If you like being yelled at by your server go here,,, they now coat your easy over eggs in parsley,, your potatos in parsley. Feedback on my visit February 3, 2024 I visited J's Diner for the first time this morning. We will start with the positive. The food was excellent. Now, for the negatives. My girlfriend and I had Abbey as our server. If she is making serving her vocation in life, she may want to rethink this decision. The customer service on her end was absolutely atrocious. Luckily, she had other servers and a male worker in the kitchen pick up her slack. Here are the multitude of problems that you may encounter with her as a server. One, very little table touches when it came to refilling coffee mugs and checking on the delivery of our breakfast. We counted three other tables who arrived after us and got their breakfast before we did. And, this couldn't have been due to the complexity of our order since I ordered French toast and sausage and my girlfriend ordered a breakfast sandwich and a side of fruit. Two, the lack of attention when it came to removing plates from her tables. Now, maybe I am going above and beyond with my review. But, I couldn't help but notice that the table of 4 beside us had leftover plates on their table after paying the bill. You could tell they were uncomfortable sitting at the table and having a conversation with the plates just laying there. An average to good server removes plates from the table as patrons finish their meals. This is called pre-bussing a table. Something Abbey needs to get familiar with in being a good server. Lastly, her demeanor was that of someone who wanted to be somewhere else. As we looked for her to ask for our coffee to be refilled, Abbey was observed standing behind the counter and talking with another employee while also being on her cell phone. When I decided to approach the back counter, I saw the male worked in the kitchen area and asked if he was the manager. He said he wasn't but was readily able to assist me. This man was working his tail off and the fact that he came to the table and filled our mugs told me two things. One, he cares about what he is doing and two, he realizes the importance of good customer service and being proactive. I applaud this man and the work that he did and picking up where Abbey clearly dropped the ball many times. In watching the rest of the serving staff, I noticed their attention to detail and always being visible for the customers. So, in conclusion, very good food. Maybe a little pricey, but the cost would be irrelevant as long as Abbey is not your server. read more

I've eaten at J's several times but the last few times have been disappointing. Went to grab lunch the other day with my boyfriend and he ordered a strawberry lemonade. When he tasted it he almost spit it out. He asked me to taste it and when I did I couldn't believe it. It was salty. Come to find out whoever made the lemonade used salt and not sugar. That's what our server said. I get it, things happen. Let's move on. I asked for the chicken gnocchi soup which they were out of. My server asked if anything else could be brought out and I mentioned the French onion. What I received I could not believe. I've never, in the history of eating French onion soup (and I've had a lot) have ever been presented with French onion soup like this. See picture! Hardly any onions. No bread or croutons inside and a half melted piece of cheese in basically broth..... And it was $4.95?? Is this how you serve your French onion soup typically? Not good J's!! I also received a shrimp Poboy sandwich which was supposed to include fries and coleslaw. The sandwich was just OK. Only four shrimp (2 on each side of the roll) and they are average size. I had seven french fries on my plate. That's it! My boyfriend always gets the bang bang chicken and shrimp and he's never disappointed. I must agree it's a good dish. It's gonna take a lot for me to come back to J's for lunch again. The last few times have just been a big miss for me. I'll stick with breakfast if I go back...... anything else is just too inconsistent. read more

Appreciate the outdoor dining. Good variety of offerings, which are not spectacular, but quite decent.

Detour if need be to come here! I just had a wonderfully flavorful breakfast that I loved. A little bit of a wait, but not long. Very friendly staff and a wide variety of menu options. unable to make a second google review, however your response to my original review was lackluster and didn't address half of the points we made. there is no reason i should have been even charged when the food was so poor quality and majority of our tables items came out cold and similarly awful. the fact you even decided to put an untrained staff member on a table of 4 is such poor management practice coming from multiple service workers ourselves. many other tables were also complaining and getting discounts and visibly unhappy, if this is how you run a business it's a wonder you're still open. read more

So, I decided to try this place out on a recommendation from a friend. My first thought...a little hippie, but ok. The waitress was super nice and attentive, everyone who worked their seemed to be happy they were at work. The OJ? Fresh squeezed while you watch. The food was amazing. They can take something simple and give it just the right touch with all-natural ingredients that you want more even when you are full. I was impressed with the food. The atmosphere was good with a really good blend of both servers and customers. Just the right amount of table chatter without being a loud and clangy diner. Tried the food twice here so far for lunch I had the steak kabobs and the second time I had the breakfast tacos. Everything was good that came with the Kabobs but the beef it self was very disappointing as it was chewy, seemed over cooked/low quality. Second time I had the breakfast tacos which very good, came with 4 tacos w/salsa and home fries. My wife ordered the steak kabobs (I did not realize this until to late) whoops.. same issue though with the steak as I had. Went to J's for breakfast after reading rave reviews. Very disappointing shells in eggs over easy which We showed waitress and my blueberry pancake looked done on outside golden brown , however was Raw batter Inside. We showed waitress she left came back, gave us our bill and said there was a discount, it was .83 cents for a 2.99 pancake you couldn't eat and a egg with shells. We won't return horrible customer service skills. read more
