More shotttssss and the waitress lol

Stopped into Sky SLC on a business trip with a friend who swears by this place--and I can see why. Two levels, high energy, a solid mix of music and beautiful people vibing out under club lights. We pulled up just the two of us but somehow ended up with a whole crew by the end of the night. The vibes were contagious. We got ourselves a booth and a bottle of Don Julio 1942 (can't remember if we did 12 or 24 shots--but it was enough to forget). The service was solid, and once they see you're spending a bit, they make sure you're taken care of. Now, let's talk about the booth. The couches? Absolutely beat to hell. Like someone's been running marathons on the seat cushions. Torn up, worn down, and definitely not something I felt comfortable sitting on. I didn't want to risk getting my outfit dirty, and I get the feeling I wasn't the only one--most people seemed to perch on top instead of sitting. I was too tipsy to grab a picture of the carnage, but I'm sure someone on here has receipts. As for the crowd, I was probably one of the only Black people in there--but hey, it's Salt Lake City. You get what you get. Everyone was cool though, and the atmosphere made up for it. Still, the crowd was great--fun people, beautiful women, and a party atmosphere that keeps the energy high. Walked out after spending just over $2,100. Worth it? Yeah. Life's short. Blow the bag and make a memory. Would I go back? For sure. Just maybe bring a seat cover next time.

I haven't been to a club over 8 years so I do apologize in advance of my old head is not used to the newer scene. Only reason I showed up was to see Trey Songz perform his hits from the early 2000s. The worst part is that he didn't start until 1240am and ended at 110am. He even asked us to sing his songs by putting the mic out to the crowd and I'm like, no, we paid to see you sing and perform! Ne-Yo was also there but he was in the VIP grinding with some girls. It was a hot mess. I didn't have any problems getting in the door since my friends and I ordered table service. It was located upstairs where it was pretty hot and extremely cramped. My party and I paid $900 for bottle service and honestly it's definitely not worth it. First and foremost, the couch we paid for only seats 5 people and it's extremely worn in. People at the other tables are standing on the couches, being sloppy and pouring alcohol everywhere, I can see why it looks the way it does. They say there's a dress code here, but I seriously saw half of them wearing hoodies, sneakers, and t shirts inside. Guess people don't really dress up to go out anymore.

Holding up the line to force people into buying tickets

Terrible experience at Sky SLC. I showed up around 10:10 and they intentionally held up the line while letting certain groups cut ahead. They'd let a few people in, then stop everyone else for no reason. When I tried to ask about it, the staff member gave me a nasty look and just said, "It's $20." Really unprofessional. I wasted money on an Uber only to turn around and leave. This place clearly has no respect for its customers--beware of their shady tactics.

    Crusty couch

The service was awful, we as a a customer have been neglected. Ambiance is weak. Place is empty and they charged a cover. We waited in line for the rooftop, with some crusty couches to make the line.

Unless you want heat stroke I would recommend not going here. There is zero air conditioning and seems like the owners don't even care.

I see that they have a dress code. It does not mention if this is for both men and Women. Can women wear tank tops? or is this dress ruling for men only?

Our dress code only applies on certain nights. Yes, tank tops are fine for ladies.

I want to come work here! The food was really good, and really expensive! Our bill was $145 for the two of us. Our server Jaxson was really knowledgeable on the menu, and really friendly. I don't think there's a bad seat in the house as all the burlesque dancers move around the space. Be prepared with some ones to tip them, but they also take Venmo. I'd love to come back!

"Don't worry honey, it's okay to look, and also throw money at the half-naked women! I promise you won't get in trouble!" Uh-huh. ;) Alright, I digress. Awkwardness aside, Prohibition is a really great place to enjoy a classy dinner, where the meat is served on a place AND on stage, and the cheesecake comes with the price of admission! Speaking of admission, as my wife and I were guests, being shepherded along by our friend, I cannot recall exactly what the "cover charge" was (not much, if I remember correctly...less than $20 for two?), and if reservations are *required*, I cannot say for certain, but I would say they are *recommended* at the very least, because our showtime was packed. Anyway, once paid, you are escorted through a secret bookcase door (SLC residents sure do love their speakeasies, don't they?), and into the dining hall and saloon, where you're soon to have your socks knocked off...well, someone's clothes are coming off, anyway! We were given a table that I dismissively thought was tucked away pretty far in the back and out of the way, but it ended up being one of the best seats in the house, as the table where the performers gathered, prepped, and returned to was just adjacent to us, so we were about as up close and personal as you can get, without getting yourselves arrested. Each of the dancers brought their own style, flair, and wardrobe to their performances, which were spirited and energetic, and a touch racy, without devolving into outright debauchery. It may be an (18+? 21+?) venue, but alcohol restrictions aside, I wouldn't hesitate to take older, more mature teens to a show with similar content. We ordered a smattering of smaller dishes, as we weren't particularly hungry, but the Mishima Wagyu tacos were fantastic (as you would expect), as was the Fedora Fin (Za'atar-crusted ahi tuna), and all of our cocktails. As the show is timed event with multiple performances per night, both food and bev are fired out of the kitchen/bar faster than the bullets from a Tommy Gun, but with far better accuracy. The whole operation here was honestly very impressive, from start to finish. Coming from a progressive city like Portland, it's always struck me a little odd that places that, by reputation, strike you as more conservative end up having some of the best, most wild entertainment venues, that you only wish you had back home. Prohibition is one of these places that I would rather see in my downtown, instead of the litany of seedy strip joints pushing for maximum titilation, but with only a fraction of the class and sophistication. Prohibition is good, clean fun, masquerading as something illicit, which is the heart of what makes it work so well.

We started with the hanabi. Crispy rice topped with spicy tuna and avocado, finished with sliced jalapeño, micro greens, and agave soy reduction. Next we tried the aker crunch roll. Not the greatest roll we've ever had, but definitely better quality than sushi at most places in Utah. I'd get it again. We then tried the toro and sablefish nigiri. The toro was great. My wife didn't want to try it and at the end of the meal said it was her favorite thing. The sablefish is good, but if you've had the sablefish at Takashi you'll be a little disappointed with this one. I would skip that next time and just get the toro. Star of the show for me was the wagyu ribeye. The steak was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. The bone marrow butter jus and chimichurri were both great and I found myself switching between the two. I also enjoyed the carrots and polenta that came with the steak. For dessert we had the butter cake. It was good. Not as good as the one at sol agave, and I think the one we had at Felt next door was even better, but we still really enjoyed it. Service was really good and we can't wait to go back.
