HORRIBLE, UNACCOMMODATING, RUDE! when you see a family with a toddler and an infant and you say you need to put the stroller outside, where do you expect to keep the quiet infant... outside?! NO! Stick us in a corner (which there was plenty of seating for us) and just move one of the chairs and the small double umbrella stroller will fit just fine in its place. That way you don't have to expect the parents to hold the infant during their meal. NOPE they wouldn't accommodate us, a simple family just looking to eat dinner. We didn't have children to 1. Stick them outside or 2. Leave them at home. Our children are very well behaved and if they are not we take our food to go and get outa there! Never again. Please look at other reviews, as well as mine and DON'T waste your money. I am keeping this short, then letting this disappointment go ... I ordered baked haddock. It came with a side of veggies and mashed potato. I took a bite of the mashed with a piece of zucchini, which was good, but then caught a whiff of something that was "off". Unfortunately, I took a bite of the fish and realized the fish tasted like low tide and the smell was absolutely putrid. I am a fisherman and I know when fish is bad! It has a strong ammonia odor. Anyway, I immediately called the waiter over and apologized that I was sending it back, but that it wasn't a good piece of fish and asked for a new piece. He took it away and was back in under 3mins with the SAME piece. He told me the chef said it was fresh, just caught today ... oh no no NO it wasn't!! He actually placed the same stinky fish back in front of me and said that he was sorry, but the chef said it was fresh. You know the cartoon when someone gets angry and smoke comes out of their ears??? That was me .... I told him to take it away and I asked for the check. When he came back I asked him who told him to come and put that back in front of me?? He apologized and told me that it was the chef. Management needs to retrain their staff about dining etiquette ... and tell the chef to swallow his/her pride, get rid of the ego and just plate a different piece of fish to SAVE the restaurant from another horrible review! I did not penalize the waiter ... left him a 17% tip. Was not his fault, but wish he knew better than to reintroduce the same plate or try to force it back on me. Went for lunch with my Aunt. When we arrived at the line, the woman seating people was just not very nice. Asked if we could have a water view seat and she nastily remarks that "All seats have a water view". She was right. But there are tables with great views and there are tables where you are looking over the heads of the great view's patrons. That's where we were seated. We couldn't figure out if our waiter just couldn't understand us or if he was just plain rude. He didn't know the specials. Didn't offer to tell us them. Was angry when we asked if the chicken sandwich was grilled or fried. Told us it was grilled, so y Aunt ordered it. Ten minutes later, he comes back to say it was fried. So that was nixed. My Aunt ordered a cup of clam chowder w/ a BLT sandwich, I ordered the Lobster Grilled Cheese. He asked if I wanted anything like fries, etc. I said No. Order was placed. I changed my mind on getting a cup of clam chowder and when he was walking by, asked if I could add it to my order. He said " Of Course". Two minutes later he walks out with my clam chowder, but not my Aunts. We wait 10 minutes (I did not want to eat in front of her). Then we pulled a waitress over and asked if this was normal. She said she would get the chowder. She went to speak to our waiter and within a few minutes he appeared with her clam chowder. Chowder was good, but quite salty. Our sandwiches came out and both were ok. He did throw us some chips. My Lobster Grilled Cheese had lobster claws with shells still on them. It was a real disappointment. We love coming here. Great views and relaxing environment. The fish and chips were great. Fired clams were also perfect. Portions are good enough for sharing. The kids also had plenty of choices. Terrible food! All this place has going for it is the views of the coast. I ordered way overpriced steak tips and they took forever, were flavorless and over cooked. When asked about my meal I kindly told the waiter he stared at me blankly and then asked if I wanted another soda water. We asked to talk to manager because I didn't eat them to see if she could remove them from bill. We were told she was not there and there was nothing they could do. We will never go to this restaurant again and strongly recommend that no one goes there. I bit down on numerous pieces of shell in a fried clam. The owner did not come out to see us and sent the waitress back to say that she could only refund $3 on a $25 plate. She said that "it happens" when you order clams and that because I had eaten the clams (it happened in the next to the last one I ate) that she could not refund the cost of the meal. Where should I eat after a long drive from Fall River, MA for a day trip to Ogunquit? If I had my druthers, it would