I am rating them at 4-stars even though the place remains (now, years later) a solid 3.5-star joint... It's been so long since I've been to Jabbers, and even longer still since I reviewed them so an update is certainly warranted. The place is located where it's off our normal beaten path but a close friend reminded us of the place, so off we were to try them again, as if it were the first time. The place hasn't changed much since the last time I was there. Maybe new furniture, maybe new furnishing, but pretty much intact from what I recall. The menus did change as it is very targeted on choices to eat - which I find a good thing. For dinner, around the table, we had two "build your own burgers" and a shrimp and spinach salad. For an appetizer we had their onion petals (which I like better than those massive onions you get at the bigger places. Anyway, all the food was delicious - burgers cooked on point and the salad carried nice large shrimp - all good. We discovered they offer desserts from the local cupcake truck - cakes of all sorts (peanut butter, chocolate, strawberry, raspberry, etc.) that were supremely delicious. If there is a reason to come back it's for their foods and these cakes - phenomenal. Now, the issue with this place is definitely the service. Not to say the servers were lacking - because they were not - they were friendly and courteous. The problem is that they seem to need more of them. I kinda felt bad for the two that were working the room as they had to tag-team and help each other, not to mention how ragged they were running trying to keep up with everything and everyone - which they really couldn't. Again another person on the wait-staff would definitely help. We plan on coming back again, we will do so knowing we will be in for the long haul. I ordered a sirloin steak & received a chopped steak patty. (not what I ordered). I had fries as a side which were loaded with salt!! My friend had the shepherds pie which was also loaded with salt. We had dinner tonight at Jabber's and it was very good. The wings never disappoint. The servers are friendly and do an amazing job.

We came here a few months ago and it was great. Wings delicious, brisket amazing. Came back a few weeks ago to get wings and menu completely changed. And is not good. My burger was horrible I couldn't eat it and even though the server was great the service was horribly long took an hour and a half just to get our food. read more

