The GREAT Fry taste off is here!!! This taste test was based on fries only. With the help of 5 other willing fast food extraordinaire people we tasted tested the following French fries from the following locations. In n out (Vallejo) McDonald's (admiral Callahan next to Target) Carl's Jr. (Sonoma Blvd) Burger King (Sonoma Blvd) Jack in the box (American canyon) 3 of us departed and divvied up the task of driving to the various locations so that we could arrive back at our home with all fries as fresh as possible. We tasted the fries and judged them purely on flavor and personal preference. Then once we have our favorite we wrote them down and then tasted them with ketchup (we used Hines ketchup instead of any of the fast food joints). All fries were listed A-E with one restaurant's fries being listed twice (Carl's jr). The fries were placed out of their box onto a plate and placed beneath the plates were sticky notes A-E. Once the fries were on the plate they were then mixed up to help create a blind study as much as possible for the 1 person that distributed the fries. Everyone has one 1st place vote to use for the tasting without ketchup and with ketchup. And the winner was... Without ketchup the winner was Burger King with 3 first place votes of possible 6 votes. Jack in the box finished 2nd with one 1st place vote (this was placed ahead of the other fries that had one vote each for 1st based on group consensus). McDonald's and Carl's Jr. finished 3rd and 4th with one 1st place vote each. In n out received zero first place votes ( my pride was hurt here!!) With ketchup the results were fairly similar. BK and JB finished tied with ketchup by both having two 1st place votes. McDonalds and Carl's Jr. tied with one 1st place vote each with ketchup. Again In n out was last with zero 1st place votes. As an In n Out die hard fan I will say that they were the first bought fries and were not as fresh tasting as the others. read more

I checked the sandwich name: you're thinking of the Homestyle Ranch Chicken Club. It has crispy chicken, Swiss-style cheese, hickory-smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, and buttermilk ranch on brioche. For the review, I'd make the manager's comment the centerpiece, because slow service and bad food can make someone stop visiting, but deliberately sending out an order you know is wrong is a completely different issue. The Homestyle Ranch Chicken Club is legitimately one of my favorite fast-food chicken sandwiches. I probably like it better than Chick-fil-A. And with that being said, I will still never go back to this Jack in the Box, even though it is close to my house. This location used to be good. The food was good, the restaurant was clean, and we went there regularly. Starting about a year ago, though, the quality seemed to go downhill fast. Food started coming out overcooked, sometimes tasting like the fryer oil desperately needed to be changed, and the wait times became ridiculous. One time we ordered food for three people and spent more than 20 minutes actually trapped in the drive-through. There were only a couple of cars ahead of us when we arrived, so this wasn't a long line of people waiting to order. We were all just waiting for food. When ours finally came, it was completely cold, making me wonder how long it had been sitting there while we waited. But even that isn't why I won't go back. The final straw was an order of 24 of their two-for-a-dollar-style tacos. We ordered all 24 with NO LETTUCE. When we arrived to pick them up, I specifically asked the employee, "No lettuce, right?" He said yes, then went over to the woman who had the order and double-checked with her. She appeared to be the manager. He asked her if the tacos had no lettuce. She told him that no, they actually DID have lettuce, but to just leave them that way because we probably wouldn't notice until we got home and, by then, we probably wouldn't be willing to come all the way back. The problem was, we were standing right there. I don't think she realized the people she was talking about were close enough to hear her. Mistakes happen. Restaurants get busy. Orders get made incorrectly. Fryer oil gets old. Sometimes service is slow. I can overlook a lot, especially at a fast-food restaurant. What I cannot overlook is a manager knowing an order was made incorrectly and making a conscious decision to give it to the customer anyway because she assumed we wouldn't discover it until it was too inconvenient to return. She was right about one thing: I'm not willing to come back. Just not in the way she meant. read more

