Go to place for lunches in the Westlake area. Service is always great. Try the twisted cobb salad. Its great as is, but I like to substitute trout for the chicken. The home made corn nuts are awesome. Baja fish tacos are really good, and if you want enchiladas, they have a special that has a fried egg on top that will knock your socks off. It's ok, not worth the hype or overall rating. The service is fine, the food is subpar. Entrance It looks like the leftovers of a Hilton from the early 2000s outfitted with carpet covered consignment chairs. Unfinished plywood lined booths and a rather charming outdoor patio. Appetizers They start you off with a sugar cube size of pimento cheese and a cracker per person. Lovely opening. The au gratin is a mash of ingredients thrown in a dish with some strange mayonnaise like glue. Topped off with soft un-toasted breadcrumbs, equaling no crust. The bread that accompanies it is also quite soggy but grilled to a pretty crust. Making it perfectly posed for your Instagram but soft on impact when tossed in ones mouth. The coleslaw is close to good but deemed to distaste with the overpower of cilantro riddled throughout the concoction. We obtained the coleslaw with our fried catfish, which was fine. Fine, if you don't care for flavor other than the rather tasty spicy sauce it came paired with. Main Course Everything we got as a main course needed seasoning. If you can imagine not marinating food, watering down mashed potatoes and blanched veggies then you know what we ate. Overall The bar is the shining moment of the entire place and probably why it has such a good rating. If you get a few drinks from there the place seems like a Michelin star. read more

This place is yum yum good! Their margaritas slam always get a floater duh! I love how they have valet since it gets packed it's convenient. Service was good, I think I should've sat at the bar instead. Bartenders are more attentive. Definitely will go back! 5 star for food and drinks. 5 star for value. Server ruined experience 0. I wife and 2 children for dinner, we ordered 4 apps as there half price and a good value. Keep in mind my kids are still not eating like an adult. The server rushed through every order and we felt we annoyed him. The final straw he cleaned my wife's platte by putting a dirty plate from another table on top of her's and scooped them both up. I've never ever seen this done especially by a server. This was my first experience at any of the Jack Allen's locations. And I must say, either this place is really popular or everyone in Westlake likes to come here on Wednesday evenings. This place was bumpin'! The space is very nice, and they do have a patio which faces the lovely parking lot that is 360 during rush hour. And of course, this is Westlake: they have valet! So I definitely had to valet my Acura NSX because I definitely don't drive some silly bright compact clown car.... The staff were extremely friendly and pleasant and let me sit and order while I waited for my girl date to arrive. Their happy hour lasts til 7, where all of their starters are priced half off. All drinks are $1 off, and bottles are $4 off. Their wine list is pretty long! However, I wasn't very impressed with their wine offerings. I recognized many and would never buy a bottle of it. I appreciated that our server let me try the wine first before I ordered a glass. Not everyone does that. They sell mason jars of some of their offerings, like their delicious pimento cheese! I only tried a couple of their starters, like the red chile fries and the spinach ravioli. They were unique but I would probably try something else next time. There were a couple of meatless options like a sandwich and tacos, which I did appreciate. However, I would like to see another option less boring and a bit more on the creative side. Came here for brunch this morning. I'm a frequent visitor of the Round Rock location, which is ALWAYS busy. I was pleasantly surprised at this location. Had everything I've expected from Jack Allen's but take out the crowds. Don't get me wrong, it's still busy but not as much as the North location. Plus the area itself is worth the drive down from the North. Come here if you want Jack Allen's without the crowds and long wait. The food, as usual, was fantastic! I searched Yelp for dog friendly restaurants. Jack Allen's 360 came up. We went for lunch. They are NOT PET FRIENDLY, even when we asked if we could sit in the outside patio and my small dog was completely contained in a closed carrier. They said no. Just fyi. read more

