I been here a few times and usually it's a great experience. Today when my husband went to pick up my order and brought it home. I had a couple of peoples orders... on the bag it said my name but inside i had someone else's name on the food and then i had a few items that weren't mine. THE ONLY THING I GOT THAT WAS MINE, was my drink and chicken tenders and urban fries.. i order $40+ worth of food and got maybe $25+ worth of food.. I am completely upset ... even the recipe on the bag had all the items i order but nothing from that order was in there except for the chicken tenders, urban fries and drink.. read more

I think we can all agree that majority of Jack's have ridiculously long lines. Obviously because the food is so damn good. I will say that this Jack's is the best at moving that line both quickly and efficiently. I visit this Jack's quite often, due to it being so close to my job, and every time that I've been here my experience has been extremely pleasant. I never have to wait in line for too long and my food is always ready within 5-10 minutes. It's great! I love this place. If you're looking at grabbing a quick bite to eat but don't want to eat fast food I would definitely recommend this place! Fast food timing with way above average food. read more

Enjoyed lunch with my sister, nephew and niece. We both chose Chinese Chicken Salad and the little guy had chicken and fries (which looked delicious). Niece is a baby . My sister is a regular here and ordered Urban Fries too. Those were delicious with a little (or a lot, if you're wimpy like me) kick. This is the largest Jack's I've been too. They were very busy, line to the door, and on top of their game! I love how in our section of dining room, we sat with a large group of high school / college students and the local girl scout mom having lunch with her mom and little ones (cookies on display). This place is for everyone. I enjoyed my salad. My only comment is the lettuce was wet. This made the crispy noodles soggy. All in all, it tasted good. read more

Went there with the fam to try out their LUNCH. I had the made to order salad and my parents both had the Sonoma steak and tri tip. Each of our meals was superb! Today they went above and beyond for us, we ended up ordering salads to go from there through Doordash, and my wife dumped her salad on the kitchen floor by accident. Well, I received a reply from my recent review and was offered a complimentary meal due to the mishap. Kudos to caring!! That goes a long way with me, but that is the reason I'm only giving three stars. I went back to take advantage of the meal and ordered the Achiote chicken salad and was told they are out of the cheese they use but offer to sub feta. I've been coming here for 4 years.. they mess up your order every other visit. If you get a salad and don't customize your order it will be correct MOST the time. If you come here and get a sandwich and ask for extra items or melted cheese or meat chopped instead of meat slabs on your sandwich..your order will be messed up. I have been by Jack's Urban Eats for awile and thought we would try their food. My son had a salad and it had salmon and added to the salad, it was terrible. The salmon tasted really fishy and was probably Frozen. I ordered mac and cheese oh, and the mac and cheese forgot to have the cheese on it. It was dry no flavor and probably the worst I've ever had. I came to Jacks Urban Eats on a Saturday afternoon with my Husband and Parents because my Parents were in town and had never tried Jacks before. Surprisingly we were able to find parking and a table easily on a Saturday so we were off to a good start! The dining room is large and they also have a good sized outside patio. I ordered a Build Your Own Salad with romaine lettuce, vinegarette, walnuts, beets, tofu, blue cheese, croutons and quinoa. My Husband had the Spicy Buffalo Chicken Salad, and my Parents had the Pulled Pork Sandwich and the Turkey Sandwich. We also ordered a Small Order of Urban Fries to share. My salad was ok, it was a salad so nothing too special. Nothing I couldn't do on my own. My Husband said his salad was ok too, but could have used more chicken. My Parents both enjoyed their sandwiches and they were probably the best part of the meal. The urban fries were good as well, and they were my favorite thing. I would come back to Jacks if someone else wanted to go, but I wouldn't come back here again on my own accord. I don't see anything special about it to keep coming back. I highly recommend the steak salad. I usually requested with light on the onions. The freshness and the flavor of the steak is delicious. Their salads are always fresh. I second choice is always there BBQ tri-tip sandwich. The service here is always good. It can be very noisy though during lunchtime or after 6 PM. read more

I have been coming to Jacks since I lived in mid town Sac and pretty much have visited them all in the Sacramento area. I love love LOVE their create your own salad. You pick the lettuce, then add 6 toppings and a dressing. Its then tossed all together for you in a big bowl. I always get tri tip on mine. It is good, but always very pink....so if you don't like your meat red, I would skip it. Also, they offer half or full size salads, but i have found that they always seem like the same size depending on who makes them. Save yourself a few bucks and get the half. They have cheesy bread that looks amazing, but it really isn't. For .45, you can get a slice of fresh soft french bread that is behind the counter. read more