be Jackie's Too every time. EVERY time? What can I say, I have a hyperbolic personality. In all seriousness, this restaurant has an amazing view. There are few consistently good places on this little blue orb where one can enjoy delicious seafood outdoors with the Atlantic breeze blowing in the smell of the sea to compliment your meal. The view from the outdoor patio is one of scraggy rocks and boulders abutting the ocean. After your meal, be sure to climb out on them instead of trekking along boring ol' Marginal Way. The photo opportunities are spectacular. The crashing waves, smells of the sea and general ambiance afford Jackie's Too three stars from the get-go. But it gets better. The staff is friendly and service is great. You aren't given menus featuring the latest tofu wonder fad. For you see Dear Reader, I'm American. I don't need to eat healthy foods. I ordered the Native Steamers with extra butter. After I swilled them down with a few ice cold beers, I ordered a blackened salmon roll - with copious amounts of mayo, thank you very much. Giada De Laurentiis doesn't eat this well. If that's not telling enough, consider this. They offer Seafood Fra Diavolo, a combination of mussels, lobster, scallops and shrimp in a zesty marinara sauce. So, don't be a Doubting Thomas. Have been coming here for over 10 Years as a frequent summer vacationer. While the Ocean View is certainly a draw and can elevate even a mediocre meal. But the food has always lived up to to the magnificence and serenity of the view. And as a discerning New Yorker and having worked in restaurants I'm aware if restaurant has an "off day". But today's experience was truly traumatic. The food was still great but the experience was as if I had food poisoning. It was like the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld and Jack Nicholson's classic Diner scene in "Five Easy Pieces". First my friend and I ordered the twin lobsters and requested male lobsters as we don't care for the red roe that's in some female lobsters . This is the only restaurant I've ever been to that wouldn't honor this request. As it turns out in Maine they only serve males as it's illegal for the lobstermen to keep the females for lack of procreation. So the server was giving us some BS that they can't honor that request. So only I order the Lobsters which turn out to be male with the Green Tamali. It was delicious. And my friend orders the Flounder with Lobster & Shrimp Stuffing on top. Now here's where everything goes South. My friend explains to the server he's not happy with what he ordered as the fish is dry and the stuffing on top of the fish is burnt. She's very hesitant to accommodate him with taking it back and offering something else. After taking the dish back to tell the chef ,she returns with it saying the chef said the dish is fine and the fish is fresh. We NEVER said that the fish wasn't fresh. Here's where the insanity comes in- My friend said he'd like the cold lobster salad instead. We were then told the policy of the restaurant is that once a dish is returned there are no substitutions. I can understand them not offering to remake the dish he didn't like. And the server did remove it from the check . But he wasn't allowed to order something else. Other reviews of Jackie's Too show similar incidents of inflexibility. Like a woman being charged for the few sips of wine she drank before saying she didn't like it. Or someone being charged for a dish despite breaking a tooth on a broken clamshell. There is obviously a dictator in the kitchen having hard working servers recite ridiculous "policy". It's very sad to see a restaurant not understand the meaning of hospitality. By the way- My friend then had a delicious Turkey sandwich from The Village Market in Ogunquit. Wow, tough crowd up in here! I came up here with Dorian and Bryan on a little Maine adventure via the Pease Airport. The scenery was out of control beautiful, as the restaurant was right on the water. The waitress (yeah, there was only one) was an old cranky New England lady, who seemed annoyed that we didn't really like the price of $28 for a lobster. I like my old waitresses a little cranky. She was pleasant enough, and Bryan and I ended up getting lobster rolls, steak fries, and a side salad, and Dorian got the Eggplant sandwich with steak fries and a salad. The side salad was huge and really leafy, which is always a good thing. It had nice red onions, good chunks of cucumber, and a nice clump of sprouts on top. The blue cheese dressing was good and chunky. Our entrees came out quickly, and my only complaint is that the lobster in the lobster roll was a little bland.....it needed a little more flavor to it, be it from lemons or garlic or whatever, just a little more zip to it. The steak fries were perfect and exactly how steak fries should be. Salted to hell and slathered in ketchup and they equaled pure heaven. I can imagine the peak season gets crazy up here, but I hope to come back when it's warmer and the lobsters are in season. I think this is the summer of the lobster bib. read more

