We visited Jack's Shack twice on our visit (once for lunch and once for breakfast). I would say we had a better lunch than breakfast; the fish and jackfruit tacos are both really nice, although if you're hungry, get the bigger order. The tomato salsa is the best! For breakfast we tried the French toast (not the best, and didn't come with any syrup, we put honey on it). It was pretty soggy in general. The breakfast wrap had a lot of spinach in it, maybe too much for our taste, but of course depends on how much you like spinach! The spices on the breakfast wrap were a little on the sour side, maybe a collection of flavors I wasn't used to. Also tried a vegan cookie which was more the consistency of a muffin, but still tasty! Check this spot out for some healthy bites, as sometimes Puerto Rican food can be on the meaty, fried side of life, and your stomach could use a break from that. read more

Vegetarian/Vegan friendly! We went there for lunch after the beach and for breakfast the next day. There is gravel lot parking there. Pictured is the tropical French toast and a breakfast sandwich. The sandwiches were on fresh baked bead which was absolutely fantastic. For lunch the veggie tacos and burritos were so fresh and delicious! They have sauces you can add yourself at the end which included a pineapple jalapeño and coconut habanero which were both so good!! Sadly they did not have the jackfruit tacos but the ginger lemonade was very refreshing and so was the watermelon juice. Plenty of shaded outside seating and if you're lucky you might see the cutest most perfect dog named Stevie! read more

Note!! This place is not located by the beach! It's located where Happy Bowls used to be. Search Happy Bowls and go to that location. I tried to change the address on Yelp but I don't know if it will work. Either way, it was delicious and decently priced. My husband got the breakfast plate with eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast. I ordered the acai bowl and it was bomb dot com. I think it was the last one they had left for the day so hopefully they get more soon! It was topped with fruit and granola and absolutely delicious. Nice getting to have a fresh breakfast before hitting the beach without all of the heaviness of pastries. The staff was super sweet and accommodating. This is now an indoor cafe next to Happy Bowls and no longer a truck. Jack's Shack has amazing fish tacos - the fish texture is so smooth and it's not fried either. My boyfriend and I ate this two days in a row for lunch, so good. The first time we also got a breakfast sandwich and added avocado, but it's simply 3 slices of avocado, barely melted cheese and egg in a very plain roll - not worth the cost. The second time we just got two fried eggs and toast (both side items) for a total of $3 and it was GREAT for its value - so much better than the breakfast sandwich! read more

Jack's Shack is amazing. We were lucky to discover this gem after a surf session at Sandy Beach. The fish tacos were outstanding. I'm gluten-free, and the two guys that prepared our tacos were on it with perfectly crisp corn tortillas. The chicken tacos were perfectly done (flour tortillas this time). The vibe is perfect. Walking up to the shack you can just smell the delishiness. Loved the string lights and the bright green plants in tin coffee cans. Everyone seemed to be all smiles and just enjoying the moment. YUM! If I'd had more cash on me I would've done more damage to this delicious food truck. For some reason I thought the food trucks in Puerto Rico would accept credit, but don't be fooled! Take cash or you'll be really sad. I had read about jacks shack and wanted to visit, but didn't realize we were there until we drove by. Score! We were headed to the lighthouse to check out the view of the surfers and turned around immediately to go get the food! The view is beautiful everywhere around there. They have seating under the trees and a cute hammock to chill in. The best part is the food! Organic and fresh food. We shared the fish tacos and I wanted more! The fish was definitely the focus of the taco as there wasn't much else than the tortilla, but the fish was so good I was okay with it. Who would ever thought that a hole in the wall would be one of the most ideal places for lunch after a very difficult day of surfing (fine so everyday I surf is difficult for me due to may lack of talent). Jack's shack is quite unique in its approach to food. As we drove by is expecting run-of-the-mill random shack. What we got instead was amazing "gourmet fast-food" prepared in a manner one would expect at a fancy restaurant. Jack's Shack is literally run by a guy who moved from Massachusetts who clearly has had prior experience with cooking. He takes tremendous pride in his offerings and offers tremendous service. For reasonable prices (less than $10) you will have available to you several different sandwich and salad options made with fresh ingredients. The veggie burger included a home-made pattie which was beyond substantial. Did I also mention it was hideously delicious? Also, don't forget to try the banana bread.
