The Kansas City sauce was the best one! We bought 4 bottles and got two free dry rubs by checking in on here. Mom and I shared the three meat combo with brisket, chicken, and turkey. Smack dab in the middle of the honky tonks, Jacks was an excellent BBQ experience for us while we were in Nashville for vacation this summer. Do not let the line out front discourage you, it moves fast and is totally worth the wait. A local friend took us to lunch there and we couldn't have been happier. I had a rib plate with baked beans and mac n cheese and it filled me through dinner. The bone slid right out of the ribs, then I sampled each of the 3 homemade bbq sauces they provided. So there is a flavor for everyone. The sides and cornbread were delicious too. Grab a plate, bring it upstairs where there are plenty of additional seats and relax. I came here and IMMEDIATELY knew I was in the right place as you could smell the smoke and the line of hungry customers at the door. Great place for bbq! Meat was great, I had the ribs and brisket. For sides I had the macaroni and cheese and green beans. Most often I'm disappointed with the macaroni and cheese at restaurants because I prefer my mamas which is baked and cheese all the way through, not the kind where cheese on top or has very little. It's cafeteria style as you make your way down the line pointing to the tasty looking options. I ordered the two meat dish, ribs and brisket, and my ordered the half rack of ribs. The portions were huge for the price. The meat was absolutely delicious. My sides were the green beans and mac and cheese and they were only average. But the meat made up for it. Went to the Trinity Lane location because of the parking situation downtown. Our table had the pork shoulder and brisket. Both were good, however, both were rather cold when served. To make things worse, the place was cold as a meat locker (why is that?) so the plates get cold rather quickly. The brisket I had was on the dry side but with good flavor and smokiness. The best part of the experience was the sauce selection at a condiments station (which adds to the time it takes to get to your food.....making it colder still.) As the for sauces: six to choose from: Tennessee Original, Texas Sweet, Kansas City Style, Carolina Style, Music City White Sauce, and my favorite....XXX-911 which is a mix of the Tennessee and Texas sauces with extra kick. I bring all of my visitors to Nashville here. You get to have a great time on Broadway and have some of the BBQ around. As soon as you approach Jack's, you smell their amazing smoker. When you belly up to the counter, you see all the amazing meat. The 3 meat combo is huge and comes with two sides. And they're all delicious. The only call out is, they have a ton of different BBQ sauces available. I forgot to get my selection at the register. And due to COVID, the sauces are in packets, instead of the bottles they used to be. In the upstairs dining room, they only had 2 varieties. So, be sure to get your supply at the register. I can't say the same for the brisket. The cut of meat was really great but they removed every bit of fat, or it was cooked just way too long because it was really dry. On the thicker portions where it wasn't quite so overdone it was very good love the smoky flavor but I had to Albert float it in barbecue sauce it was so dry. Went here last night to see who had the best ribs between the top two we found on the internet... Jack's and Martin's. Jack's won for best ribs, hands down. Tender, juicy, flavorful, and accompanied by the best sauces. I'm bummed I didn't see the check in bonus until today, but I didnt want to write a review until we'd tried them both. This was our first time in Nashville and even though Broadway isn't our scene, it was worth braving the crowd for the ribs. The brisket, smoked sausage, and pork were also good.
