We stopped in after a concert at Fenway for a sweet treat. Good service, clean store, and delicious frappe! There were so many good sounding sundaes and ice cream flavors on the menu but I wanted something easy to walk with so I got a Nutella Frappe. They offered a different base than vanilla but I stuck with the classic. Would have it again!

Delicious ice cream, friendly service, clean shop, great location! Always a good experience at any JP Licks location!

JP Licks on Boylston Street was straight! We came here about an hour before close & the workers were attentive + made our order with the quickness. We ordered our usual two smoothies, one strawberry & one raspberry. The smoothies are made with yogurt AND I'VE LITERALLY BEEN OBSESSED. it just hits every time, I don't know... I will forever get their smoothies! Parking: It can be kind of tough finding parking in this area. If the spots right in front aren't open, you may luck out finding a spot on Mass Ave. For us, we parked on Newbury St and walked over.

Right next door to down under yoga, so we got a nice post class smoothie!!! Razz and strawberry smoothies, always creamy, yogurt, smooth blended drink. Space has tables and seating to hang out and have ice cream, drinks and hang with new friends or just in and out. Quick and easy, parking is usually tough for the area but i suppose the college Boston area has many folks whom are commuting and walking anyways. There are paid lots and newbury street/ Boylston street meters if you are lucky to find a spot down couple of blocks though!

I am a huge fan! The vegan flavors are so good especially the Madagascar vanilla. They also let you try any flavors you might like. It is super "cutseyyyy" for date night or after dinner. Line moves quick. They have outdoor seating but the tables were kind of dirty so I would stay inside. 10/10!!

Just a quick stop in to grab some of Bostons best hot chocolate! Cake here right after checking out the Yelp elite experience at Union park pizza on Newbury street. Service was quick and friendly! Hot chocolate was delicious as always- hubs and just shared one - it was gone so fast lol! Good music and ambiance. They have a couch seating on one wall now which makes it cozy. Cute place - we've been here several times and always get the hot chocolate. Definitely recommend!

This ice cream chain is a reliable dessert spot in Boston. Every time I've been here the service is awesome and the flavors are super tasty. I opted for a scoop of pistachio in a cup and I loved it! The consistency was great and it was the perfect amount to indulge and satisfy my sweet tooth. The inside was very clean and quiet when I went in the evening. This could make for a good spot to have a tasty treat with a friend or small group.

J.P. Licks is a classic option for ice cream in Boston, and I love the variety of flavors they always have. The frozen yogurt I've had is good flavor-wise, but the consistency is a bit freezer burnt so not my favorite. But, the apple pie flavor in the fall is a MUST! Most recently, I had the butterscotch oatmeal cookie batter. It was delicious, jam packed with mix-ins. The butterscotch chips were good, but I think having them rippled would have enhanced the butterscotch. If I'm not feeling any of the seasonal flavors, my go-to is usually peanut butter cookies and cream. Everyone is very polite, and there's ample seating inside and outside. It's always great!

I liked this place it wasn't busy and there was a good selection on the menu. There was outdoor seating and indoor, the service was good and the scoops weren't too small. Clean on the inside as well.

Oh how I enjoy JP Licks! Every time I stop by here I'm never disappointed... it's a solid choice for ice cream. Will it blow your socks off? Probably not, but it's consistent and will leave you satisfied. I ordered a small sundae with two scoops, which included two toppings and complimentary cherries and whipped cream. For the price of about $8, this was a bit steep, but it was enough to share between me and my partner. I also really love how much seating this place has, it's a comfy spot to hang out even when the weather is cold.

So classic, there are people here even when it's so cold you can't feel your hands. There's something for everyone and there's hot chocolate so you can get something to warm up as well.

There's nothing better than your neighborhood JP Licks! Specifically, I love this location. The set-up is unique being a college campus location, so there is plenty of seating, both inside and outside. Including, comfy lounge couches that provides the "cafe" element. I came at 9:30 on a Friday night and it was not too busy. I got through the line in under 3 minutes with welcoming service. The only thing I guess I forgot was that it costs an extra $1 for toppings! Always a classic!

Definitely a great place to stop to cool down in the summer heat. We got a cone, ice tea, and 2 smoothies. All made to order. Smoothie was tasty and had real fruit.

