TAWDI appeared highly rated, but it was also basically the only choice. Walking in to Mickey Mouse greeting you, it's a very homely, organized, and oddly empty shop with some Middle Eastern influence. They are big on marketing for their Dubai chocolate offerings, which I did try. The lady who helped was very kind, offering us each a sample by the chocolate type we liked. As she explained how they make chocolate in the back daily, I had to inquire about popular selections and what some flavors were. Basically, they seem to focus on Dubai chocolates and have some imported goods from Lebanon. While I trust that they make chocolates daily, I have to question how much, what flavors, and what is being turned over, because the sample I ate and the chocolates I opened up later certainly had obvious chocolate bloom, and yes they were stored at an appropriate temperature and eaten on the same day. At the price these pieces were, they certainly shouldn't have chocolate bloom nor taste like old chocolate. The filling of their Dubai bar was nice, crunchy, and moist, but the exterior chocolate shell didn't really have a taste. I am fine with paying a premium for premium-tasting chocolate and often do it, but I would have preferred eating grocery store chocolate, honestly. I'm not sure what others are tasting or whether people reviewing TAWDI are actually into chocolate, but I was disappointed when I didn't enjoy these.

It was milk chocolate with hazelnuts that was simply decadent and delicious, but I must have it in dark chocolate.. Everything in its place boxes and boxes of delectable chocolates abound this chocolatier. What I love most about it is the free samples, of course, it is like Costco, but in chocolate for me. I did get a small block of the dark chocolate with hazelnut and tried about three more of their beautifully handcrafted chocolate bites, they do not skimp. Jessica was patient while I asked questions which she happily answered and tried one of the usual w/ ganache that was OK so I chose some that had some nuts in it. All in all this was a very delightful experience and would joyfully return but with small hesitation because it's just devilishly good & sinful! The chocolates were placed in a glass case the same way precious stones & gems are displayed. Simply fabulous. Had a wonderful time here. Topnotch!

Dubai chewy, Scooping Scone in Chestnut Espresso, Lemon Pound Cake, 3 set mini dacquoise, Choco Banana Clairoise, & Carmel and Dark Chocolate Madeleine. All these items were enjoyed and biggest takeaways was how soft and not overly sweet each was! the ones i tried: - scooping scone 3/5, love the concept, flavor wasn't for me BUT i will be trying strawberry next -lemon pound cake: 4/5 love a lemon anything, flavor was delicious, personally not a fan of jelly candies. - salted caramel madeleine: 5/5 soft, not super sweet and a perfect coffee companion. - dacquoise: 4/5 soft and cream was amazing. I felt like mine tasted like lychee (white middle one) but i can't remember the exact flavor i was told. yummy tho

There's even a cute private nook with plants! We were pleasantly surprised to learn that everything here (from syrups to baked goods) is made in-house and you can really taste the quality. It's such a cozy spot to catch up, sip tea, and slow down for a bit--definitely one of Cypress's cutest hidden gems. We are so excited to come back in the future for some afternoon tea!
