Got some shorts cleaned and pressed and dropped off some Ropers for a heel cap replacement. The three shirts were over $14 and the boots were $30. The boot work was outstanding and I was pleased. I tried to drop off some shirts at the Kyle, Tx location just now but was greeted with a locked door and a sign saying, "Bathroom, be right back". After 20 minutes of waiting it became apparent that this was not a bathroom break, there was nobody in the store. Eventually a woman opened the door, I walked in and was immediately verbally attacked and questioned as to why I was knocking on the door. I asked her why the store was locked and closed during posted business hours. When I asked the young woman's name, she refused service and told me to "Have a nice day". When I pressed and asked why I had to sit out front for 20 minutes, during their daytime hours of operation, she said that her manager posted the sign. I politely asked for both her and her manager's names and she continued to repeat, "Have a nice day" and refusing me service. I have video of the entire encounter. To make sure everyone understands, the doors were locked during regular posted business hours, nobody was in the store, nobody was answering the phones, there was no physical presence. When I finally did get inside and inquired as to what was going on, I was denied service. How many ways and/or times can Jack Brown fail in one interaction?! I have been a customer of Jack Brown since the late 90's. No more. This is a perfect example of how not to take care of guests, how not to behave and how to ruin an otherwise easy interaction. I take special occasion cloths to be dry cleaned. I usually get them cleaned and put them in my closet to store them for the next occasion. Thats what I did with a pair of dress pants. I brought it in July and opened the wrappings this Thanksgiving day. I was surprised to see that they gave me the wrong pair of paints in a size I have not been in 30 years.When I brought it back the day after Thanksgiving I was told that I should have inspected it when I picked it up and anyway, they are not responsible for anything beyond 30 days. I don't know about others but when I bring in something to be cleaned, I expect the same thing cleaned and ready for me to be picked up. I don't think its reasonable to inspect the item to see if its the correct size. My only inspection was yes, its a pair of pants and second, its the correct color. This was not a cheap pair of pants. My pants usually cost me $75 because of my size (46x34) and material. If I can find another dry cleaners, I will make it a point not to ever go to a "Jack Brown Cleaners". If you do go there, when you pick up your cloths, check each item for size color and if a specific stain was removed. New to town so thought I would give them a try with some of my moms clothes that needed spotting and a jacket that needed cleaning. All items came back with the same spots, although they were bigger. The clerk didn't respond when I questioned her. The jacket had the same dingy cuffs and didn't seem cleaned at all. Wasted over $72. Manager texted to ask for a call to see how they did. Called her and all she said was "I will let the district managers know. Have a good one!" Poor customer service and work ethic. Unbelievable!!! Jack Brown Cleaners (store#7) damaged my Indian Sari table runner. Upon realizing my Sari had torn holes in the material, I had called the store and spoke manager. She had told me that I need to bring garment in so "regional manager could take a look at it" I asked her what Jack Brown policy was and or how they usually handle such things. Manager replies that she "doesn't know" and I "would have to wait until regional manager sees it". Several days pass and I receive Zer0 communication. I finally call and the manager tells me that I will be reimbursed in 2weeks. I asked her when I can pick up my Sari and she then informs me that Jack Brown RETURNED my SARI to their insurance!!! I am LIVID!!! No one asked me or called me. I would much rather have kept my Sari damaged then to have been given money. This Sari is a religious item and CAN NOT be REPLACED !!! Unbelievable! I of course voice all of this to manager over phone and her reply is that they can not retrieve my Sari as it has already been sent. On top of all that I am supposedly to be reimbursed in 2weeks! Let's recap all this shall we. 1. They damage irreplaceable religious item. 2. "send item away to no return" 3. and in two weeks then Jack Brown will reimburse me the assumed value. I have consistently had a problem with the quality of work. I have two simple dress shirts that continues to get returned to me with the collars still dirty. When I tried to address the problem, I was told that the collars can be tricky to clean and that it can be a hit or miss. The prices are a lot higher compared to other dry cleaners in the area. I have contacted my local store but failed to receive any semblance of customer service. On November 2, my husband picked up $131.74 of dry cleaning. I didn't conduct an inventory when he brought the cleaning home but on November 14, I looked for my khaki Ann Taylor jacket and it was missing. I personally gathered the cleaning for him to take so I knew it was included. I immediately contacted Jack Brown and the young lady working stated that she did have it listed on the ticket but that it wasn't at the store. She stated she would call the warehouse and call me the following day. I didn't receive a return call. I gave her an opportunity to research the issue. I was traveling the following week and when I returned, I contacted the store because two weeks had lapsed without a call. I called last night to inquire and she stated that she had communicated the issue to the manager and the manager had failed to