I have been going to Jabaneros before the current owner took over. Its still the best breakfast burrito in Denver and staff is still friendly and really nice. The one star review is for the price I just paid for a #1 breakfast burrit, $14 and some change is absurd. Just a few years ago the original owner had the same burrito at $9. This was a great deal and a great burrito. A $5 hike in just a few short years for the same exact burrito is ridiculous. After my recent visit it will be my last. They have lost a regular customer. read more

I frequent the strip mall that this establishment resides and have always wanted to try it out. I finally made it here to try it out. I ordered the #14 which is a ground beef burrito. I wanted it smothered but there is an up charge which I was unaware of. Also I asked for a medium sauce and it definitely to me was hot. I'll be asking for mild next time. Their burritos are actually perfection, they are able to make 4 burritos in under 15 minutes, and they have a moderately quiet environment

Still sad that they changed their menu and got rid of the margaritas but the food is still good. They used to have some delicious crunchy tacos, however they seem to stick to burritos and tamales. My favorite is the Cali burrito. Packed with the avocado and carne asada. Yum, makes my mouth drool. At least now their hours have expanded and they are open till 8pm. read more

I honestly cannot believe this place is open! We ordered chips and salsa, carne asada fried and a beef burrito. Not only is it expensive but the food is terrible. Tried Jabaneros Mexican Grill and honestly regret it. It's your typical hole-in-the-wall spot, but with no decor or vibe--just a dull space with zero atmosphere. We ordered 2 tacos, green chili cheese fries, and a carnitas burrito. The food came out on paper plates and styrofoam carry-out boxes, even though we were dining in. That alone told us not to expect much. Unfortunately, we were right--the food had no flavor at all. The fries had a strange, off-putting taste, like the oil hadn't been changed in days. We ended up throwing away two orders of fries and half our food--it was just that bad. And to make it worse, the total was $32, which is way overpriced for bland, low-effort food served on disposable containers. Disappointing, Overpriced, and No Effort. If you're looking for good Mexican food with any kind of atmosphere or taste, keep looking. This isn't it. read more

I'm sad that there are new owners, the customer service has gone down. Called to place an order on the phone and it was never placed. Then after placing an order, I sat for 30 minutes before I had to ask if it was ready cause I needed to make an appointment. And it was sitting there ready the whole time. This is a hidden gem. It's small and unassuming when you walk in. Décor isn't much, but then again, once you start eating, you don't care. They have a hefty menu of items and I've never had anything bad. The breakfast burritos are my favorite, but I've also loved the tamales, beans and tacos. My only complaint is that their fountain soda has been down for what feels like forever, so I usually just take my food and go. I ordered a Carnitas burrito smothered, with Carne Asada fries (The combo) and only got the burrito, non smothered. I only paid for that, but it was disappointing to not get what I want. The Carnitas burrito is not very good when it's not smothered. I won't come back because that's a huge disappointment and I left hungry. read more

The tacos are horrible. The carne asada tastes like hamburger meat. The chicken is some of the blandest meat I have ever received from a restaurant. I would feed this to my dog because it's unseasoned and safe for him to eat. read more

After coming here for over 10 years, sadly we will not be returning. New ownership has poor customer service and never answers the phone. We had to order in store which is understandable since they were busy. They took over 35 minutes to make a breakfast burrito and smothered fries. I asked 30 minutes into waiting if I could cancel my order and the lady behind the counter advised they do not do refunds. They were an absolute mess behind the counter. This is unfortunate as I know many people have frequented this place for years and would hate for them to lose a bunch of loyal customers because they can't get it together. Something you should know about me: I'm forever on the hunt for a GOOD breakfast burrito. Specifically, somewhere close to home I can officially call my go-to. I've tried a couple here and there and none of them have quite done it for me. Enter Jabanero's. I've only ever tried their breakfast (served till noon on weekdays and all day on weekends) and once I found my way to that Owner's Favorite - sausage, bacon, chorizo with eggs, potatoes, cheese, and green chili - I searched no further. Get it mild, medium, or hot (medium for me) and this adult arm sized bad boy fills me all the way up every time. Just the burrito is less than $6 and you definitely get your money's worth. I got in on the combo once (about $9) with chips and guac, and pro tip: skip the guac. Friendly staff, good price, and very good food. Until further notice, I'm pretty sure I found my breakfast burrito go-to. read more

Stopped by on word from a coworker to try the breakfast burritos and they were delicious. Tried the bacon and chorizo burrito hot. It was delicious. Also tried the #01 I think it's the "owners favorite" smother also hot and that was delicious too. For heat if you're sensitive to heat or a normie for it the hot is hot. If you really enjoy spicy food the hot has some strong medium heat. Not breaking a sweat but definitely feel it on the tongue with a great taste. The burritos for me were a 10/10. The not so great part was I also ordered some pork tamales and at first glance they looks great but once I removed the corn husk they looked a little small. Very flaky and thin. The meat to masa ration was technically favorable with a decent amount of meat for the size but the issue was the masa was so thin I think it was the reason for it flaking and falling apart. Definitely on the small and thin side of things for the price. That being said the taste was great. The service was super friendly and the wait was short. I will be returning for those breakfast burritos. read more
