Two weeks before I had come from another bar because I was given a Long Island tea by the bar tender without knowing what was in it (they picked it for me) i'm not used to drinking so it was a lot on my body, so I went to the next bar over to get water which was Jackalope lounge. They seem fine and also worried about me because I had so much to drink. I was just standing in the corner the entire time drinking water, not talking to anybody. I then left with no issues. I come back two weeks later to find out that I guess I can't be there on busy nights anymore because I threw up a lot. I know for a fact, I did not throw up I remember the entire night and all I did was go to the bathroom multiple times to pee because I was drinking so much water. I just decided to leave because I didn't wanna cause any issues but I know for a fact I did not throw up. I'm extremely upset. I can't be there because of something that didn't happen. Came here after the art festival and the bartender is super nice! There's a ton of game boards to choose from to keep entertained. We were sitting at the bar so we selected a trivia card game to save space. They also have specials like the beer and a shot at a cheap price! Definitely coming back when I'm downtown! read more

!!Service was HORRIBLE 12/30/24!! 20 mins before closing my friends and I walk into this bar with they're OPEN sign on. Server very rude like asks for all of our ID's and makes hints that he will be closing SOON. We stop to decide if we wanna stay cause we can feel his hostility, but he persists to take our orders. I'm deeply disappointed by my experience at this restraint. My father and I were treated with complete disrespect simply because of our skin color. Not only were we unfairly accused of being intoxicated, but we were also kicked out for no reason other than our appearance (myself being military, and other Law Enforcement. This behavior is unacceptable, and no one should ever be made to feel unwelcome or mistreated because of their race. It's clear that this restaurant does not value inclusivity or basic decency. I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this establishment unless they want to experience the same blatant discrimination. Staying walking distance from here. Found on these apps and it seemed cool. In town for a heavy metal show. Got a beer right away! Hit the men's room. Guy who seemed like a regular based off us walking in at the same time called me a homophobic slur (fa**ot) three times while I was at the urinal and I tried to ignore him and observed he was cutting up blow with a knife. Nothing against blow folk but the name calling and homophobia kind of threatening with the knife? I got out of there ASAP but looking back kind of wish I smashed his face into the sink. Went there for pride Sunday afternoon, I feel like I was the only sober person there so when I took a shot of vodka I was surprised that it went down so easily. I was a designated driver for a friend of mine that wanted to come here for a few beers after work. Ashley was our bartender. AWESOME, AWESOME lady!! Very polite to everyone, even when patrons were not following her rules. I noticed a lady come in with a guy, obviously very drunk already.. The lady tried to say that she comes here all the time (not producing ID immediately).. Ashley said: "I still need to see your ID" - Which is perfectly fine, polite, and acceptable... Unlike another bar that has an issue with that. Ashley is awesome!! She makes the atmosphere enjoyable, and keeps the place fun to be around. She may be tiny, but dynamite comes in small packages. Love this place!! Next day still working, Todd was my bartender. Very polite, always kept my drinks filled! I would give more stars if I could! Nothing but smiles! You know, I just read all of the negative reviews that I could about this place.... Honestly? I haven't seen ANY problems yet. Ashley AND Todd have BOTH been VERY friendly, polite and attentive, keeping my drinks full. This place could use a new charger base for their phone charger... But, meh... OTHER bars don't even HAVE a place that you can just plug your phone in, and charge your phone up. Not that I have noticed anyway. Great job so far! "Dade" just kicked a guy out... My experience at this bar yesterday was the worst. Was looking forward to watching the Superbowl with my wife and having a drink. So I ordered a drink sat down was looking for some food online to be delivered when a friendly guest told us there's a place next door as well that serves food so we went next door to eat. Finished my drink we went next door came back to the bar to watch the game when the rudest bartender ever had the audacity to tell me in my face. Are u gonna tip this time in front of everyone. Mind u. I've been in the bar and restaurant buis. For 30 years. And never had a comment made like he did. As a server or bartender u night ur tongue and hope the next would be better. Jackalope is a'ight for a dive bar. I'm from Seattle, one of the hipster-iest places on earth, so I've been in my fair share of dive bars. This one is ok, lots of guys wearing plaid (ya know straight guys that either pretend not to or legitimately don't realize they're all dressed exactly alike), yeah lots and lots of flannel, it was laughable. The girls here though aren't particularly hipster, just that "I hear punk is cool so I'm going to try to like, dress like that?" types. Once owned and created by Tattoo artists from Lost Art Tattoo (also, a top recommend in Salt Lake), this bar is covered in sick art work, skateboards, and Jackalopes. Pinball, foosball, pool and cheap drinks are only a few of the draws to this friendly lil' spot we like to call home. In fact, I probably spend more time there than home, as do about 40 0r 50 of my closest friends. Everyday: $3 Jager and $2 Jim Beam, as well as a $2 beer special!!! DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS PEOPLE???