I went with a friend during a perreo night, so I can only speak to the atmosphere then--which was amazing!! The energy was so high; the people, the dancing, the dj, etc. In my experience, all of the staff were very respectful and helpful too. The only thing that I would complain about, if I were to, would be the diversity of drinks, but that's only because I have gone once. I did have a couple of different ones, but I would've loved to see more variety. Again; maybe there is! And I just didn't explore their options as much. My husband and I went here to see a DJ and had a blast. There was a line when we arrived, but it moved fairly quickly. The check your bags and pay you down before going in which I appreciate. You walk in and are greeted by the bar then it opens up into the dance floor. Drinks were good and a lot of people were dancing. As the night went on, it did fill up and get really cramped. They have VIP areas where the bottle girls do the little signs and lights if you're looking to celebrate something. Fun vibes and I plan on coming back if there is another event I want to go too. I'm overall really appreciative of the staff, especially the AM Nick who was really kind in my time of need, so five stars for Nick. But I'm sad to say that tonight will be my last night going to Sky. I was assaulted by a girl who was pushing to the front and I put my elbows up to prevent it and then got shoved and punched in the face. Never thought I would be the victim of assault but alas, here we are. What made the situation worse was Tony, the security guard chose to believe the 22 year old girls who assaulted me instead of me and my shiner, then gaslit me and told me that I must've been the one being the asshole. Sorry to no longer go to a place that usually brings in good djs but I cannot abide the crowd. Super over it. Will not be returning ever, no matter the headliner. One too many negative experiences. Open-air rooftop, good music, perfect weather and fun ambiance makes Sky SLC such a vibe and place to be at. I never had bad experiences there. The security check-in and line to get in is pretty fast. The securities are super cool and friendly. Always smiling. There's one bar upstairs, so the wait for drinks can take awhile on a busy day. The bartenders do their best to make your drinks fast and efficiently. For the restrooms, sometimes there's a wait and sometimes not. However, if you get a private section, you'll get drinks /shots delivered straight to your table by the hostess for convenience. I recall there are about 3-4 private sections along the side near the DJ booth and you can see part of downtown SLC. It's a nice view both during the day and night, especially when the sun is setting. I look forward to coming back when they re-open in Spring for upcoming shows / concerts :) read more

I came here on a Thursday evening to check out SLC's nightlife and the thought the idea of dancing on a rooftop sounded fun. Well, it WAS fun and there was no cover at like 10pm, but the place was pretty dead. I've heard Thursdays can be hit or miss. Either way, the DJ was pretty good and the views were fun! The bartenders were all kind and didn't mind that I was only drinking soda waters. Stopped into Sky SLC on a business trip with a friend who swears by this place--and I can see why. Two levels, high energy, a solid mix of music and beautiful people vibing out under club lights. We pulled up just the two of us but somehow ended up with a whole crew by the end of the night. The vibes were contagious. We got ourselves a booth and a bottle of Don Julio 1942 (can't remember if we did 12 or 24 shots--but it was enough to forget). The service was solid, and once they see you're spending a bit, they make sure you're taken care of. Now, let's talk about the booth. The couches? Absolutely beat to hell. Like someone's been running marathons on the seat cushions. Torn up, worn down, and definitely not something I felt comfortable sitting on. I didn't want to risk getting my outfit dirty, and I get the feeling I wasn't the only one--most people seemed to perch on top instead of sitting. I was too tipsy to grab a picture of the carnage, but I'm sure someone on here has receipts. As for the crowd, I was probably one of the only Black people in there--but hey, it's Salt Lake City. You get what you get. Everyone was cool though, and the atmosphere made up for it. Still, the crowd was great--fun people, beautiful women, and a party atmosphere that keeps the energy high. I haven't been to a club over 8 years so I do apologize in advance of my old head is not used to the newer scene. Only reason I showed up was to see Trey Songz perform his hits from the early 2000s. The worst part is that he didn't start until 1240am and ended at 110am. He even asked us to sing his songs by putting the mic out to the crowd and I'm like, no, we paid to see you sing and perform! Ne-Yo was also there but he was in the VIP grinding with some girls. It was a hot mess. I didn't have any problems getting in the door since my friends and I ordered table service. It was located upstairs where it was pretty hot and extremely cramped. My party and I paid $900 for bottle service and honestly it's definitely not worth it. First and foremost, the couch we paid for only seats 5 people and it's extremely worn in. People at the other tables are standing on the couches, being sloppy and pouring alcohol everywhere, I can see why it looks the way it does. They say there's a dress code here, but I seriously saw half of them wearing hoodies, sneakers, and t shirts inside. Guess people don't really dress up to go out anymore. read more

