Today's soup with a matzoh ball type of soup. It was so good all three of us devoured this!

My mom and my son and I all went here for lunch today just after 1 PM. OMG this place was so good! We started with the soup and it was 10 out of 10. I had the Wiener schnitzel. My mom had the jager schnitzel and my son had the lamb shank and everything was either a nine out of 10 or 10 out of 10. Service was phenomenal.

Came here for a drink on a random Thursday night. Cute, old German spot. We sat at the bar, and enjoyed a cocktail. They even gave us some bread and a cheese spread-which was very good and unexpected. Our bartender was a little quirky and fun. Though I didn't order food, the meals around me looked amazing! I would be interested to come back for a fish fry!

Came here for the first time in search of a new fish fry spot. We were seated right away. Definitely has a supper club vibe. Our waitress gave us some crisp bread for the table and a sesame roll which was my favorite and rye bread. The old fashioned was delicious. You get the option of soup or salad. I opted for the clam chowder and my goodness it was delicious. One of the best i have ever had i ate the whole thing with the sesame roll. I ordered broiled cod with potato pancakes however i think i was given walleye instead. I still ate it. It was absolutely delicious. The potato pancakes were perfection with applesauce. Definitely will be back and hopefully i can have the broiled cod next time. The regular fried fish is also delicious. Definitely a lot of locals here. This is easily my new favorite spot for fish fry. Fantastic service. Will be returning.

We were there for a Sunday brunch. Great value of $27 that includes pastries, beverages, mimosas/champagne, breakfast or lunch entree. Ambiance was good and service was great!

I would like to first say that the service I had was wonderful. The waitress was quick, efficient, and very friendly. Another good thing was that the ambiance on the patio was very nice. That is all of the good things I could possibly say here. My sister ordered the onion rings and they were cold. They came out quickly? Not sure how they could be deep fried and cold. No flavor other than fry oil but very disappointing.. The prices, are grossly over what is fair for the quality and portion of what is delivered. Two hockey pucks of deep fried cat food "whitefish" for $29?!? Criminal. Is the person cooking the food a microwave? That would be more understandable. Thank god for the tartar sauce that came with the fish cakes or this would have been wholly inedible. $16 for a side of what was the most bland spatzel of my life also felt criminally expensive but was a step down from the let down of the crab cakes. I think the menu could use a revamp? Someone check on the team in the kitchen, I think someone might be asleep at the fryer.. For now, I wouldn't return until some serious improvements could be made to food quality.

    Cozy rainy day!

I felt transported to a village inn somewhere in Britain. The interior looked vintage but it wasn't moldy or old. Clean curtains, white table cloths, fresh carnation in a vase, wonderfully placed silverware and beautiful plate wear. Even looking out to the patio gardens was a flowered feast for the eyes. I had the roladen which was so soft, I never needed a knife. A fork will more than suffice. Wonderful flavors. This is NOT a diner and NOT a place for a quick bite to eat. It's a place to relax, to talk and to enjoy your meal. Soft orchestral sounds in the background. Server was a sweetheart. Big parking lot. Small ladies restroom. There is a separate bar/seating area. Lots of parking.

The food here was so comforting and really tasted homemade. Huge portions. Lots of options! Would recommend!

She immediately ordered us the carnivore tots. You may not want to order them if you are just two people and also want to eat dinner as they are huge and very good. We regretted our life choices and stuffed ourselves. The only thing that I can suggest is adding a bunch of chopped green onions and some sour cream to it. That's what we did with the leftovers after reheating them in the air fryer and that made it even better. I ordered us a three piece fish fry to split. My wife got mad at me when the food arrived because we got so much food that she thought I had ordered us two orders but nope. The bill came and it was just a single order. She apologized. I stopped by for a scoop of mint chip custard and it was creamy, rich, cool, and delicious. But - really is there no bad day for custard? No, there isn't! This place is busy all year round, and for good reason. For the custard, there is usually a flavor of the day, plus the usual favorites, vanilla and chocolate, plus a sundae and shake of the month. A sign outdoors advertises the flavor of the day and a monthly menu of each flavor of the day is available online, if you want to plan ahead for your visit. If you've not been to this Milwaukee icon, it's a must-stop; the custard is really, really good. The retail store is set up like a 50s type diner, and there are plenty of folks ready to take your order. There is no seating indoors, just a few tables for standing-only to munch and chat. However, there is outdoor seating like a mini amphitheater on cement steps, and when the weather is nice, it is not unusual to see large groups of customers sitting outside eating ice cream or other treats or burgers. The menu also includes burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries, shakes, malts, floats, and sundaes, too.

Moxie is kind of known for their martinis, and have a whole section on their menu for them, so naturally that's what I gravitated towards. I can't recall the name of the one I chose, but essentially it was Hendrick Gin, cucumber, and mint. So refreshing. My husband had a bourbon cocktail of sorts and really enjoyed it too. We weren't in the mood for full-dinner so instead shared the short rib medallions from the apps list. Those were tasty! Perfectly cooked braised short rib on top polenta medallions with bourbon-marinated peaches and cambozola cheese... what's not to love?