follow up. The manager called me today and basically told me that she had the jacket listed but she couldn't do anything for me because she counts each item when it comes in so there is no way that my jacket wasn't included. I paid $228 for the jacket and I wore it one time. I am now being told that there is nothing that Jack Brown will do even though my jacket was lost. She further stated that it is my fault because I failed to call her the same day. When I asked why she didn't call me the following day, she stated that she must have made a mistake. I asked if she could have made a mistake counting the hangars on my order and her response was, "I have been doing this # years and I am damn good at my job." I pointed out that customer service is obviously an issue because it took a second call for her to return my call. I asked her for the district managers contact information. I had to call her back because she gave me a fax number. When I called her back, she told me I was wrong that the number was accurate and I had to explain several times it was a fax number. After calling the second number, I contacted her again because the number was for accounting and it indicated it was not for customer complaints. She again stated that is the only number that we have for customers to call. We spend on average $150 - $300 per month on dry cleaning. I have held off taking any cleaning this month because of this issue. I obviously cannot continue to utilize Jack Brown based on this incident. I understand at this point Jack Brown is not going to take any responsibility for losing my jacket. Rather than offering an apology, all I got from Brandy was "it's your fault for not checking the same day". It is obvious that even had I called the same day, I would have received the same response, "we didn't lose your jacket because we counted the number of hangars." Brandy is a sad excuse for a professional. I will not return to Jack Brown and I will exercise my ability to communicate my experience through social media. December 2011 Update: The owners of Jack Brown, unlike the Kyle manager, contacted me, apologized and reimbursed me for the cost of the jacket. Jack Brown did remedy the situation but I still will not use the Kyle location as long as Brandy manages it. read more

What an inconvenience. The retail store said, no that is the cleaners fault for ruining the dress. So I was out the $14.51 for dry cleaning and my expensive dress, what a mess! I'm disgusted with the service I received here. The woman was rude and on a personal phone call when I arrived to pick up my dry cleaning. I presented a coupon, to which I was told it had to be given when I dropped off the dry cleaning (she says "see the little print"). No, apparently I did not. This review relates to Jack Brown corporate, not really the Kyle location, although that's where we had the bad experience. My husband bought a $179 silk robe-quite a splurge-and as soon as he tried it on (it was an online purchase), we agreed the sleeves should be shortened. He took it to Jack Brown and a few days later we got a call that it was ready. I picked it up, brought it home and later that evening after he had showered, he put it on and sat down to watch tv. That's when he saw the snips and snags covering (in a repeating pattern) an area about 8" high and 12" wide, near the hem. It looked iike it might have gotten caught in some sort of machine. It was obviously not a fabric flaw because there were obvious repeating snips that had to have been made with scissors or some cutting device. It was not that way when it arrived. He would definitely have noticed because he's that sort of person. I took it back and showed it to the nice woman and filled out a damage claim. She even said she remembered that it was brand new when my husband brought it in. However, Steve Brown, the regional manager, denied it saying that since the belt was on the robe when we first brought it in, it had obviously been worn, meaning, I presume, that my husband caused the damage. Huh? Yes, it was worn. It was worn (i.e. tried on) when we received it to determine how short the sleeves should be and again the evening we picked it up from being altered. Silly us. If we'd known that leaving the tie-belt on the robe would be the difference between being believed and not being believed, we would have taken it off. I called Paul Brown to ask for a reconsideration. I left a message and did not get a return call. A week later, I left another message. That was 4 weeks ago, and I'm still waiting. One would think he could at least call to say no. My advice should you need alterations or even dry-cleaning is to take a picture of your item with a Jack Brown employee standing in the picture to prove the condition of the item when you drop it off. Otherwise, you are at their mercy. read more

Awful experience at Jack Brown Cleaners in Kyle. They tore my deceased fathers suit and then proceeded to tell me it was already like that and then asked if I wanted to pay cash or card??? I asked that the store manager call me first thing in the morning to discuss and finally gave up on her calling me at 3pm the next day and picked up the phone. She told me she had been busy and that she had spoke to the district manager and there was nothing they were going to do for me. Neither she nor the store employee ever even offered to do something as simple as cover the cost of the cleaning. When I started to express my frustration she started having a sidebar conversation with someone else while she was still on the phone with me. Zero customer service. I am heartbroken about my Dad's suit but the way I was treated made it even worse. I will never use this company again and will gladly drive to Austin for Dry Cleaning in the future. Mostly adequate service over two