Bbq pork platter, Cucumber salad and veg casserole

[[HIGHLIGHT]]As we walked in the age of the place is very apparent, it could use a refreshing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had a bbq pork sandwich, my wife the bbq pork platter. It was okay, was surprised to see my sandwich was wrapped, probably assembled earlier in the day. The sides were lacking seasoning, the greens needed some pork or something. The Brunswick stew was like it had been blended smooth destroying the vegetables and pulverizing the meat. It's a style I've had before but don't care for. The waitress had a gruff attitude but was efficient. We won't be back.

Ok guys this place here... where do I start. On yesterday sept 17 2023 I arrived at restaurant for dinner and wasn't impressed. I started with the onion rings and they were delicious. I ordered the 2 meat plate brisket and ribs with sides of baked beans and potato salad. Brisket was very dry and paper thinly sliced. Ribs and sliced brisket lacked a smoky flavor leading me to believe the bbq is cooked in an oven. The baked beans were just ok, and the potato salad was just flat out not good! The service is also slow. Parking is good and place is clean... Will I be making a return visit.? Methinks not...

Parking: large lot, easy to park. Service: sat us immediately. Good job staying on top of refills, taking our order. Prompt for sure. Drinks: fountain. All good Barbecue: not the best. I would not order the brisket again. Dry and tough. The bottom was black, so I'm guessing they reheated it on a frying pan or something. No real flavor. Pork. Ok, average. Not great, but I'd order it again. Sides: greens were pretty good. The stew was good as well. Service is good, prices are good, but there's nothing outstanding about the pork or brisket.

A great old fashioned breakfast and brunch establishment, that serves it up to order.

Service was terrible. Beef brisket was like shoeleather. My wife's chicken was overcooked and small portion. Took forever to get food.

The food was inedible. Dry meat and the flavor of the sides was horrendous. The only thing that was good was their banana pudding.

Food was overpriced for what we had for breakfast. Tons of seating and pleasant staff. Not many options in the location.

The inside is on the smaller side but in a cozy sense. Immediately upon entering we were greeted and welcomed. The staff were very friendly and inviting. They recommended items and explained them to us. Parking was easy at the time we went but can get tricky as the day goes on. We were there in the early am so it wasn't packed thankfully. When they delivered the food I was a tad shocked by the presentation. My potatoes, eggs and bacon came delivered on a metal pizza pan with parchment paper. Now it threw me off because I've never seen that and I expected it on a plate. The potatoes had been soaking in grease that didn't appear clean as the potatoes were tiny cut and dark. They also simply tasted of grease. The eggs were scrambled with not much to be desired and the bacon was good. The meal left me underwhelmed and needing to go get an actual meal after we left. Also the utensils were plastic. The experience gave more of food truck vibes than cute little cafe. I had a smoothie which I enjoyed. Although I don't after that I would come back if I did it would only be for a beverage. I was confused because I remember seeing the menu and it mentioned scrum-did-dly-ump-tious so I thought it would be a more southern well seasoned country style and it was more bland fast food style.

The decor is bright, airy and modern without feeling overdone it makes the space feel welcoming and easy to sit back and enjoy good conversation for hours. Waitress didn't seem to know menu well and stumbled over questions asked. Menu available via QR code only, and we had 1 phone at table, so had to share phone around. Also very noisy as staff constantly bringing out birthday cake and drinks and "singing" with rattles, and strobe lights each time - 7 times in hour we were there. And a breakfast place with no coffee or tea? Bread an add on side item at breakfast and no salt or pepper on table so take food as comes only option! Also, a waitress should not be chewing gum while talking and taking an order! Nor should they be putting on lipbalm while on floor. Waitresses could use some basic training. Food was ok, nothing special and warm not hot. Flowers in food colorful but not edible, so wasted. Would be better in arrangement on table, so can enjoy while wait for food which slow since "individualized". The mandatory tip, when not deserved, is annoying. As said no plans to return as no boxes checked :(
