The best beef barley soup I've ever had! Tender chunks of beef in a beautiful brown broth..plenty of barley. My husband and I both had the salmon, which came with a baked potato and asparagus. Two portions each! Excellent! Enough for another meal. Service was great as well. This is still an iconic supper club. Im so glad we decided to come here tonight!

As someone who is pretty picky about supper clubs, I can confidently say that Jack Gibbons did a fantastic job. The music and ambience give off that perfect, authentic old-school vibe that is so hard to find these days. We started the night with drinks, and their Cosmos, Old-Fashioneds, and Manhattans were all expertly crafted and delicious. You also have to try the bread and that incredible creamy garlic dressing and balsamic vinegar dressing for the salad, both were absolute highlights. For the main course, I had the shrimp and turf with a baked potato, and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his steak and scalloped potatoes; everything was high-quality and cooked to perfection. We saved room for dessert, and I'm so glad we did, the Grasshopper milkshake was a nostalgic treat, and the lemon cake was light, refreshing, and the perfect finish to the meal. I'll definitely be back!

Saturday evening, party of 8 for an 80th birthday celebration. We arrived at 4pm, restaurant was filling up fast. Ordered 7 filets+1 porterhouse dinner (me) soup salads side dishes decadent desserts drinks + more. Check was $800 + tip. It was worth every cent!!

    Twice baked potato

Steak lover!!!!!! Meals were 4.7 stars and this is the highest I've ever given. Went with family so we tried the best of the best. I'd say prime rib was #1 T-bone was #2 and The Del Monaco was #3 Twice baked potatoes were 5 stars. Best I've ever had! Hands down. Cole slaw was 3 stars. I'm very picky with Cole slaw. Now to elaborate. If you love rosemary seasoning the Delmonico will be it for you. Perfectly charred and cooked to perfection. The prime rib was all around perfection. Flavor, tenderness and presentation was spot on. T-bone was mouthwatering and had the best flavor and eloquent char. Well done jack gibbons!!!! Now, our server was par. Didn't show enthusiasm, it wasn't too busy and I feel a They did the bare minimum to accommodate us. 3 stars and I'm being generous. The restaurant is not in a busy place, which I love. The atmosphere is darker like a good fellas restaurant. No windows, but visually pleasing to the eye

It's an excellent choice for special occasions or a date night -- upscale without being pretentious, and comfortable enough to settle in and enjoy the evening. The service is always great, attentive, and professional, which elevates the entire experience. A standout suburban steakhouse that holds its own against the big names downtown. Highly recommended.

SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT ... my friend and I selected The Primal Cut for our monthly girls night out…read more Our radar started to go up when our waitress seemed to not have the most inviting personality. Very dry ... very robotic... almost like... just give me your order so we can all go on with our lives. Shortly after placing our orders, the table next to us was seated with new customers. Our waitress waited on them as well. Being so close we could hear everything. What was most noticeable was how our waitress came to life for them. Initially I justified our waitress as just having a bad day. But when she became bright eyed, bubbly and conversational with them ... I went to the next, more obvious reason... seeing as how they were a party of 4 and we were a party of 2. The only other difference was - that table was white and we were black. Now our reservation was at 5:30pm. We were seated by 5:45pm as I was told that since my reservation specifically requested the "furthest booth from the entrance", they were still waiting for that table to become available. That was fine! Remember this - I requested a booth furthest from the entrance. It wasn't their idea. You'll see how this comes up later. We placed our order around 6pm. Could have been a little later. But I know for sure our main course didn't come out until 7pm. No complaints about the food on my end. But I do have a problem with being told when the bill comes that 1) there is a mandatory 18% gratuity added for parties of 2 and 2) there is a 3.5% fee for using your credit card. Neither of these stipulations were disclosed at the time the reservation was made. In fact, within the reservation confirmation email, there is a section that says "What to know before you go"... You know what it says? It says: " YOU ARE CONFIRMED. Thank you for choosing Primal Cut Steakhouse. Should your plans change, please let us know. We look forward to serving you." Nothing about the mandatory gratuity. Nothing about the 3.5% fee for using your credit card. After arriving home later that evening, I scoured through their website only to find these details were deeply embedded within their website. You have to click on "Menu" and then scroll ALL THE WAY DOWN to the end of the menu in order to find these details. This seems very deceptive. Something as important as this should be on the main page of their website. Especially within the Reservation Confirmation!! Customers should not be expected to read through the entire menu to find this out, or like us, find out once the final bill arrives. Something else I did not find on their website and wasn't included within our reservation confirmation was that you are only allowed 90 minutes to occupy your table/booth. Here's how we found out... By 8pm, who I believe to be the manager approached our table and asked how we enjoyed our meal. She then goes on to say "I know you ladies were chatting away, and that's why we gave you this booth so far away" ...(did you catch that... not that I requested it in my reservation)... She goes on to say "But each reservation is only valid for 90 minutes and we are getting backed up, and need to give this table to other customers... so if you wouldn't mind..." As mentioned earlier, the 90-minute seating time for our reservation was NOT disclosed beforehand. Not on their website (not that I can find), and not on the reservation confirmation. Keep in mind - even if that is their rule, it took an hour to get our main entrée. It was 7pm by then. By 8pm they were giving us the boot. Additionally, there were only 2 people waiting to be seated when we arrived. I didn't see a line, or a "back-up" as the Manager claimed. Needless to say, I believe this was very deceptive by not CLEARLY & OPENLY disclosing that 1) there is a mandatory 18% gratuity added for parties of 2, #2) there is a 3.5% fee for using your credit card and 3) Each reservation is only for 90 minutes. Regardless of the time your main entrée is served. If Financial Institutions and other establishments are required to be fully transparent and disclose their fees and stipulations around services rendered why wouldn't The Primal Cut?? After getting home and looking at other reviews, it seems other Brown and Black people have also experienced questionable treatment here as well... so this is nothing new... just not addressed. We all work hard for our money. For me, I'd rather spend it at an establishment that makes me feel like the prize and works hard to earn the money I've worked hard for and leaves me in eager anticipation of my next visit. I didn't get this here and will happily spend my money elsewhere.

They were highly attentive and responded to all of our needs quickly and happily in a very friendly, courteous way, Daisy and her team of bus support were unbelievably attentive. If you go on a day that she is there, ask to be seated in her section. Good service with good food has a tendency to take your experience to atmospheric levels! The bread baskets were filled with rustic Italian bread that was so delicious I thought I was at a trattoria in the rolling hills of Tuscany. Instead of butter, the upscale olive oil dip was very authentic. The menu offers a wide variety of choices for everyone that appeals to carnivores and vegetarians alike. Pastas, beef, pork, lamb and seafood. I asked to substitute one starch for another and the chef made it happen! The food was incredibly fresh. My dining companions has the Maple glazed salmon. The other had the lamb chops. Both raved about the freshness of their meals as well as the perfection to which their dishes were cooked! I had the scallops and substituted the starch with Truffle Fries. The theatrics associated with the presentation of my scallops was breathtaking. It was au flambé! They were so fresh and slightly crusted, i'd never tasted anything that delicious before. Even popular and legendary EAST COAST seafood restaurants could learn a lot about the preparation and presentation of scallops. My meal appropriately mixed textures, tangy tartness and sweetness in the veggie dish consisting of chopped zucchini sweet potatoes and spinach. The way that our meals were plated and presented was sheer "ART," worthy of a museum display. It's a bit pricey, but worth every penny! If I were to recommend an enhancement, I'd recommend some soft background music/jazz or a singer and pianist. It's that type of place. We were celebrating a friend's birthday. The presentation was spectacular! I can't wait to dine al fresco when the weather permits!

They did the right thing and comped the wine and I asked for the manager and he never came. The worst thing to our party was the added convenience fee for using a charge card. What? They should put that fee in the price of the meal- no one carries around $450 in cash to pay for a high end meal. There were 4 of us and we all said we would not come back due to that simple fact - silly way to do business.
