I go every Thursday for wings but I recommend the burgers as well. They also have Hot Pepper cheese balls that are great too.

Nice bar atmosphere, except it was very cold. Three TVs with sports games. Buffalo Mac n cheese was good. The waitress was awesome. .

Steve Mckenzie was the chef back then for our meal. Tonight..:Amazing dining experience The Franklin House Tavern 1746. Our server Travis was a delight and we made some friends in the tavern while having some of the best food I've had in a long time! The 3 oz Japanese Waygu was absolutely mouth watering. And perfect size for me. The hand cut fries were not only excellent, the portion was huge and they are coming home mostly. The AAA Saku Block tuna tartare with house made Kimchi was brilliant. We met the new owner and chef, Daniel LeBoon who knows all of the foodies out there. (He did Anthony Bourdain's tribute dinner but I'll let him tell you about it) such an amazing meal and we will absolutely be back!!!

Great flavor, beautiful balance of sweet and acid in the port wine sauce. Lobster Thermidor had great flavor and was well seasoned. The Potato Au Gratin was not the best. It was under seasoned. The broccoli was cooked to perfection and seasoned well. Daniel's Signature Crab Cakes were well prepared and clean. It was two cakes that were all crab, no filler. Overall the crab cakes were under seasoned. The shrimp mousse was a refreshing change to the dish. I could not taste the dijon cream. Overall it was a great experience. The dishes needed more seasoning.

So a "real time" review as I am sitting at the bar awaiting a replacement order…read more It is hard to describe the burger I was served. It was way over cooked but that was not a full description. In addition to being charred beyond well done it was also very dense.... Definitely not a coarse grind. The combination was a patty that was inedible. Ate less than 1/4. Why not a worse rating? The female barkeep was so attentive and on top of it that it was still a decent meal. Happily replaced it with a 1/2 dozen wings which were very good.

This one takes the cake & costs the Hilltop any repeat business from us. The pictures are SUPPOSED to be of the 8oz Haddock Dinner for $18.99 & the French onion soup for $4.99. The fork in the picture is for reference only as the food was completely inedible. Sadly, we ordered it all to-go & didn't realize it was all terrible until home (over 1/2 hr away). The haddock dinner was burnt, not 8oz OR haddock & it was missing the lemon butter/bread crumb topping as described on the menu but had an abundance of paprika. I believe they switched the haddock dinner order with another paprika haddock dish on the menu - but conveniently forgot to lower the price. The French onion soup was a cup of broth. No croutons or Swiss cheese in it or on the side, as described on the menu. Sadly, this was take-out & we never looked until we got home (over 1/2 hour away). All over-priced as all inedible. Totally feel cheated. Email with pictures sent to management - received absolutely no response.
