Went to receive service here at J Taps Bar & Grill. Very Disappointed. Would give 0 stars if option. Waitress Jamey was condescending and was more concerned with chatting with friends than serving me. THE CUSTOMER! Will not be back. Salad was good except the pete's sauce which smelled funny. This was my first time at JTaps and I'm a born and raised westsider. My friends and I went here on a Thursday night to get a few drinks and something to eat. To preface, I understand that this is a bar that serves food (rather than a restaurant that has a bar). I ordered a buffalo chicken salad, my friend ordered the club, and my other friend ordered a small greek salad. I received my buffalo chicken salad in disbelief. The plate was piled on with food and I could barely even cut my salad without something falling off the plate. There was what seemed like an entire bag of shredded cheese on this one salad. I could not even enjoy my food because of the amount of cheese and food; it was more than the plate could hold. My friend received her giant club with about 4 inches of turkey on it. The sandwich fell over on it's own because that's just how big it was. Finding a way to eat her food was a struggle for her as well. My other friend received her greek salad and enjoyed it. It also came with a small side of pita. Overall, I was extremely disappointed from someone who was just expecting your run-of-the-mill bar food. Some may appreciate generous portions, but when the food is so large that you cannot figure out a way to properly eat it without making a mess or you cannot even enjoy it, I'm wondering why in the world someone would prepare food like this. I hear the wings are great, but I will probably just stick with Wild Mike's after this. read more

Always a great spot for a post-work beer. Good food, good beer selection, good atmosphere, and close to home! The only thing I can complain about is the smoking situation. I love sitting outside, but hate that we're always inundated with smoke when we choose that route. read more

Great place to catch a game or throw some darts. Cheap beer and a young crowd on Thursday nights make this a great spot for bored college kids. Not to mention the dedicated flippy cup table! read more

I just moved to the West side of Cincinnati in May, and was really looking for a place to watch sports games that was more enjoyable than most chain restaurants. We stumbled upon J Taps looking for a place with a patio. We consider ourselves regulars here now, and love this establishment. Positives: Their deals are incredible. They always have deals on buckets, and on Thursdays they have 1$ drafts which is always fun. Their live music on Saturday night is wonderful, and they play a lot of classic rock songs. Karaoke on Fridays by Ms. Karen is SO fun! She's a wonderful woman and very nice!! Their waitresses are very nice. I have never been in there and had bad service. Their wings are relatively large in size, and their sauces are very good. In fact we have never had a bad dish since we've been there. Also their loaded waffle fries are incredible. Their patio is large and spacious. Negatives: On Friday and Saturday evenings it gets pretty crowded for the games. If you prefer a quiet setting- this isn't the place for you. Other than that there's really no other negative comments I have. We LOVE this place and will be going back many many times! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would as well.!! I used to be a regular here until a couple years ago. Roach crawled across the bar out of someone's to go order bag next to me. Owner was rude and smashed it on the bar with a keno box and never wiped up anything...he did absolutely nothing! Nasty place will never eat or drink here again! Ever!! read more

If you are looking for a variety of cold beer and better than decent bar food, all at friendly prices - J Taps is the place. I have visited a few times before posting this review and remind the reader this is a bar that has a pretty good kitchen. Their boneless and bone-in wings are worth the wait. Their gyro sandwiches and gyro salads are good - I recommend they replace their version of Tzatziki with a more authentic yogurt based one. Instead of fries they offer a vegetable medley as a side. The bartenders and servers, at least when I visited, are attentive and worked their tails off. I'll update this post when we sample the burgers, grilled chicken sandwiches, etc. read more

Plenty of TVs and the service is phenomenal even with just a couple girls behind the bar. They had two projector screens as well playing the bengals football games and we had a sampler appetizer dish that was plentiful and reasonably priced. The only thing is I wish they had a little more space for a pool table, but the beer was cold and the food was good and I definitely had a good time for a Sunday. Would like to go back. read more

Good food, good service! It's a bar, yet you feel welcome and comfortable bringing your family there. The food was delicious! Gets pretty busy on game nights and parking can be limited. I would definitely recommend stopping in! read more

My friend and I went there last week and I have to say, some of the best grilled chicken gyros I've ever eaten. The chicken was so tender and juicy, and the seasonings were perfect. the portions that they serve are unbelievable compared to the price they charge. I would refer anyone there. Epic Fail. To be forthright, we never actually ate their, so the food could very well be gourmet quality and then some. Now perhaps it was due to the NCAA tournament being broadcast, or perhaps due to UC playing in the NCAA tournament, but I chalk it up to utter incompetence. My friend and I finally found a table, and took seats, but it took around 10 minutes for the previous inhabitants food and drinks to be bussed from the table. Another 15 minutes expired before it was wiped down! After another 30-40 minutes expired before even having our orders taken, we decided to leave. It appeared that they decided that only two servers were sufficient for a UC game night during the NCAA tournament! What's worse, is our "waitress" often hung around two tables with college age people flirting and chatting away for 5-10 minute spurts. Seriously understaffed, seriously underwhelmed, and seriously a waste of time. Instead we left, drove 15 minutes to Quaker Steak, waiting 5 minutes for a table, and another 5 minutes for food. Pathetic failure on the part of J Taps. This place is a neighborhood bar and grill that is all of 5 minutes from my house, and I honestly wish that there had been SOME semblance of service in order to give it another shot. This past weekend I celebrated the beginning moments of my bday here....while I was visiting from Chicago. By far it was one of the better decisions I made this weekend. My cousin took me here after we went to a comedy club so we could continue on our path of inebriation. What a great idea. Since we didn't eat dinner I was starved....had a drink and immediately looked at the menu. Typical sports bar cuisine and some of the finest menu items were present. I have a problem - I love wings but I am picky. Back home I have my favorite spot and then your average Hooters so it is hard for me to try wings else where because there is no comparison. OH, that changed saturday night when I ate wings at JTAPs...they have to be the best wings I have had and I have now placed them on my tops wings list...and that is not because I was drunk or starving. I just love wings....SAD REALLY. I also had the Greek Fries - bless their heart for putting that on the menu. Comfortable atmosphere filled with locals, and you did not need to stand in line, dress up or squeeze pass someone to find a place to sit down. I have already told my cousin that when I come back to visit we will go back there.... PS the owner is extremely friendly and not bad on the eyes. read more

Spotty service, food is not consistent.... example......order a salad one day and get the works order it again and get half put together salad. Management needs to stop hiring girlfriends and waitresses need to take care of their customers instead of sitting over by the kitchen on their phones texting or constantly on Facebook. Waited 20 minutes for servers to get to us too busy talking to other regulars so the barmaid came out from behind the bar to wait on us as we (WERE) regulars.....emphasis on WERE!  Basically the only thing this place has going for itself is it serves beer and has a garage door patio. I haven't been back in awhile and don't plan on going. I saw a review posted by Ben J on 3/22/11 and I agree with everything he said. When we (WERE) still regulars it was a place to never go during March Madness Tournament time or any other big game or sporting events.
