You get miso soup with your lunch special and the hwe dub bab is very similar to "poke" and bibimbap but everything is more deconstructed (rice on the side, sauce on the side). The fish is all on a bed of veg and looks very bibimbap-like, with a twist (raw seafood). You get a really good portion of different sashimi. We also tried the Usuzukuri appetizer, which is Fluke sashimi with special sauce and roe. Husband got the rolls. Super duper reasonably priced and tastes fresh! The restaurant is owned by a cute Korean couple. Felt very homey. We went back to order food for dinner for the fam. Unagi-don is yummers - the eel and unagi sauce is great. Wish there was more sauce to soak the rice underneath cuz that stuff is addicting. The combo platter is so beautifully put together. Was a huge hit with the family!

It has 6-7 tables so it can accommodate 20ish customers at any one time. Parking is available either on the street or in a lot a few steps from the restaurant.

And something we didn't realize that this place does, that many other Omakase places don't do, is make their sauces in house to pair with the fish. A huge unique selling point of this place was at each sauce was separately made and stored in different containers to pair with the fish it was intended for... The mackerel was really good and not fishy at all as well. The Hokkaido scallop Cucumber roll was very simple, but packed a huge bunch of flavor when you dipped it in the spicy sauce that it was paired with alongside a soy sauce wasabi combo. You could taste the quality and freshness. I was drinking a glass of sparkling wine... The wine was fine before I had the sushi... But drinking a sip while eating my sushi totally changed my palette as the sparkling wine paired so well that it became sweet. The employee attempted to explain the timing on my receipt, but I pointed out that the estimated pickup time had already passed and that I was simply looking for an accurate status update. She went to the kitchen to check and returned with the receipt again, at which point it became clear that my order had not even been started. After waiting nearly an hour from the time I placed my order, I asked for it to be canceled and left. Unfortunately, this is not the first time this has happened when I've ordered takeout from this restaurant. I completely understand that restaurants get busy, especially during peak dinner hours, but if the kitchen cannot keep up with both dine-in and online orders, it would be much better to temporarily disable online ordering until the backlog is under control. Other nearby restaurants, such as Okinami, do exactly that to avoid long waits and frustrated customers. The food has always been decent, but it is simply not worth waiting almost an hour for a takeout order--especially when the order hadn't even been started and I was repeatedly told it would only be "a few more minutes." I would much rather be given an honest estimate upfront than continue waiting without any meaningful update. Better communication and better management of online orders would go a long way toward improving the customer experience.