Terrible experience at Sky SLC. I showed up around 10:10 and they intentionally held up the line while letting certain groups cut ahead. They'd let a few people in, then stop everyone else for no reason. When I tried to ask about it, the staff member gave me a nasty look and just said, "It's $20." Really unprofessional. There aren't many places to go out in slc. Sky is probably one of the largest clubs that hosts performers . We came here to see too short. You definitely need to have table service here because if you don't you will be stuck in a massive crowd and it is overcrowded and really uncomfortable. We were at the table upstairs which I recommend because there is so much more breathing room . Too short didnt come on until 1230-12:40 am, and the club closes at 1 am, so he barely performed for an hour. There was a mosh pit / fighting going on in the crowd. I wouldnt recommend going here unless you have a table, it was too crowded and not safe for a group of females to be in the crowd at all. read more

My girls and I were visiting SLC from NY! We were excited to go out for our first night in SLC! Unfortunately that changed quickly. People were rude, including the staff. My friends and I were ordering shots and drinks all night. We always tip 20% and the bartender told us we weren't tipping him enough. The songs changed every 30 seconds and it was clear: These aren't DJs. These are people who saw DJs on Tik Tok and thought, "That looks fun." As soon as they play Ja Rule, I knew it was time to go. No one could dance. It was a disgrace to music and humanity. To the club owners: You're either on vacation or high on so much cocaine that you don't care anymore. They clearly oversold their tickets for a NYE event. 40 minute wait in 25 degree freezing cold weather, followed by serious overcrowding issues. Balcony goers would spill their drinks onto the crowd below, which was not monitored or prevented by staff in any way. A very intoxicated individual danced on a railing for 10 minutes before falling off onto an unsuspecting crowd member next to them. No injuries, but it's clear this establishment is 100% relying on luck rather than skill. I don't even know what to say when this place makes Saltaire look good by comparison. read more

Service is not great. We left our car keys in the venue on Saturday and can not get ahold of anyone. The phone number does not work. We have sent an email a day on the "lost and found" section 4 days later no response.... google says they are open so we drove 30 miles and guess what not open... worst customer service ever. read more

I've been coming here pretty frequently lately, and it's my favorite place for a night out! There's no other nightclub in Salt Lake City that has this good of service - from the bar backs, bartenders, bouncers and to the bottle girls, they know what they're doing and they do it well. If EDM is your favorite genre for music, there is no other club that brings in the big name DJ's like Slushii, Deorro, 3LAU, Cosmic Gate, Laidback Luke, etc. except for Sky! They also regularly feature local DJ's and I found a new favorite, Z&Z, when they opened for Dion Timmer this past Wednesday at an 18+ show. Therapy Thursdays are typically their busiest night of the week and it's 21+ on most days. If EDM is not your cup of tea, they have open format nights on Friday's, and a really awesome Latin night that's usually on Saturday's. read more