years of using them 2-3 times per month for business suits, shirts and pants. With that said, I have now had two pair of suit pants shredded/sheared in the same way and in the same location upon return from the Kyle location. The shredding occurs about an inch or so from the seam near the crotch of the pants. I suspect it is from when the press moves into position. The damage is about 6-8 inches in length and 2-3 inches in width. It is not a noticeable tear when the pants are hung up and wrapped in plastic, which means I don't notice it until I get to my business travel destination and take them off the hanger. It is highly frustrating. The events happened about 18 months apart. Having dealt with cleaners, before I know better than to try and dispute this and from my location, there aren't any other practical options for me to change cleaners at this time. If I could give this place, zero stars I would. It really takes a lot for me to write a negative review on a business, but in this case, I feel I must. I just went to Jack Brown cleaners in Kyle to pick up a bunch of clothes. One of the items was a pair of capri pants that were brought in have the hem repaired. One side was down and needed repair. I even showed the girl there the issue when I dropped them off. I told her to go ahead and have the seamstress reinforce both hems while she was at it. However, upon picking them up today, I checked to insure it was a good job and the hem was not done. I asked the girl about it and she said that it was my fault because I only asked for one side to be done. Excuse me? She said the side I wanted was pinned by whoever took them in and I must've told her the wrong side. First off....I can't help it if the girl doesn't know left from right. But regardless, if you bring pants in to have a hem "repaired", wouldn't you think the seamstress, upon noticing their is nothing wrong with the "pinned" side would check the other and clearly see that it was "pinned" in error? It doesn't take a rocket scientist, does it? Instead of offering my money back, or saying she would rush to get it done before I leave town, the girl at the counter blamed it on me. TAKE NOTE: Do not use this inept cleaners for your needs. They simply are unable to follow basic instructions, and when they don't, they would rather blame it on the customer than take responsibility. She did offer to fix it once I get back in town, but that does me no good since I need to take them with me. Now I will have to take the time I didn't have originally (hence I took them to the cleaners) to do the job myself....and I got the privilege for paying for them at that. DO NOT USE THEM. read more

I use to be a Jack Brown customer when living in South Austin. The quality gradually degraded and they began losing or destroying my clothes. We finally found another cleaner in South Austin we were happy with. We have since moved to Kyle, and decided to give Jack Brown a second chance, namely due to convenience. Wow, what a mistake, they average destroying or staining about 40% on my laundered shirts, extremely expensive shirts!!! I can no longer accept the loss of my destroyed clothing. I have a very smiliar situation to Tammy M. I had a St John's jacket cleaned at the Round Rock (I-35 and Hwy 79) location. I picked it up and put it in the closet. When I next went to wear it I noticed it was now a short jacket with 1/2-3/4 sleeves. I contacted the manager of the Round Rock location and they "tried" to restretch it with no results. She said Mr. Brown told her the jacket was defective from the manufacturer. She then told me to call Terry Brown which I did on 3 occasions with no return call. I also took the jacket to the original St John's store and as soon as they looked at it they told me it had been washed and not dry cleaned as I requested. I then went to another location my daughter uses and the manager there told me that it appeared it had been laundered. I asked why that would happen when I specifically said to dry clean. She said the people at the cleaning facility make the decision as how to handle. She then told me to call Paul Brown which I did on 7/27. It is now 8/20 and he still has NOT returned my call. Would love to know how Tammy M finally got their attention as I have called, sent letters, and called some more. read more

I took a tuxedo shirt and western dress shirt along with two pairs of Wranglers to be heavy starched at Jack Brown Cleaners. We had a charity fundraiser Denim and Diamonds Event to attend. When I went to pick up the shirts I commented that the shirts were not very stiff, and the attendant told me that sometimes the material can reject the starch. I arrived home and found Jack Brown's instruction receipt was still attached to the bag. The receipt showed that they requested light starch instead of heavy. I called the store and told them how unhappy I was since I was going to have to re-starch clothes at home that I just picked up from Jack Brown Cleaners. I politely expressed my disappointment and that I was not happy paying for dry cleaning that was not done to my requests. I was assured there would be no problems when I dropped them off. The employee just apologized and offered no further options. I expressed I do not feel like I will use Jack Brown Cleaners again based upon the service received and, he said I understand and apologized. He was very polite, but does that sound like good customer service to you. I would have liked a manager to call me. I will probably still request a manager to call on Monday after this event is over this weekend. I am very disappointed over this incident since I have my hands full with completing the preparations for the event and have to take time out to starch clothes I paid to be heavy starched and they had very little starch. read more