We went back to try again with the new look etc. I was not going to do a review because it seemed like everything was "off" for the restaurant. There was a staff shortage which meant our server was trying to do everything alone. Her sister, the bartender, was helping her out the best she could. It took almost an hour to get our food and it was wrong. There were not very many patrons so the long wait on food was confusing. The server was so kind and due to all of the issues, comped the food. Went in after the remodel. According to our server they had completely revamped the menu and started smoking their own meats. All I can tell you is whatever they did to their brisket, they need to keep doing it! It was so soft and juicy without being over-smoked, no toughness in it whatsoever. We also bought a simple bacon cheeseburger and were happy to see the crisp LTO it came with. It was made to order and smashed on the griddle, good crust and pink in the middle. Goes outside and yaps with someone for 20 minutes....comes in and makes drinks for 1 table. Goes and talks with another table.....acts as if we were ghosts. I love this place! I confess, having just come down to the area in May it seemed like it might be a "locals only" and "yer not from around here, are ya?" kind of place you see in the movies. Well, clearly that was my ignorant bias at play and I was quite wrong. Jabbers is great! I've been there going since I moved down here in May and have loved the appetizers, entrees, sides, specials, and, of course, desserts. :-) I have very much enjoyed their potato skins, soups, steaks, fajitas, And, the one I re-order most, their deliciously grilled burger with an egg on top!!! Deserts? I love their bananas foster cake. Damn is it good! Likewise the cheesecake. -- I confess, I'm really bad at remembering my servers names by the time I go to write a review so I have to come back in here after looking at my receipts. I can tell you they've all been friendly, attentive, and, most importantly, knowledgeable about their menu and what was currently available. Cannot say enough about how important that last piece of information is. (Seriously, don't you hate it when a server describes a particular item, You get sold on the idea of having that, only to hear oh, sorry, we're out of that. Doh! Of course, with so many items on the menu, I understand they may not always know. However, in my seven or so visits in the last three months alone, I'm usually told ahead of time if they are out of something-I should explain that I often get there in the last hour or two before closing- and once or twice they have had to say, "hold on a second let me make sure that one is still available", if it's a special they're running low on. Family friendly place. Lots of TVs. Not so loud that you don't get to enjoy yourself regardless of where you're sitting. My friends who drink say the "adult beverage" selection is excellent. (And, I know it will sound silly to you in all likelihood, but I must point out they have a very loose crane machine that even my 20-year-old enjoyed spending a dollar on the other day. I like Jabbers, it's the first place we tried when I moved to the area. The last visit was pretty disappointing though. The food was Philly Cheese steak and it comes with chips. They didn't have the chips but still charged an up charge for the fries. I thought that was kind of weird. The sandwich was really good though. The service, ugh it killed the experience for me. We came in at like 8:20 and they closed at 9. The bartender started looking at her watch like she had a hot date and rushed us like it was 9:20 instead of 8:20. She said you need to hurry because they are about to shut down the kitchen. She was following around another server complaining loudly the whole time, looking at her phone while the other server cleaned and swept and was busy getting her side work done. Since we sat at the bar she came back got us some beers and our food order and continued to talk really loud to the other woman there. Well I know she worked a double because she said it about 10x. Jabbers is a clean--almost sterile--attempt at making a sports bar. They have banners and sports stuff hanging from the walls--as well as several flat-screen TVs--but you get the feeling of being in a sports-themed Perkins. Don't get me wrong: the food is good and the service is fast, and to be fair, we didn't visit during a major sporting event. Although, being a Cowboys' fan, I didn't appreciate all the Steelers banners (just kidding). The Cuban Sandwich (not on the menu) is excellent and for *6.95, it will satisfy your hunger. They also have Wings (10 wings for $7.15, 15 for $9.25, and so on). The Wings are spicy and meaty. Overall, the menu offers a lot of choices--certain to address any craving. NOTE: Jabbers is located near the Kennedy Space Center and several aerospace companies, so they can get busy at lunch, so you want to get there by 11:30 am. I would love to visit during a sports event because I'll bet this place is lively! Their other reviews on Yahoo are very positive and I agree: It's worth a visit! read more

Was very let down with ordering Jabbers via Grubhub! No where to leave menu notes or to add extras sauces and or to remove onions from a salad and salad ingredients a not listed, wasn't even allowed to choose a salad dressing! Food was packed with my cold salad on the bottom of the bag with all hot items on top of it so it came soggy! Love eating at the restaurant; it doubt I'll ever order from Grubhub again unless Jabbers updates how we can order as on Grubhub for other restaurants there are notes sections and such. read more

Jabbers was very accommodating for my best friends birthday. Even despite their regular weekly activities they still manage to make our party of 12 still feel special and our server Anna didn't miss a beat. This was one of the WORST dining experiences we've ever had! We ordered appetizers and then the server came back saying they didn't have the one I wanted. So I ordered something different. Then she came back saying they don't have what my husband wanted! Seriously? Do the kitchen and wait staff not talk at all? The server dropped off the food and never came back, we had to go to the bar ourselves to get drink refills, the food was ridiculous! I ordered a blackened fish sandwich that came out on a hoagie roll with a small strip of whitefish. No lettuce, tomatoes, mayo: Nothing! We had to ask another server to send our server with the bill, and once dropped off, she never came back. Had to go to the bar to pay it AND the wrong appetizers were still listed! Perhaps this is one reason the staff doesn't know they are out of items? There was no price difference but for inventory purposes, it should have been corrected. Absolutely NEVER Again! And the worst part was that there were 3 servers and only 4 tables full!! Ridiculous!! read more