Today, April 21st, 2026 at 7 AM. I had a very disappointing experience at this Jack in the Box location this morning. There was a long wait before anyone even took my order. There were only two employees present, no other customers inside, and very few cars outside. Despite clearly seeing me waiting, they ignored me and walked around without acknowledging me. One of the employees left, and the other--who was also handling the drive-thru with a headset--still took an unreasonable amount of time before finally taking my order. Both of them were very rude and unprofessional. The food was just as bad. My order was incomplete, and when they brought the missing items later, the hash browns were cold. Even the coffee was cold, which is unacceptable for a morning order. I paid over $10-12 for a meal that was poorly prepared and clearly not handled with any care. I don't expect perfection, but I do expect basic respect and properly prepared food. This place failed on both. I won't be coming back, and I would not recommend this location to anyone read more

I went there to buy food using the discount coupon I received from the mail today and they didn't honor it. The cashier asked the manager and the manager just told her it's only good for 15 days and even though the coupon says good up to the end of December. Went through the drive thru and ordered tacos and curly fries. After waiting about 5 minutes I got my order. I pulled around the parking lot opened the bag and the complete order was cold. I went back returned the order and when I got back to the car same thing to the point one of the tacos the cheese wasn't event melted. This has been the case the last two times I've gone. Good drive thru window service at least the staff was nice. It would certainly be a great favor for both the customer and the staff if there was an overhead coverage by a big umbrella or a structure of some sort at the ordering spot. It was raining and winds blowing, along with the traffic noise, which made my ordering experience a challenge. Its very disappointing to see workers here don't use gloves when making customers food. I ordered tacos and nuggets and as I wait on my food, I was just watching how unorganized they are. I saw the male cook behind making our tacos and its very disgusting that this person is not even wearing gloves, as well as the the Lady who handles the cashier. Shes touching so much money from the cashier and turns to her back to put together the burger with bare hands with no gloves and without washing hands at all. I like how they're decently fast. 2 stars. I love Jack In The Box but I know I can't have it often. This location helps me with my cravings...as in despising Jack In The Box. I've been to this location numerous times at different hours of day and night. There was never a crowd, but anything I ordered was sloppily made and dry. I can't tell them specifically what I want because they always mess it up if I tried to customize my order. $5 for a dry burger every time, and simply an unflattering presentation. I've been going to this Jack In the Box since I was in 8th grade. The lunch and dinner has always been pretty good. I've only had the breakfast a couple of times and today I was feeling hungry and wanted something to munch on at work. I went and grabbed a number 29 meal which is some kind of grilled breakfast sandwich, so they claim. It's mostly just toasted bread witch meat and cheese inside and that's about it. When I opened it, they hadn't even cut it. They just gave me one big glob of a sandwich. But whatever, no biggie I can make do. I felt weird with how the sandwich look so I checked under the bread and found this green mark on my egg. The slight discoloration made me uncomfortable so I stopped eating it. I peeked in the egg and didn't see anything to crazy so I'm not sure what it was. All I know is it wasn't green eggs and ham day and I wouldn't trust food from an establishment that has anything green on it. Unless it's lettuce or guacamole. It may seem sacrilegious not to eat trendy, overpriced food while in Napa Valley but I want good, hot food and do not want to light money on fire doing it. So when I am in need of some good comfort food on my way into Napa, I stop at the JITB in American Canyon. Unfortunately, the quality of the JITB experience is like fuel economy -- yours may vary. I've been to terrible Jacks in Southern California but American Canyon is among my favorites (up there with Los Altos, Lafayette, and Millbrae near SFO, and Sea-Tac in Seattle). The staff here are friendly and efficient, and my food is always hot. I usually go with 2 chicken sandwiches, 4 tacos and an ice tea to wash it all down. Enjoy! read more

I was just in the drive thru at this location Sunday Nov 11 2019 12:05am midnight. The woman working the drive thru told me to give her a minute... 5 minutes passed and mind you the screen said something about system issues so I was concerned I'd be waiting there forever just to be told to leave so I said "hello."