I went with two scoops, black raspberry and brownie chocolate, and the brownie was killer. Rich, chocolatey, and totally worth standing outside in 30 degree weather to eat it. I devoured it without hesitation. There were so many great flavor options, and my friends all found something they loved too. It felt like one of those classic, must-stop dessert spots. Cold, delicious, and just the right amount of chaotic fun... it was wicked good.

Just had a really odd experience at this location…read more I ordered a small cup of a special flavor (sticky toffee pudding). The server asked if I wanted any toppings. I said, "Yes please, I'd like M&Ms." The server, and another person working behind the counter, both told me that they just ran out of M&Ms. They didn't have any more. This was weird to me. As I was walking to the the shop, I passed a person who had a small cup of ice cream with both m&m's and oreo topping. Okay, I thought. That's weird but so be it. Then, I scootch over to look at the rest of the toppings and what do I see? M&Ms. I point out the M&M's to the employee and ask, "hey, aren't those M&M's?" They mumbled something back that I didn't exactly catch. They either said "those are closed" or "those are skittles" or "it's not those". "those are closed" makes no sense because they asked if I wanted toppings and it was 2 and a half hours before they closed. "those are skittles" makes no sense because they don't carry skittles as a topping... The whole experience was perplexing to me. Anyways, JP Licks is pretty overrated and too expensive. $6.5+ for the smallest size is not worth it. They have some decent flavors (cookies n' cake batter) though and the ice cream is usually pretty well executed and not icy. still, not really a place i'd recommend and won't be going back for a while after this freak incident. Attached photos are the proof that they had M&Ms. Note the "M" on the candy and the blue colored candies (they don't make blue skittles)

I do not go out for coffee much anymore due to the convenience and cost effectiveness of a Breville and am often frustrated paying over $5 for mediocre coffee, but flour cafe was not in this boat. Even better was the fact that these drinks were served by someone with a warm spirit and smile.. hard to get great service these days. We weren't sure how to enter, so we started in the bookstore and found their convenient elevator downstairs! The restaurant is tiny but cozy, which is the perfect atmosphere for a book store! We sat outside in the little courtyard and it's a mix of magical and relaxing! There were only a few tables, so it wasn't overcrowded and with nice weather, it was perfect. I had a salad with salmon on the side which was delicious - and the ginger lemonade - wonderful! From buttered noodles to seafood, everything was executed well. The staff didn't rush us even though they were busy - and they had to give really long wait times to a number of others, but we still weren't rushed. I would highly recommend reservations, but even without we were treated very well. Pricing was in line with city pricing - and the food was extremely high quality and produce was lovely - not a shriveled lettuce leaf in sight. Beacon Hill Books and Cafe is a three story independent bookstore set inside a townhouse on Beacon…read moreHill, and the physical space does as much work as the inventory in making it worth a visit. We walked into a building with the kind of architectural character that chain bookstores cannot manufacture, with small rooms opening into each other across multiple floors, wallpapered walls, and reading nooks distributed throughout that invite you to slow down rather than move through quickly. The book selection is well curated with staff recommendation cards on the shelves that actually reflect genuine enthusiasm rather than perfunctory notes. We saw limited edition hardcovers and local and regional titles appearing alongside the broader fiction and nonfiction selection. Browsing felt productive rather than overwhelming because the curation kept things focused. The kids section upstairs is one of the more delightful in Boston, with a train running along a track near the ceiling that tends to make a strong impression on younger visitors. There is also an art print vending machine on the second floor that draws its own audience of visitors looking for something small and specific to take home. The cafe occupies the lower level and operates as a separate experience from the bookshop above. We ordered the oat milk cappuccino with Vermont maple syrup, which was worth it. The morning glory scone and the popovers are two other items to consider. The cafe is tiny, around eight tables inside with a small patio, and reservations are recommended for breakfast and afternoon tea service. Pricing at the cafe is on the higher end, and certain fixed price service formats on specific dates push it considerably further, so checking current pricing before booking is worth doing. For a bookshop that doubles as a destination in its own right, Beacon Hill Books and Cafe delivers a cozy, curated experience that rewards lingering. It is the kind of place we would return to just to sit and read with a good coffee.