Place used to be great our last 2 visits have been disappointing, service was terrible and food, when we finally got it wasn't what we ordered and was cold. New to the area and heard this was a good place to watch my Steelers, so we checked it out beforehand. Friendly service, great kid's choices and good options on the menu. I started with the "famous" clam chowder. It wasn't anything to write home about but it was pretty tasty and had nice pieces of bacon and huge clams in it. My daughter (10) devoured the broccoli cheese soup! I ordered the Reuben (I'm a sucker for a good Reuben). It was pretty good. Not a lot of meat, but what was there was tender and lean. The bread was nicely toasted not hard and crunchy. It came with chips. My kid got the cheeseburger. It was right off the grill, not a frozen patty. It came with crinkle fries. I'd tell ya how tasted but it was gone before I could get a bite! Overall, a pretty decent bar & grill. We only live a few miles away, so I know we'll be back. Sunday they have a steak special. Excellent service and food.My favorite is the strip Steak has nice seasoning and cooked perfect as ordered. The sides could be a bit better..the corn is just canned corn..I quite eating corn anyway, since GMOs are in about 90% of corn. We, my family and I, have dined at Jabber's on two occasions. Both times around Halloween one year apart. We originally chose the restaurant based on it's proximity to the Haunted Jail Trail, which is located just down the street at the Brevard County jail. Never again! Our bartender was fantastic, her service and attention were more than expected. I can't comment on the food because we didn't get that far. We asked to have one TV on the NASCAR race. Tonya, was so put out, she did not want to Change one TV. My husband asked multiple time to put it down to the lower channels because NBC had the race. She would not go to the lower channels to look and was clearly annoyed to change. She threw the remote down and went to help other customers. She did come back and had asked several times "What Channel". My husband had said the channel many times. It was so obvious how annoyed she was. I said, "Why are you so put out?" And that was not good. I got an earful from her and then a customer who said we were rude since walking in. She laughed and encouraged the customer to harass us. We paid our bill. Apologized to our bar tender if we were rude in any way. And we left. We are not faulting our bartender in anyway. Be careful what you ask for a Jabbers. read more

We've all heard them - the pleas and encouragements to support or local restaurants as these food service workers get paid so little and typically don't have benefits. I pride myself on supporting my community in any way I can . . . so, I'll bite. I'll support my community restaurants (and in Port St. John, that doesn't give you a lot of options.) We've hit just about all of them now, except Jabbers. Pre-Covid, I've been there 3 times, I've left 3 times vowing to never go there again! So, why did I try again tonight? Maybe I was hoping the Covid break made them hungry enough to appreciate their customers a little more. Maybe they would try a little harder to "act" like they wanted your business. . . . NOT! We, (5 adults and 2 children) walked in at 5:00 p.m. The place was empty except for a few people the bar. The server who came to us (I am convinced) has never worked in a restaurant before. Putting aside personal hygiene, she was clearly put out that we were there. She couldn't answer a single question - gave 2 minute excuses for everything (including why the ceiling fan couldn't be turned down.) As time went on and more people came in, we noticed that we were the only ones who were served our drinks out Styrofoam cups. Everyone else had those high-end plastic cups with no writing on them. They also had different servers than ours. When I asked why, we were told (for the next 2 minutes) that it was because our party was so large. . . . (did I say there was 5 adults and 2 children?) The party of six next too us must have just made it under the wire! By 5:45, we still had not seen a bit of our order - not even a salad. I finally let our server know that the men in our party had to leave at 6:00 to make their fishing cruise and asked how much longer for our order. She then began to explain how much longer it takes to fill an order for such a large party! At this point, I said, "Stop! I really am not asking for an explanation. I just need to know if they will get their food within the next 5 minutes, leaving them 10 minutes to eat. MAN! DID THIS TICK HER OFF!!! She was so upset she stood there and held her breath before stomping off! Now, we all know what happens to your food when you tick off the server. We decided to cut our losses and leave. Before doing so, my husband asked to speak to the owner. There was no owner so they sent the manager over - maybe a year out of high school . . . maybe. No apologies - no sense of value for the customer - she charged us $3.00 per drink!!!! Two glasses of the most God awful wannabe lemonade ever! It was half strength and tasted like Sulphur! So did the tea. $21 for now 50 minutes of NOTHING!!! I was astonished with this girl's attitude!! I said, "Are you kidding me?" She said in a sing-songy voice, "Your husband is leeaaving - you better go toooooo - and don't come baaaack . . . I can't make this up! Why is JABBERS STILL IN BUSINESS? I've talked with maybe a half dozen of my friends who tell me that they've gone so far downhill and that everyone knows how bad their servers are! The moral to this story clearly is that this local restaurant doesn't need our help - nor do they want it and therefore won't get it. The guys in our party, including the two children went on their fishing trip without dinner! That made me angrier than anything else Jabbers did! NEVER again. My soft heart is hardened. read more