Ordered "Jackie Favorite" which was described by waiter as scallops, haddock and shrimp baked casserole style with lemon butter and covered with buttered bread crumbs. Came as barely cooked fish on plate without any color, lightly sprinkled on top with orange colored something. No taste. Certainly not what was described. When mentioned to waiter he insisted that the orange something was Ritz cracker crumbs. When I said they weren't, he offered to bring out the box from the kitchen. He then brought out a small cup of more orange stuff. I asked Where's the box. He returned with a package of Graham Cracker crumbs and said it's the same as Ritz crumbs. read more

Quite honestly the worst lunch I've had in quite a while. I generally do not write bad reviews for any place. It's just not in my character, however, I feel I must warn people of the horrible food we had today on a beautiful fall day. Our chowder had a couple of bits of potato only and it had the bland taste of a béchamel sauce. Our Caesar salad, which we shared, had Romain lettuce that obviously had been frozen in parts making it inedible and it was all loaded with a very heavy tasteless dressing. My coleslaw tasted like it came out of a plastic bag. While it has a beautiful view and a nice looking bar which by the way serves a great bloody Mary I will never go back. read more

For restaurant placement right on the edge of rocks and water, for service from Karen, for nice atmosphere and for the excellent mussels my friend and I would have given this place 5 stars! We split a blueberry lemon piece of cake for dessert and that was excellent too. What was not excellent was the twin lobster special I got- the lobsters tasted - musty or something, there was an after taste, they were almost off. I probably should have sent them back- my friend speculated they sat in old --meaning not fresh -- water. Usually I pick thru a lobster and eat everything I can in it- I did not want to do that this time. So- Very disappointed in the lobster- how do you ruin that? This was our first time visiting Jackie's Too but not our last. It was a very positive experience right from the start. The hostess was very friendly and accommodating. She sat us at a beautiful table near the windows which were still closed. We asked if they could be opened since it was such a gorgeous day, and she did it in a split second. The waitress was very pleasant and always had a smile. We ordered the Caesar salad to share which was fresh and big enough for two as a starter. We also shared the Jackie's Favorite which was broiled shrimp, sea scallops and haddock - 2 nice pieces of haddock, 4 shrimp and 4 scallops. Everything was very fresh and cooked to perfection. It was not sitting in a pile of butter either which was excellent. The vegetables were fresh broccoli, asparagus, green beans and peppers. Also prepared excellently. We chose the baked potato. We had an excellent experience and will definitely return for more fresh seafood. read more

The shrimp cocktail is actually delicious, though poorly served on a lukewarm plate with no seafood fork. Nonetheless, the shrimp are huge and succulent, and the cocktail sauce spiced just right ($12.95 for 4).....and the salads here are halfway decent. Great view... but average food Jackie's Too is located on Perkins Cove and provides an excellent view of the ocean. It is a good place to grab a sit down meal with a view. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is just okay and is not on par with other neighboring seafood restaurants. We ordered lobster rolls basically because we never get tired of eating them. Jackie's Too lobster rolls were served on a plain roll. The lobster meat tasted fresh but unfortunately was a bit skimpy compared with what you can get elsewhere for similar money. Overall, the seating and view do make Jackie's Too a nice place to dine. The food is just not that memorable compared with other local spots. read more

My husband and I came here a few weeks ago with a group of family. I thought the food was pretty decent, but not out-of-this-world. I had the lobster bisque and also sampled some of my husband's clam chowder; both were bland. My bisque had a few bits of shell in it, and I thought the chowder was made with way too much flour--it was bordering on pasty. I probably would not order soup here again. We both had the lobster rolls for our main. They were simple and adorned with little other than delicious lobster meat--just as a lobster roll should be. However, for point of reference, you can get a larger lobster roll for less money at Disneyland (a place not exactly known for trying to keep its prices down). Our server was friendly and attentive, and of course the view is unparalleled. All in all, if I were in the area again, I would not object to returning to Jackie's Too, but also might not voice it as a suggestion. read more

