methods when cleaning the spa chairs. Dan is super knowledgeable and friendly. The salon offers a lot of gel color options, like chrome and cat eye colors that other salons do not have. They can usually accommodate a walk in within 15-30 minutes. Only negative thing is during the pedicure, they float the used supplies in the water while my feet are soaking. They did not do a very thorough job and the nail polish was all over the sides of my nails. Some of my nails even didn't have enough polish on them. My cuticles were very haphazardly trimmed and they looked worse than when I came in. The polish was also very bubbly and not very well put on. I did enjoy the massage but that was only about 30 seconds. The workers were nice but all in all they need to step up their service. He was very aggressive with the file as well. But he painted one nail and it seemed very light versus what I chose. The number matched but the color was pink, not burgundy. I was very kind about mentioning it, but wow, I think his world ended. He started speaking his native tongue and stood up. Saying who knows what.