I was assaulted at this club December of 2022. I was a club/festival photographer hired by V2 Presents but I was not shooting that night. My phone fell from the second floor and I was frantically looking for it near the back VIP area. The security immediately got in my face and was aggressively telling me to get the f out of there. I tried to tell them that I worked for V2 but apparently I was name dropping? I have literal pay stubs from them UNDERPAYING ME to do their social media and content since their marketing director is uninspired but that's another issue. So there I was, frustrated and upset that their security couldn't just shine a light or help me find my phone. He was actually smirking, getting off on not helping me. I went upstairs (PS upstairs was closed off and private that night) to cool off, came back down to try again and saw AUSTIN RONDO, a fellow club photographer who'd taken my photos 2 weeks prior and went out of his way to send them to me, and thought I was safe and that he'd help me. I was wrong - he acted like he didn't know me, and ganged up on me with the ahole security guard. I called them misogynistic pigs among other things because I was so upset and frustrated - I couldn't understand why they couldn't just help me??? So because they didn't like me calling them out they had me forcibly removed from the club - I have been assaulted before by my ex and come from an abusive household so when people put their hands on me for no reason I see red. Not to mention the fact that I'd been a patron at this club for the last 7 years since I moved to Utah or the fact that I'd been shooting at the club for a year. I've never had any issues in this community, nor have I ever assaulted anyone. The manager of SKY SLC, Matthew, is trying to say I assaulted him. They fed me to police who assaulted me as well. I was thrown in jail for the first time in my life and released early due to the concussion, fractured finger and multiple injuries I sustained. I now am facing 2 misdemeanors and hospital bills and they are ONCE AGAIN GETTING AWAY WITH ASSAULT. Why? Because they have a national team of lawyers protecting them. It's almost like they prey on people who can't defend themselves... SKY SLC Security is KNOWN for assaulting their patrons, as shown in these 1 and 2 star reviews. I don't know how people are still going here? Google "SKY SLC ASSAULT" and you'll find an article written by EDM.COM about their assault on another minority. OG REVIEW: 8/23/2019 UPDATED: 5/23/2021 Sky had closed down because of covid but it has re-opened and let me tell you they made some new improvements!! They have a rooftop where you see a beautiful scenery of downtown Salt Lake City! They also have Nate Lowpass playing (almost every Friday) and you can get in for free on guest list up until 10pm! I have gone a few times and I love it. The only issue with the roof top is the bar line is VERY long, crowded, compact. The line for the men's bathroom I have seen wraps around the corner and it gets dark outside. I wish they had some kind of party lights outside or lasers because the only lighting outside is from the bar. The first rooftop session I went the dj was performing inside of sky and they just had speakers outside. This second time I went again they had a little dj booth outside which was very nice cause it builds that connection with the DJ. Overall would recommend but wish they would alter DJs for Friday nights! read more

DO NOT GO HERE! YOU ARE NOT SAFE! The security is extremely violent just for fun. Our 3 person female group got asked to go on stage for their Halloween costume contest (we were sought-after on the dance floor by their staff) we would have been just fine being left alone on the dancefloor. We followed the staff to the stage and were there for less than 15 seconds while the dj introduced us, when one security out of nowhere got physical. I was in shock because one minute we were happy and the next we were attacked. Im not sure if this security guy wanted us to leave why he didn't just get out attention seeing as our backs were to him and he was behind us. We would have happily left. But he was so rough with my poor friend (she now has bruises) and almost seriously injured her by pushing her and making her trip on a speaker. None of us were belligerent, drunk, or arguing with him. His behavior was uncalled for. He was in such a steroid rage and completely unhinged. Tried to tell a higher staff what happened and they said they didn't care. So really the whole staff and place is trash. That is whole lawsuit waiting to happen. Can't wait til this place gets new owners and staff or are shut down. By the looks of the other reviewers this is not an isolated incident. This place will 100% ruin your good vibe and night out. Don't come here unless they get new security. My boyfriend and I came from out of town for a Therapy Thursday show, had barely gotten in the door before a security officer accused him of "grabbing him by the neck". This was not true, he was accusing the wrong person. The security officer grabbed my boyfriend and threw him into the stairs, and then proceeded to push and shove us out of the club without listening to reason. The other members of security weren't any better; they refused to share the name of the first officer, were using sarcasm in a serious situation, and couldn't have cared less about listening to paying customers.