After walking the Marginal Way, we were starving but there was no way we were going to walk that much further for food, and definitely we weren't going to drive. We skipped Oarweed (looked pricey) so Jackie's it was! We absolutely knew we were in the middle of tourist trap country, so our expectations weren't very high. In a way then, Jackie's didn't disappoint. Service was slow and not friendly, we had flies (but to be fair, we were outside) and the food was serviceable and not memorable. I went with three friends on a Sunday night. There were a couple of pluses to the restaurant. We sat outside on a nice night, they make good Cadillac margaritas and crab cakes, and our server was friendly. Other than that, I wouldn't spend my money again. I got scallops with bacon and bleu cheese. It was what I expect in a lot of seafood places in summer towns-everything is cooked and fully-marinated in butter and oil and that's considered great preparation. The dish came with fresh veggies that were OK and mashed sweet potoato that were not what I expected and had been mixed with maple syrup. We weren't lingering, but realized we were the last one's seated as the place started to empty out and there was no one else seated behind us. The staff were cleaning up and while my friend still had a pretty full plate of pasta and was clearly still eating, a dish washer came out and asked if he was still eating and was ready to pull the plate out from under him. We paid the bill and we were barely out the door and they practically slammed the door behind us as they locked it. I found this all so rude. We spend $200 and gave the waitress a really good tip (about 25%). If they had told us they would be closing soon that would have been fine, but it was the type of vibe where they want you to go in, leave your money on the counter and leave. We waited ten minutes for a drink without a word saying I'll be right with you. I had to ask for a drink menu. She has had drink tickets all night. The view is beautiful from the dining room and is the best part of this restaurant. We had dinner there Sunday evening, right in the middle of a long holiday weekend. We first went to Barnacle Billy's but the wait was a little too long The server (a colorful character to say the least - clad in bright yellow shorts, a straw hat, and not particularly friendly) said we could get a table in 15 minutes...great so we'll wait in the bar. The barmaid (Shelby) clearly was busy..apparently the register couldn't print out receipts or handle credit cards...so she was running back and forth between the bar and the front computer. Meanwhile, the bar was busy and people were waiting for drinks..including all of the servers. We finally got our drinks ~ 10 minutes later. Things were getting starting to look up. After 25 minutes, we checked with our colorful seater and apparently he forgot about us....but did seat my GF and 'her date' quickly. The waitress came by several times to let us know she'd be right back. The place wasn't full but there did seem to be a shortage of servers..not a good way to start a long Holiday season in a tourist town. Meanwhile, there was some discussion between diners at the next table and our server - the fish was smaller than normal and someone forgot our patron was lactose intolerant. Eventually this seemed to get resolved. We finally ordered some steamers (they were out of mussels), which came in a timely manner. Unfortunately, about a third of the shells were broken and not edible due to the many small pieces. The others were tasty. I ordered trout and my date a baked medley consisting of scallops, haddock, and shrimp. She said her dinner was very tasty. My fish was suppose to be smothered in caramelized onions but also seemed to contain bitter pieces of over-cooked garlic. Both meals were accompanied by string beans that were quite good. My baked potato was cold but it wasn't worth trying to get another one. My recommendation...go there for a drink, to enjoy the view and maybe an appetizer..but look elsewhere for a nice dinner. read more

Just had lunch at Jackie's. The hostess was very friendly and worked hard to get us seated quickly. The waterfront view on Jackie's deck is amazing... it was actually the best part of Jackie's. We ordered Bloody Mary's with Jackie's signature bloody mix. The drinks were quite good... not the best I've ever had but tasty and refreshing. I ordered the tuna salad plate. It was just ok. The salad seemed as if it sat in the hot kitchen for a few too many minutes before being brought to the table. My boyfriend ordered the lobster roll and was excited to see the large chunks of claw meat with very little mayo. Overall, it was a decent lunch. Jackie only accepts Visa/ Mastercard or cash.