= a shot and a beer for $5!! That is seriously amazing!!!! Stopped by here on a whim late one Saturday night. I'd been past plenty of times during the afternoon due to it's proximity to the City Library. From the outside on a late Saturday afternoon it seems like a rough place to go. It's right next to the "Heavy Metal Shop" and a Tattoo parlor so go figure. It looks like a dark "dive bar" atmosphere, nearly everybody going in and out seemed to have extensive tattoos, heavy metal hoodies, or mowhawks. Music-wise these are my people and are all basically the group of friends I've hung out with since I was out of High School. But at the bar when alcohol is involved I'd rather not be involved in a bar fight with people who wear plenty of studded clothes that can be used as weapons, I'm looking to relax and enjoy a drink. Ironically (and having grown up with guys like these I should have known) this place is a great pub to hang out and have a beer with open minded people. Being that it get's a bit less traffic some of the larger more popular bars it's not packed, you don't have to wait to get a drink, and as a result everybody is alot less likely to go aggro for no reason. The inside is not too large, there are a few booths and a few tables. There is plenty of bar space and the bartenders keep up on the customer really well. There is a huge selection of bottled beer and decent beers on tap. Saturday had a DJ there playing music which seemed odd in a bar this size but was nice for some variety. The crowd is mainly twenty-somethings and not the jock-tocracy like you see at Sandbar, but older people like myself won't feel too out of place. Especially since we were rocking it old school while these kids were in elementary school listening to Hanson. I had it pegged as one of the more dangerous bars (relatively speaking) but this is actually a good relaxed place place for the crew that doesn't spend hours writing poetry in a coffee shop. read more

Met up here with a number of people I had never met before in my life. This was a meetup spot for my girlfriends 25th high school reunion the next day. Narrow place, still not cramped inside. All of the staff were friendly and with their regulars they seemed quite happy to see them. I placed a drink order for a few of us and asked for a soda for myself. I was told as I was the driver, mine was on the house. We grabbed a center table and whilst carrying on throughout the night the DJ kept the music going and the folks that worked there kept clearing away the empties. Went bar hopping downtown with a couple buddies and we split off in this area so 3 went to pie hole for food and me and another came here for a last drink of the night (about 12 am maybe 12:15 Max). We had been drinking prior of course but we weren't smashed, we walk in and the bouncer checks our ID's and says "the bartenders won't serve you you're too drunk and have slurred speech". Which would be fair if we were smashed or rowdy or loud. But it was 2 of us. We went up and sat at the bar and told the bartender about it and he told us we were fine and seemed just as drunk as anyone else there. Service from the bartenders was A+. Drink prices were mediocre. Drinks were fairly strong and tasted good. The minimum of $10 seems kind of cheap, I work for a small business and we accept all credit cards and don't have a minimum and I guarantee this bar makes more money than us. I love the place for a drink. That being said the weird kitchen people that seem to work when they feel like it (I.e. Opening time is 5 pm and yet couldn't get chips and salsa until after 7. ) Either don't offer food or offer real hours. That is insane which even the bartenders seem to agree with. To the "bouncer" with the duck tape name tag with the name Grant on it, I want to know who trained you or gave you your job because as a customer your professionalism and the way you treat paying customers is genuinely horrible and less then the bare minimum. This bouncer told the 22 year old female who was part of our party to "go fuck herself" when she was trying to help dissolve a negative situation. While have already said that he proceeded to talk to all of us in a very disgusting and hostile manner when the whole time we were just trying to be respectable customers and pay our tabs that were still open. We just went outside to check in with two friends that were outside the Jackalope when Grant then proceeded to not let us back in to finish the other half of our drinks and pay our tab. I have had some spectacular times at Jackalope. The crowd seems to change all the time. Some days, you'll get snow bros. Other days, you'll have hipsters. And they're never short on tattooed folk. It gets a little packed on the weekends but the regulars seem to show up on the week days. A tiny dive bar nestled within a few fun spots: a tattoo shop, sushi, and hello Pie Hole! You can't beat their drink "specials," which are not special, they're just for real. When I was there before Beer Fest, they had $2 Jim Beam, $3 Jager, $1 High Life beer and $3 Shock Top beer. Ladies ladies ladies. If someone takes you to this bar on a date, run. Don't get me wrong, the bar is ok but not a for a date. The bar is more of a tattoo and hipster bar. The hard liquor drinks are cheap and the beer is flowing. I think this is one of the few bars in SLC with a great deal of character. This place is your average hipster bar. It's a young crowd but everyone is pretty nice & we were able to walk in on a busy night & get a table fast. They do require a $10 minimum if you are going to use a credit/debit card which us understandable considering that they mostly sell Miller High Life for two bucks.