Being a fan of the other 2 Jack Allen's for their brunch buffet, I had high hopes for their newest outpost. I fully believe this location will right itself eventually, but I was disappointed this past Sunday for brunch. Pro: there was no wait for a party of 2 at 11:30 am. It appeared we got there just before the post-church crew arrived. Con: the food is subpar. I realize it's a buffet, but I have always been really happy with the other location's buffets. This felt like a continental breakfast at a Holiday Inn. They offered cheap yogurt in a cup for cryin' out loud. The amount of food choices was about half what they offer at the Hwy 71 location, and all the savory items were exploding with raw onion. Wayyy too much raw onion. Furthermore, the baked goods had a scarce selection and all were super dry - I wondered if they were actually baked on site or if they were from a Sam's Club. The fruit salad was super sad - soggy and tasteless. HUGE CON - they had no bacon in house. I inquired with our server about it, because I would have been willing to order it off the menu, and he told us the chef does not carry bacon. He suggested I try the jalapeno sausage at the buffet, which I declined because millions of pig parts crammed together in stomach lining is not my thing. WHO DOESN'T OFFER BACON AT BRUNCH??? Charge me extra for it, whatever, just give me bacon with my mimosas. And btw, the other locations DO carry bacon. Get your ego in check, chef! Pro: Our server. He was sweet, funny, earnest, and always had eyes on our coffee levels. He was definitely earning his tips, flitting from table to table. A good server can make the experience better, but he couldn't save it. I'll be sticking to the Oak Hill location for brunches from now on. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by the selection and quality of food available during their happy hour here. Even better is the selection of beer on tap. We were seated almost immediately outside, which is not too bad in an early September evening. Aided by the massive fans overhead and a slight evening breeze, the patio was an enjoyable place to dine. They also have a very impressive bar inside, which we will have to check out some other time. My chicken fried pork chop was crispy on the outside and perfectly tender and moist on the inside. Our waitress was professional, friendly, and attentive. Came here for a work-celebratory dinner and had a great experience! I was with a group of about 12, we ordered probably 1 of every appetizer on the menu and everything was soo good. My favorite was probably the bacon-wrapped Quail. For my entree, I got the country fried pork chop, was delicious! Jack Allen's has become one of my favorites in Austin. The food is always amazing and the drinks are great too. I came in for a birthday dinner with 12 people on a Monday at 7 pm and they were able to get us seated right away. I got the crab stuffed chicken and it was perfect. Dinner tonight... 45 min wait... then when my brother in law inquired with the hosting staff... now it's an hour wait. Hmmm... could it have been we were a party of 5 (a teenager and 10 year old in tow)...we were not dressed up but what the staff didn't know is that our family is a group of foodies that enjoy paying for a good meal & yes, we can afford to pay quite well. We did not appreciate being treated as forgotten and until I expressed my desire to give a poor review, they treated us as if we would simply get tired of waiting and leave, which we did not and the manager miraculously found a table. The serving staff seemed annoyed to answer questions about the menu and gave a smart alleck remark when asked what he recommended on the appetizer menu. (For our first visit, you would expect a little enthusiasm for the menu & to help ensure repeat business)...the cheese dip they serve before the meal with tortilla chips lacks flavor and I didn't see the point. The guacamole with pumpkin seeds... not impressive, interesting idea but I wasn't wanting more. The nachos were lacking as well... the black beans had no flavor and the dish simply wasn't memorable. I got the pumpkin chicken dish with artichokes and portobello mushroom ($13)... sounded promising but the only reason I cleaned my plate was due to being hungry not because I wanted to savor every last bite. Would I return based on poor customer service and mediocre menu... NO... I will not. If you are single and want a place to be "seen" with good atmosphere & don't care about how food tastes as long as it's the latest & greatest according to "everyone"... then this may be for you. I for one prefer good customer service, free of discrimination of any kind, and a good meal that I savor & can't wait to return to sample all they have to offer.. this is NOT that place :( read more

Far and away, disappointing. Location, great. Food, good, but cold on the buffet. Service today, terrible. I have dined at Jack Allen's several times and this was the worst. Mainly due to service. I took a group of friends that had never been and I told them how crazy good this place is for brunch. Basically, here is how it works at brunch, it's a buffet but the server brings drinks, cooked to order pancakes, biscuits and eggs. Our waiter asked for our drink order but never offered any of the above items, I had to ask him. Our table was constantly out of water, mimosas and had dirty dishes on it. I had to flag down my server to bring more drinks and take away our dirty plates. This is probably the busiest day of the week for them and I never even saw a manager. Where to start....first of all...THANK YOU Jack Allen's for coming to Westlake. This location was a revolving door for years. Jack Allen's has transformed the space into a vibrant hub of happy wait staff, quick service and quality food. It always draws a great lunch crowd and they do a fantastic job about getting people in and out. The patio is a perfect place to get some fresh air during a lunch meeting or grab an adult beverage for happy hour. Food- Have not had a single menu item I didn't like. My go to is their Ruby Trout dish on the specials. It's been on their for a long time so it seems as though it should become a fixed menu item. Their guacamole is outstanding with pepitas and cotija cheese. Everything is fresh, cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. I've been to 2 other JAK's in Austin/RR area. This one was just as good as all the rest. AND...Jack Allen was there eating with his family, taking pictures out front. It was wild---I saw him on the book cover and was like, "Hey...I think that IS Jack Allen!" and, it was! I didn't say anything (as he was with a huge group of folks), but it was cool nonetheless to see him in person, eating in his own place. Came here for brunch. Got mimosa, may be over priced. $4 for one? You can get for $1 at the park, and tastes the same. But the food is really good! I could tell they are prepared and cooked by each, instead of the typical buffet place. Cooked all at once. I will come back for food but will not get drinks. read more

My husband decided to try Jack Allen's on 360 for the first time this past weekend. We were starting our first anniversary weekend on the way out of town and decided to stop for a quick dinner. I was so excited when I looked at the menu before arriving because of the gluten free options. We arrived and it was very clean and welcoming. My husband ordered the chicken fried ribs and he was very impressed. I ordered the gluten free cilantro pesto chicken, which was good. However the food portion compared to my husband and those around me was very disappointing. The reason for my review is due to our waiter. He was not very friendly or attentive and we felt like a nuisance. He was not very personable at all and I would've asked about other dishes but he didn't seem too happy so I just stuck with what I found online and ordered it. Our table backed up to the wait staff area and it was less than pleasant to hear our waiter along with a couple others complaining about other customers. We were impressed the restaurant and the quality of food but terribly disappointed in some of the wait staff. read more
