That gave me a good vibe just by walking in. Sky is a life saver. I got into a car accident and had to pay out of pocket to get my car fixed. I've quoted at several other shops. All gonna cost me more than $1000 plus they said I may need to pay more once the parts are taken down and if they find something more. I left my car at Jacks, Sky did a really thorough estimation. He gave me two final quotes for new and used parts. The price was much affordable and reasonable. He is honest and he knows his stuff. I would like to thank my former player who I coached in high school. He has become a very fine young man and is well on his way to a bright future in the automotive industry. Found a crack in the Valve cover, which we believed was a valve gasket leak. Gave us two options for parts, Original and aftermarket. Parts and labor was as expected. Fransen gave us an all around check up on the car and gave us the info we needed to move forward. Honest and upfront from a auto shop? Yep! The shop also recommended a nearby smog test center, which we used, and were able to get repairs, smog, and registration completed in 3 days. We will be back, no question. The last time that I went to Jacks Auto Service the main mechanic the owner wanted to charge me $400 to fix my cars air conditioner. He said that he would diagnose my car free of charge. He charged me $100 just to look at my car for a very quick moment. After I told him that I wasn't going to give him $400 to fix my cars air conditioning. He got angry at me. My mom called him and asked him why it would be $400 to get the cars air conditioner fixed. He started yelling at her. My mom is elderly. I left immediately. I went to another local mechanic in Alhambra and he charged me $60 to fix my cars air conditioner. I would avoid this place at all costs. Not only will they try and take all of your money they may yell at you in a threatening way. They don't even deserve one star. read more

The owner isn't an honest person ! During a conversation the owner told us , He suggests that he replaces different parts of the car which is ridiculous cause nothing was broken!! We of course declined, Unfortunately when he was giving us a diagnostic opinion which charged us $100 is supposed to be free After that day the horn doesn't work, when i turned on the radio it started smoking It doesn't work either. It was frustrating at first, but after I upgrade my AAA to Gold Plus, my un drivable car can be towed 100 miles anywhere for free! So I can have my car repaired out of Orange County! If I could give it half a star I would...I feel generous today The only reason why I went to this shop was because it was nearby work so during my break I decided to drop off my vehicle for a routine oil change. I came back to pick up my car and notice immediately that my light was still on and noted that my father (a mechanic) would change the oil for my car but have not had the time recently. Upon hearing that the worker immediately performed the oil change. At this point I was annoyed/frustrated and could not help but to think what if my father was not a mechanic? Would they send other customers away thinking that they performed the oil change and take their money? Honestly, places like these give mechanics a shady rep. Avoid at all cost! read more

Simply put, he'll give it to you straight - right between the eyes. Busted my air condenser unit driving on the freeway and he was upfront about the cost of repair and even advised that I should consider NOT fixing it and returning it after the end of lease and possibly negotiate a deal. Who does that? Cool, honest people that's who. Parking available right outside of the garage area. It's situated just inside of an alleyway. Call first and go during an off hour as it can get packed during peak hours and weekends. There's a public park next door with a basketball court, so hoop up while you're waiting. No excuses. Jack is a great guy. he is honest, down to earth; and without question, he will show you the old parts of your vehicle that he replaced. It's kinda hidden, but I own a few houses down the street from Jack's; and it's very convenient if you reside near to San Gabriel. I worked in the auto industry when I was younger which taught me truly valuable lessons. I learned a lot about cars. I also learned that honest mechanics are really difficult to find. Most mechanics will try to work you especially if you're a female because they assume (ass of u and me) that your only knowledge of cars is putting the key in the ignition and hitting the gas. I've actually tested this theory a few times by playing dumb and pretending I know absolutely nothing about cars. (Drum roll: And...the Oscar goes to...oops I'm not white - never mind) I must be a great actress though because they buy it and prove to be dishonest so I end up calling them out on their BS and wishing them a good day. The look on their face is priceless. Obviously they've never heard the saying, 'Don't ever judge a book by its cover'. With that said, it's refreshing to finally find a mechanic that I can trust.
