First time at Jackalope ranch. Very interesting on the inside and gorgeous patio on the outside. A must see for both. We found their happy hour menu delightful. Started with the soup of the day. It was a sausage chicken gumbo; delicious. Tina did a great job of serving our lunch. With a pitcher of their namesake brew and sliders,it was a food fest deluxe. We have decided this is one of the must sees for our guests. Looking forward to next visit. read more

We had brunch at Jackelope Ranch today for the first time today. From the moment we walked in the service was fabulous. We asked for a table instead of a booth and the hostess Dawn was in tune to my knee problems and made sure we didn't have to walk too far to the buffet. Our server Sonya was gracious and attentive to our every need. Daniel one of the runners had extra bacon for us before we could ask. Food was good. Omelet station with eggs made to order. Good mix of ingredients as well. Salad and cold table could have had a little better cold seafood selection but in reality this is a bbq restaurant. Carving station was fabulous. Hot entrees were amazing ribs, pork belly, chicken just to name a few. Will definitely return again. read more

Jackalope was a FANTASTIC place to have brunch. It was a PRIME RIB Champagne Brunch. We made reservations for 5 and sat without a wait. We all ate to our tummy's content. Veggies were fresh. Shrimp were fresh and large! The Prime Rib was perfect. The selection was great. Don't like Prime Rib, there's brisket, salmon, leg of lamb, and rotisserie chicken. Omelette bar and all the breakfast fixings. Not an overly large selection of desserts but what was there was amazing. Grandma had 3 rice crispy treats. This place has amazing BBQ and the service was great. Veronica did an amazing job as our server. Despite being the only table seated outside the service was great. I had to decide between the baby back ribs and the beef ribs which I have to say the baby backs were a wise choice. We have made this a destination for Sunday happy hour for many years but tonight we were sincerely disappointed. Service was extremely slow even though the restaurant was not busy, we arrived at 4 pm seated outside. It took 35-40 mins for anyone to take a drink order then the drinks came within a few mins followed very quickly by our appy's. The food was too little and blah, unsubstantial. Also rather expensive for happy hour. I doubt we will make the effort to repeat this experience. read more

My first time visiting but one of the worst experiences I have had in a restaurant, the waiter was horrible. I understand it was Christmas Eve, but if he didn't want to there then you shouldn't have shown up for work. My guest and I Ordered two beers, two salads. The two beers arrive, the salads arrive, problem only one flatware set was given, had to wave another person down to ask for additional flatware. Ordered our entrees, once entree's arrived, only one empty salad plate was removed, the empty salad plate remained through the entire meal. Did the waiter come back to offer us an additional beer, NOPE. Entree's are complete, waiter shows up would you like dessert, my guest order only, I on the other ordered, dessert and coffee. Coffee arrives alone with the final bill. 10 minutes later the bad, really bad waiter stops by the table to ask he we are ready to our bill, I said, I haven't even received my dessert that I ordered almost 15 minutes ago. Oh let me go check on that, the waiter says. In the meantime, as one of the hosts walks by, I ask for the Manager, guess who brings my dessert the Manager, I asked "are you the manger?" He said, so told him the entire night was a Hugh nightmare for both my guest and myself, the manager stated he would comp my dessert, I explained, I didn't want anything for free, then asked where did we fail as customers to be treated in this manner, or where the his restaurant fail on their service! I wanted nothing for free, but for him to fix the problem. He apologized and new bill arrived minus the cost of the dessert. Well it is the first time we have ever been here and the website said they were busy so we made a reservation. We arrived at the restaurant and were pleasantly surprised by the looks and atmosphere. However one should not judge a book by its cover. It was like opening up an iPhone box and discovering that it really is just an android. It took them over an hour after we ordered to even tell us that our food would be a while longer seeing that they were fairly incompetent. However this wasn't the weirdest part... I decided to take a field trip to the restroom seeing that I had to relieve myself. When I walked in the bathroom the first thing I saw was a box of latex gloves which one could only assume were for free prostate exams and not only this but there seemed to be semen on the walls and ceiling and god knows how it got there. So In conclusion I am going to say that the F in Jackelope Ranch stands for 5 star restaurant. read more

