Came here on a snowy Sunday AM and were very impressed with our food! It was very busy but we got a table for 4 within 10 minute wait. It was cozy and a fun environment. The staff was very friendly and professional. We got our orders in quickly and our food came out pretty fast too! Everything was delicious and fresh. I can't stop obsessing and raving over my rigatoni vodka sauce pasta dish... the sausage was incredible and there was a hefty amount of sausage too! Pasta was perfectly cooked and the sauce was just the right amount of spicy! So so so good one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. I'm so blown away. Thank you! The garlic bread with it was a huge plus and also delicious.

As someone who's lived here nearly 20 years, this is my favorite restaurant in the area. Whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner or takeout or dine in, they've got you covered. My favorites are the Chicken Caesar Wrap, Mac & Cheese, and, of course, the Pancake Sampler. Service is speedy. Ambiance is quite home-y. Definitely stop in sometime.

Love this place so much. Known for pancakes but their buffalo chicken mac n cheese is my personal fav. The French toast is also slept on - I also prefer over pancakes. An NJ classic!

PJ's Pancake House seems to be a culinary pillar of this part of Jersey. We were only in Princeton for the weekend and asked around for a few must-eat spots. It seemed that PJ's Pancake House came up more than a few times. We were heartened by the line that was already forming at its doors on a Sunday morning, knowing that where there's a line, good food awaits. (And for those who disdain a queue, rest assured, the line moves fast, mainly because the servers and line cooks move around with frightening efficiency). The pancakes are well worth the rave. We got two of their pecan pancakes, and they neared perfection in their fluffiness, taste, and the sheer density of pecans that were tossed into the batter. I also ordered some scrambled eggs and bacon on the side, which were just fine. My husband went somewhat rogue with the shakshuka, which is a tomato-based stew with poached eggs. It's served with several crusty pieces of bread, and it's hard to understate how sexily the crostini skated through that thick, savory gravy and egg yolk. If we had any complaints, it was a little saltier than we would've liked. Those waiting in line are often given a choice - counter seats open up faster, but table seats are more comfortable. We opted to grab seats at a counter, and it was fun to watch the dizzying action in the kitchen and around the service stations.

Classic Diner Vibes with a Legendary Twist. I had to stand in line with a mob of people just to get in, which already told me this place must be something special. It's apparently an iconic spot, located right across the street from the college--so it makes sense that the crowd was filled with college students and parents. Since I was dining solo, I lucked out when the hostess called for a party of one and snagged a seat at the bar. The ambiance gave me a nostalgic, old-school diner feel, which added to the charm. The staff was friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. I ordered the two eggs style combo with a meat, but the real star of the show was the legendary French toast. I went with the strawberry and cannoli option--let me just say, no wonder people were waiting outside. I've never had French toast quite like this before. As a cannoli lover, seeing it as a topping option was an instant yes for me. The balance of fluffy toast, fresh strawberries, and the cannoli cream was absolute perfection. Chef's kiss. Overall, I would definitely return if I'm ever back in Princeton. The French toast alone holds a special place in my heart.

Came in on a late Friday morning. Thankfully, there was no line outside. We were greeted at the door by a friendly host and seated immediately. The place was bustling inside and our server soon came to take our orders. He was efficient and friendly as well. Soon after, our food came out and not only was the plating nice but the food was overall delightfully delicious. Pancakes are their cream of the crop --hence the name. But definitely a spot that I wouldn't hesitate bringing friends and family to, to give them a taste of historic Princeton.

Last week my family and I stumbled across pjs pancake house during lunch. We had never been to Princeton before and we were passing through in our way home. It was lunch and my kids love pancakes. So we decided to stop in. The wait for a family of 5 was 30 minutes at 2 pm. But they were able to seat us at the counter immediately. So we did that. My daughter ordered pancakes. My husband ordered the lemon ricotta special pancakes. My sons had burgers. I had the avocado stuffed with egg and bacon. We all enjoyed the food. Solid 4 out of 5. I don't think it compares with some of our local or north jersey diners. It was small and stuffy. The food took a long time to come out. But we had a good time and would come again.

the tres leches pancake was amazing but their unequal service is so hurtful

I am seriously considering never coming back here and PJ's has been my go-to for any brunch, date, lunch, and early meal for a while now. I was dinning with a friend and the staff ignored a Black Hijabi woman and her son and they waited for 20 MINUTES to have their order taken before walking out. The restaurant was empty, it was my table, a table of 6 and then a couple. I even tried to flag down a server but no one was in sight. IMMEDIATELY after the mother and her son left, they wiped down the table. I didn't want to think that this negligence was intentional but the fact that the table was cleared off i'm IMMEDIATELY after they left was blantant. They didn't even give the mother or son iced water cups, which are given to everyone. I was eating my lunch with a friend and this was so upsetting to witness given how diverse Princeton residents are. Anti-Blackness is NOT welcome in Princeton please do better PJ's!!

