Food Poisoning & Bad Service Restaurant was empty, hostess walked us in and sat us in the back. Every table was open. We politely requested if we could sit a few tables over by the water view which is why we came, she angrily barked "they're all taken, every table, and walked away." The restaurant is no reservations, so that's literally not possible. And beyond that the attitude was rough. We got seafood. Some of the worst food we've ever had. My mother in her late 60s got immediately sick. On the walk back to our hotel, she couldn't walk. Fell over vomiting all over the street and shaking. We were inches from calling 911, but I gave her a should and helped walk her back. A 15 minute walk back turned into an hour of extreme pain and worry. Bad service. Dangerous food. My family is old, absolutely terrible. I hope this place gets sued or shuts down. Oh also, they auto-charge a 20% service tip. Fuck you, you horrible irresponsible assholes. read more

Not family friendly. We came early season, almost no one in restaurant and walk in and wanted to sit on the patio. We have our 4 month old infant with us in her car seat attached to a small stroller. They told us we'd have to remove her and leave the stroller outside, we asked for management saying there's almost no one inside and they can put us in a corner as we can't put her in a highchair, she can not sit up. They told us it's a town rule, no exceptions. Odd that every other place we've eaten has had no issue and let us right in. This is a walking town, even if the baby sat up they'd be asking us to leave very expensive equipment outside unattended. You couldn't ask for a better view of the Maine coast. You feel like you are inches away from the Atlantic. Great seafood options. The lobster, shrimp, scallop with Alfredo sauce over linguine was perfect. The Wifi and cell service is spotty. But there were little things that made it not feel like a classy dining experience. We came for lunch and our cups were plastic and small, there was no background music playing in the enclosed patio, my husband also ordered the lobster roll that was $27 (a fair price for a lobster roll) and opted to not go with the French fries, which were an upcharge, so his came with a chip bag of lays potato chips. We decided to take a drive and have lunch and stopped at Perkins Cove Maine and had one of the worst lunch ever. We both ordered some clam chowder and were served 2 cold bowls of the chowder . I tried to get the attention of the waitress but finally had to place the chowder at the edge of the table and finally was asked something wrong ? They replaced the chowder and it was better but now on to the crab cakes. Crab cakes were like 2 hockey pucks with no taste and I had a few bites but decided no best to just pay the bill and head home. Located right in Perkins cove and right on the ocean at the start of the famous Marginal Way. We sat at the bar and had very good service. They have a really nice drink menu. I had a Perkins Cove punch that was delicious. For dinner I had baked stuffed shrimp mashed and green beans. It was very good. Others had seafood Diavlo and it was filled with seafood. Lobster, shrimp, mussels and scallops over pasta. Nice hot red sauce. They have a nice menu and the atmosphere really nice. The only downside is no a/c. Located on the water front...where the Marginal Way begins or ends...with beautiful views and a totally relaxing atmosphere. This was our first meal in Maine...so I had to get lobster and it did not disappoint! I had the lobster grilled cheese...and it was delicious. No worries, they have lobster many other ways...you'd be amazed at every which way they serve lobster in Maine! I was a little disappointed when I realized the "potato chips" was just a bag of Lay's chips. At a place like this you'd think they'd be handmade and/or fresh. Even a brand more local would have been better than just Lay's if it must be served in a bag. My guys were less adventurous, they had the bacon blue burger and the other had a regular cheeseburger. They were both good, but the cheeseburger tasted like one you can get anywhere. However, the blue cheese burger was better and if you love blue cheese, they don't skimp on it...you will definitely have enough. The fries were a tad boring or "regular" (for the lack of a better term), no special seasoning or anything. You can't beat the setting and the view. When you sit outside...you literally sit on the waterfront practically. The day we went it was chilly, but it was warm on their patio. They had heavy plastic covers around the outside seating area or else we would have frozen from the wind. It was just a wonderful "Welcome to Maine" setting for us...just wish the food matched (the food did fill the void). There is also indoor seating and a full bar. Erik was our waiter and he is/was absolutely charming, kind, helpful and spot on! There is not a private parking area, however, it is located next to a public paid parking area with a lot of spaces. Plus, it is located in a central location where you can see the sights, walk the marginal way and check out Oarweed Cove, shop, see Perkins Cove, the footbridge, etc...and have a meal before or after your touristy escapades or just take a break for a drink or dessert. Today was disappointing in many ways, the food (fried fish)was clearly over cooked, ( I'm saying this as a former restaurant line cook/fry cook) our server was very nice but she was so new she did not know what to do to fix it, when we said we could not eat it. The salmon was very flavorful and the salad was generous in its portion and good. I also tried my friend's Brussels sprouts, which were very well cooked. Been here a few times when I go home to visit family. The view! It is beautiful and cozy. This place is as casual or fancy as you want to make it. Always able to walk in and have a great seat. Always get the Lobster. This year my kids were old enough to order their own food and of course is not seafood. Burgers and chicken. Not good. My son didn't even eat his burger. It was cooked beyond a crisp. All the food was mediocre and very expensive. You could do better at a small side shack anyplace in Maine. The management frowns upon on the sharing lobster plates, but you can get around this by ordering more entrees according to the waitress. Great location, but food is mediocre, a tourist trap. Save money and eat some where else (That Place is awesome) and walk the marginal way for free. Wife had lobster role and tasted like old lobster they hadn't sold. Served with bag of Ruffles. Told waitress and she said that talked to owner Jackie and she said because it was half eaten (two bites) she wouldn't refund or discount. The wait was long which we thought was a good sign. The waitress was sorta blunt and not too friendly asking us to wait outside. We understood why, but her approach was not very welcoming. We chose to sit at the bar instead of waiting. We probably waited 10 minutes for our drink order...at a bar. We then waited another 20 minutes to place our food order. Two other couples that were seated after us had their order taken before us. We order the Cajun shrimp for an appetizer. Not impressed. Someone else's frozen fried shrimp with someone else's Cajun season sprinkled on it. I order the lobster roll which was bland and she ordered the Jackie's special, which was less the adequate.