I had previously given Jackalope Ranch a bad review based on service and food quality. That was over two years ago. In Dec 2016 we decided to give it another chance, and there was BIG turnaround. The ribs were great as were the deserts, and our server, Will, was terrific. We needed to stop over between Phoenix and LA and boy were we happy at Jackalope Ranch. My in laws were visiting last month and wanted to try Jackalope. It was a lovely evening-full moon-so we sat outside. I have to say, everything was really perfect. Normally my husband and I prefer a "higher end" dining experience but we were very happy with the food as were the other 4 family members. Portions are huge-honestly you can share a meal between 2 people. The wine and cocktails were good as well. Most impressive was the service....it was a busy evening at the restaurant but our meals came out quickly and we were never without drinks. There was an extremely nice young man named Andrew asking us if we enjoyed our meal. Our server, Gabby, was a great help too. We dine out often and I am sad to say, the service industry is lacking overall in friendliness and being attentive. Kudos to Jackalope for maintaining quality service standards. By the way, the grounds with gorgeous water features are an added treat! We'll be back! read more

The worst service I have had in a long time. It was 25 or 30 minutes after being seated before the waitress came to our table. Then another 15 or 20 minutes until we were served. Then we had to flag her down if we wanted anything else. She just disappeared for long periods of time. The food was mediocre. We were seated in the dining room. Upon seeing the flies, we didn't even sit down outside. Upon moving inside the flies weren't swarming but still an issue landing on food and drink. First and last time at this restaurant I have lived in the CV for 32 years. The ribs were ok and tender. It is summer and the place is slow with customers. I ear in fine restaurants often and we order an appitizer, salad and entree which we split. This place charges a split charge and does not even split the entree-just plopped down on the table. Happy hour is a keeper, now from 3:30 to 6 p.m. and the food is outstanding with generous portions and great flavors. Service can be slow; 45 minutes for ceviche after asking servers to check on it twice (the first server we asked never came back with an answer).. After multiple experiences here I can state that while the atmosphere may be mid-to-high grade, the service and food quality are marginally below that of Cheesecake Factory, or any other run of the mill mid-priced food chain. The food is overpriced for what it is. The first visit I had samplings of several of the meals ordered. Everything was average. Overall flavor was ok but I've had much better for the price elsewhere. I'd place the steaks on par with my own cooking at home. Service was also average, nothing memorable. The second visit was with a different crew and we all ordered sandwiches or salads. We were all disappointed with both the service and the food. The meats were dry and overcooked, as were the fries. The salad was later represented as a "regrettable" order. Our waitress was gone for most our meal but clearly serving others in our area. We only saw her once after being seated, after our food was delivered, but by then the bus boys had already taken care of our long-standing needs (drinks perhaps?). She did, of course, return later to collect our payment. The fact that we left even a small tip for her at all was remarkable. Kudos for the great atmosphere but if you come for food or service, I'd imagine you'd have better luck dining at a chain restaurant than here. read more

This is a beautiful restaurant well lit and designed. The food for me was just okay not bad but nothing to scream and yell about. Now the one thing that really bothered me was the service upon arrival the hostess was on the phone and didn't even acknowledge us, a second hostess finally came over and took care of us. I AM DONE.....terrible service starting with the hostess. Next seated at outside bar and realize why service was so poor, only one bartender serving two bars on a busy Sunday afternoon. I went primarily for the Country Dancing on Tuesday nights. So while there I figured I would enjoy a meal. I ordered the Prime Rib French Dip with the Homemade Chips. The sandwich arrived an had a generous portion of beef, though there was a bit too much fat for my taste. Many of the chips were tasty and crispy but the on the bottom were soggy from the au jus that had leaked from the sandwich. As for the dancing, if you don't mind the bad sound system, dodging wait staff and food runners and sticking to the bar floor then by all means go. The crowd was pleasant and friendly but most of them had no idea what dance floor etiquette means. I may go back to give the food another shot and maybe the dancing but it may be awhile. read more

I celebrated my 26th birthday here in September 2013. The service was not all that great. Their menu was very strict and limited. Over priced. The service took very long to attend us. Food taste was average. They charged a $2.50 fee a person to bring in a cake even when half of my guest did not have dessert. The waiters used profanity towards one another in Spanish.I wish I would of picked a different place to celebrate my birthday. Although the place is big and has nice scenery its not worth the experience. On the positive they offer free valet. read more