After a morning horseback riding nearby we stopped at Jabbers for a late lunch at the suggestion of a group member who had been before. There's not much else out here, so it was an easy choice. It's a sports-bar kind of place. There are TV's mounted around the room so there's something to watch from most anywhere. Unlike most sports bars it is well-lit and it looked like there was seating outside in the back which could be nice. We ordered the fried mushrooms for an appetizer. They were way too greasy. When I bit into one oil poured out. Yuck. The dipping sauce with them was tasty though. I ordered a salad for my meal. I want to say it was a buffalo chicken cobb salad, but we also had 3 pitchers of Blue Moon, so my memory of the salad is a bit fuzzy. It was a good salad though. The rest of group stuck with sandwiches and burgers, pretty basic stuff. It was good enough and we were starving, so we were happy. Our server was good about splitting the checks but a bit slow about some other things (and completely forgot the soups). It's fine, just fine. Especially after a few beers. read more

Only thing I see wrong, is the parking lot is too small for this environment to hold all the customers. You have to get there on time or you will be waiting to be seated. But worth the wait too. We gave Jabbers a try today because we've seen their parking lot very busy at times and thought it might be a diner worth trying. The service was excellent - which is why I'm giving them 2 stars. I had the buffalo chicken wrap. It was like eating cardboard so I dipped it in the ranch to be able to swallow it and not choke. Very dry and bland. Almost no taste. My wife had a bacon cheeseburger. She said that the burger was extremely dry and the fries were terrible. Finally, my son tried the wings - mild and BBQ. Mild had almost no taste whatsoever and was dry and crunchy. The BBQ was nothing to write home about. All in all, not worth the visit. The food was really bland, dry and appeared to all be frozen reheats. I'd skip Jabber's on your next night out. read more

We had the Shrimp special. The fried Shrimp were great! Hush puppies were also excellent!. The fries were just fries, and the Cole slaw was tasteless. The tarter sauce, on the other hand, was very tasty. Be warned, this restaurant is jam packed at peak hours, which I think is 6:15 - 7:15. However, they do have outside seating which is where we sat. The weather was mild so we were fine with it. Service was a little slow, but where isn't it a little slow during the daily rush? Our server was as attentive as she could be given the crowd. We thought she did an admirable job and tipped her well. Overall, we were very pleased with our experience at Jabbers. In the future, we will try to avoid the rush hour, but definitely will be going back! read more

It has always been mediocre at the very best but it seems to be getting worse. The blonde woman who is behind the bar has been there since my first visit. She must be related to the owner because the poor thing cannot do more than one very simple task at a time. The very simple food is just a hair above poor and slightly over priced. It is very bland and takes waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long. The service from the blonde woman I mentioned is very poor and also painfully slow. She is kind of nice sometimes, but she should not be behind a bar or in any type of management position. Bartenders and managers should at least be fully capable of constant multi tasking. She is incapable of taking your order after bringing you your drink. For some reason she must first do something else and then come back for your order. Asking her to place your order when she first approaches will throw her off completely and result in her firmly stating "One minute please". The guy next to me still had not been able to put his order in when I left and there were hardly any other customers. When I asked her,"What type of meat is in the tacos?" She replied,"Just taco meat". I started to laugh until I quickly realized by her blank stare that she really thought taco meat was a type of meat like steak, chicken or pork. Nice folks but they at least need to get someone else with way more personality, experience and speed behind the bar. Would be a much better place if they did. read more