Came here for brunch on a long weekend! Expect a line if you're going during peak times, though it does move quickly. PJs is a staple of brunch in Princeton, and I had a great experience going with my partner. He got three pancakes (which were super large and substantive for about $14), and the menu lets you try a variety of pancakes instead of just an order of three. I really enjoyed the chocolate and peanut butter and the pistachio and chai. The buckwheat didn't quite do it for me. I got their skillet steak with onions and peppers, which came with two fried eggs (~$18). I'll admit this came a bit underseasoned, but I was able to save it with the hot sauces, etc at the table. We left the meal fairly bursting, while the prices were super reasonable. Service was good, but the servers definitely had a lot going on and we needed to flag their attention a few times. Floors are sticky and I did see an ant crawling around our table, which was less great. But overall, the ambience is pretty nice (it's darker if you sit inside, almost pub-like), and there's some charm in the initials carved into the table.

Eating here now and I Understand the 3 stars now. Menu not accommodating, server the guy was super rude not even a little friendly. Too many tables for the small space. Will not be coming back and I do not recommend

Perfect place for Saturday brunch. The menu is pretty expansive and includes some dishes that are very unique. My friend and I ordered the Nutella and strawberry French toast, the mexishuka, and a side of grits, all were delicious. The portion sizes are great for the price and we left there feeling so full. I personally had the mexishuka and my taste buds were thoroughly impressed. The chorizo has the perfect amount of spice and it meshed so well with the eggs and guacamole. I love the side of chips that came with it, balanced it out perfectly. Definitely would come back here to try some other dishes I had my eye on! The service was great for a Saturdays. Although it was pretty busy, our server was attentive but also gave us space to enjoy our meal and catch up. I love the divey feel of this place, Takes me back to my college days!

PJ's Pancake House never disappoints. I picked up an order this morning of their delicious Banana Coconut Rum Pancakes. Unfortunately when I got there I was told my order wasn't made because they updated their system and didn't receive it. I only had to wait 5 minutes, but with limited parking I had to park in an unloading only spot. Maybe I'll try another flavor of pancakes, but these have been my go-to.

Always a great time at PJ's. The staff is great and the food is wonderful. Can't go wrong with their OG pancakes and we tried the Denver potato cakes which were just delicious. Can get very busy on the weekends but on a weekday it's totally fine. Come here for a great start to the day.

Best Soufflé Pancakes ever!…read more Now that I've actually been to Japan I can honestly say I crave these pancakes more than the ones I had overseas! These pancakes are more fluffier and eggier (I think that's a legit word, LOL), and super rich! If you don't like eggs, don't visit because there is a lot of eggy flavor. I've tried the two dominant flavors, Matcha and Strawberry, and I can't tell which one I like better. The light cream topping is better than any butter or maple syrup I've ever had. There is usually one more flavor that they change from time to time as well which I've heard is great. Going on the weekday avoids the wait. The abnormal hours of operation don't make it easy to visit but if you do you'll definitely enjoy. Book the table on Yelp!

J S Foodies is the latter, a small and cheerful outpost of Tokyo imagination where breakfast behaves like theater. I arrived with my boys and my father in law, a man celebrating another year of survival in a universe that has not yet figured out how to improve pancakes. The space is small, and the famous Kiseki pancakes take their time, about twenty to thirty minutes, as if they are being persuaded into existence rather than cooked. These Kiseki pancakes are not pancakes in the American sense. They are soufflé style creations, tall and trembling, as if gravity is only a suggestion. They arrive airy and delicate, with a gentle jiggle that suggests optimism. We ordered accordingly. I had the lemon ricotta, which tasted like sunlight had been filtered through dairy. My oldest chose matcha, green, purple and quietly sophisticated and complex. My youngest went with the original maple, a classic executed so well it made the classics feel new again. All were excellent, the sort of food that makes conversation pause because mouths are busy being grateful. My father in law ordered what I personally considered a cautious breakfast. Regular pancakes with eggs and bacon. A meal that could have been assembled in any roadside diner between here and forever. Yet even this was handled with care. The eggs were perfect, the bacon honest, the pancakes dignified. No irony, no shortcuts. Yes, the prices are a little steep. But this is not a place for routine nourishment. This is a place for occasions, for birthdays, for reminding yourself that breakfast can aspire to something like art. Five stars, because sometimes the world surprises you by getting something exactly right.