This looked promising from the moment we walked in...lots of people, long line, tables full and a great looking menu! I ordered the Shrimp Thai Salad and Lasse ordered the Steak Salad. I was a little confused, as the guy who took our order just walked away, so we paid for the food and we were lucky to find an open table that wasn't dirty. When the salads arrived, they looked fabulous! Too bad my eyes weren't eating today....the soba noodles were gummy and the salad was not very interesting or tasty at all. Sandwiches done right with the most scrumptious fries ever (Urban fries and garlic fries are to die for). Check. Great atmosphere and good outdoor seating. Check. We have been doing takeout for the past few months and I have to say BRAVO, Jack's. We usually order one of their plates which comes with chicken, tri tip or turkey and 2 sides. The chicken is perfectly cooked, tasty well-seasoned veggies and yummy mashed potatoes and gravy. It is a full meal for $14, and the food is high quality. Great value as other restaurants would charge more. I'll keep coming back! read more

This place is really good but..... My only issue is the efficiency of the people taking orders...one person was taking orders for sandwiches and the other was taking orders for salads. If people don't want salads, why can't they just take orders for other type of food. Line was backed up because only one person was taking orders while the other was just standing. Came here for lunch today and easily racked up a $37 bill between 2 people. I was really surprised being that it's a very casual place and we came for LUNCH - but the steak salad was HUGE and the tri-tip plate looked like a full on dinner entree. Steak was tender and delicious. Add a side of soup and a few drinks and we were practically rolling out of there. Usually this is my favorite place to get my salads at but tonight I was so dissatisfied! It was pouring rain and I came in and ordered my usual "build your own" salad. Usually they make it in front of you so there are no mistakes but this is my first time coming in since COVID and I had to order it at the register. I am on a strict diet and there's certain things I can and can't have. By the time I got home to eat my salad it was totally wrong. Two of the items I chose were not on there and instead there was another item on it I can't have (chickpeas) . So I had to go through and pick out every little chickpea just so I could eat it, even though it was still wrong. I was not about to drive back in the rain, plus I hate to return food. TWO LONG HAIRS IN MY FOOD! Well, I WAS a big fan of Jacks, eating there quite frequently. Within a month period, on 2 separate visits, I found a VERY long hair in my food. I mean I pulled out a hair 4-5 inches long from my mouth. The first one was a dark hair, the second a light hair, both very long and definitely not mine. I let the first one slide (but did have them make me a new salad) because, well these things happen. But after the second one, my stomach turned and so did any desire to eat there again. I tried calling to let the manager know about the hair food, but keep getting a voicemail. I left a message but got no return phone call. It's upsetting because I do really like the food but after pulling that last hair out my mouth, I have no desire to eat there again. read more

Jacks is so good! The urban fries are to die for (ask for a little extra cheese to make them even better). Always get the Jacks classic but there are many awesome things on the menu. Actually, we did go back. We didn't have masks. Everyone working there is a high school kid...no adult supervision (at least when I was there). They kept yelling at us from the kitchen "you need a mask", "where's your mask", "get a mask"! Nobody else in the restaurant was wearing a mask!! Evidently, you only needed one when ordering, but there was a glass barrier across the entire area between us and the employees. We said, "Look we'll order standing 6 feet back from the glass". Nope, not good enough. At this point, I wouldn't want those angry glaring yapping teenagers pouring me a drink less alone making my dinner! They successfully ran us out of the place...right past ten other people sitting at their tables WITHOUT masks on. But they didn't just run us out the place that day....they ran us out forever. I like ordering salads (if I'm feeling healthy) or the tri tip plate, which comes with your choice of two sides. I really like the the mashed potatoes (huge portion), or the roasted corn. I've had bariatric surgery and the portion size is far to big and the kids meal is not very nutritious. Such a waste as salads don't hold over very well. Second bad experience in a row. We're done here. My normal salad has gone far downhill, except for it's price, 14.22 plus tip. The Beats on my salad were fibrous and bitter. The meat some of it was raw and some of it was charred and overcooked. The roasted candied walnuts I used to have on my salad are no longer. I was told this is due to allergies of some of the employees. Are you kidding me? And finally the dressing that used to be a delicious balsamic vinaigrette has turned into a bland dressing that does not even taste the same. We are done here. read more
