Jack's is what you would expect from a normal restaurant that sells higher end salads. Each salad is really tasty, and the mashed potatoes are really fresh n tasty too. However, for the price of each salad being over $10, and the amount of meat you get on the salad, you really leave with a conflicted feeling of whether or not you are full. On one end, you're thinking "I just ate all those veggies... and spent $10! I must be full!" But in no time at all, you end up needing to eat some more. I guess that's the thing with salads, right? I give jacks a solid 3.5 stars since the taste is up there, just more pricey than I would normally expect to pay for a salad. Maybe some of the other items are more fulfilling :). I would normally give Jack's a four rating. The fries were good however I ordered extra urban and I had to ask for it. For $1.75 extra you should not have to make sure it is on your order. In the past I have chicken strips and one chicken strip has been the size of the two I got today combined. To make matters worse the chicken strip was fully bread and one small piece of chicken. Again to pay an extra six dollars for chicken strips that is all bread yes a rip off. This saddens me because I have always been a fan of Jack's. Quality food and great taste is what comes to mind when I think of Jack's Urban Eats. Conveniently located in the Raley's Plaza in Natomas, this store has ample parking around. Been a loyal patron for few years and the number one thing that sticks is their food quality plus along with speedy food delivery without impacting their level of service. This place is always busy, which mostly means it's a well liked by the masses. You have to go order yourself. The choices are umpteen. From yummy salads to your choice of meat. They switch the menu items from time to time. Like their most recent salad Achiote Chicken Bowl is a must try. The chickpeas that they use in this salad are so well seasoned. The Banh Mi Fries were to die for. Some of the other my personal items are Cajun Chicken, BBQ Chicken and their Jacks Urban Fries are definitely a cut above the rest. I highly recommend this place. I like so many things about Jack's that it's hard to remember them all. There's only one downside - - and it's a huge one for me - - and that's there very limited non-meat food options. I don't eat meat, so it's the same cheese entrée every time I go there with family and friends, unless I want to load up on side orders. That said, I give it an A+ plus for atmosphere, staff, drinks, quality of food, preparation, cleanliness, and so much more! I just wish they would add just one plant-based protein option, which would allow so many of their entrées to instantly be on the menu for people like me that can't eat meat. Love love lovee Jacks! I'm all here for the salads and the specialty fries they sell. The customer service here isn't bad but isn't amazing either. They're all college students who are just trying to get by. I've been to 3 jacks locations and this one is probably the most laid back of them all. The atmosphere isn't as busy as the one downtown or the one in Fair Oaks. This one has less cars driving by and they have amazing outdoor seating. Although the amount of indoor seating at this Jacks is quite limited. The best salad in the world is here. I always get the salad that's on menu and it's called the Western BBQ Steak. I always sub like 3 things out and replace them. Yes, you can do that without extra charge! Additionally the price on that salad is $11.50 and than I usually get a cheese bread on the side which is $1 The prices are a little expensive for a college student like myself but for regular working people this should be plentiful affordable. read more

I'm so tired of being screwed by this place! I don't think I have ever been to this location and have left satisfied as I have with several other locations. It's like this place gives no sh!ts about their customers and the food they serve them. I went with my boyfriend this evening to pick up dinner to take home. All I wanted was a salad and they couldn't even do that right, again. When I opened up the box I realized immediately that I paid over $12 for a bunch of lettuce and a small handful of toppings. I literally counted only 5 walnuts, 1/2 of a hard boiled egg, 6 dried cranberries, maybe 1/2 teaspoon of corn. There was definitely less than 3 oz of tri tip, which they didn't bother to finish cutting so it was just a clump of meat. To top it off, the lettuce consisted of about 80% of the hard white middle part of the romaine, hardly any leaf, and I even got a nice bonus chunk of inedible cabbage guts. My boyfriend ordered the tri tip plate with their autumn veggies and garlic mashed potatoes. He did not receive garlic potatoes, his meat was cold and overcooked, and the sweet potatoes in the veggies were so raw he couldn't even eat them. I'm so done with this place. I also have a HUGE issue with a company that doesn't allow you to call and speak to someone, I find that terribly rude and pretty crappy customer service. Living in Natomas, there aren't a whole lot of 'healthier' options to choose from. It was nice having this as an option. I used to really enjoy coming here but the last few times I've been really disappointed. My go-to is the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich and each consecutive time the chicken has gotten smaller. I just door dashed it today and the chicken was half the size of the bun. For a sandwich that's pretty pricy and doesn't come with anything else, I think it's very unacceptable. Does it really, I mean really cost $9 to have a salad? Are potato's so expensive that a scoop costs that much??? Also, this is counter service...it is not like we are paying for the atmosphere! So here's the thing. I love Jack's and this is my go to location but recently we've been noticing a few flaws. Let's start with the good. This location is conveniently located close to home, they have plenty of parking, the lines are never too long and service is always great! Hands down they have the best salads in town, ingredients are always fresh and I love their vinaigrette dressing. If i'm not building my own custom salad with vinaigrette I'm usually having the Chicken Caesar or Tri Tip Salad. The salad portions are perfect and even the small can be pretty filling. Now if you've ever had Jack's Urban fries you'd know that they are awesome. They are crispy fries covered in spicy chili oil, melted blue cheese and chili flakes. Sounds spicy but I promise they are not. So the last two times I've visited I noticed the portion size for fries has gotten significantly smaller. Sad. I mean... for $3.75 you get double or triple the portion size anywhere else. What happened? It's not like potatoes are expensive! Sigh... despite the smaller portion sizes I've been ordering the Urban Fries ever now and then but it hurts... Also the last time we visited my husband ordered the Cuban. We usually do the tri-tip or chicken sandwich but decided to try something new. Unfortunately the Cuban was extremely dry! The sauce it was served with was good and helped get things down a little easier but the pork was just way to dry on its own. Maybe it was a bad pork day but next time I think we'll stick with the tri-tip or steak. Despite the two issues above there is no doubt I'll be returning to Jack's. After all their salads are the best and I just can't say no to Urban Fries. Hopefully this location can make some adjustments for the better. read more

When you catch them in a good mood, they are very friendly and efficient! When you catch them in a bad mood, they are unfriendly and not motivated. BUT usually, they are pretty good most of the time. Food: I love the trip tip!! I love eating the tri tip sandwich and love eating the tri tip just carved! Get it rare because that's the best way to eat red meat!!! Tip: ask for ah jus to eat with your meat! It makes it that much better! The salads are great too! Fresh ingredients and different types of salads BUT my absolute favorite is the Caesar! The signature side to me is the garlic fries! Probably one of the best garlic fries I ever had! They are hot, crispy, and full of garlic!!!!! I also love the blue cheese fries! The taste of this macaroni and cheese can best be described as what macaroni and cheese tastes like when you have COVID and can no longer taste food. You can feel the sensation that there is food in your mouth but you actually can't actually recognize what that food is. Understanding the status of COVID infection as negative, I am offended at the imposition. Alas, as determined above, it isn't me, it's you. So, dearest Jack's, do you hate us? Did we do something wrong? The pandemic was rough for us all and perhaps you're overworked and underpaid? Or maybe you've gotten used to packing mediocre food up in bags and boxes that you've forgotten who you're actually serving for a minute. I kindly ask that should you not want to serve this dish anymore, simply give it the dignity it once deserved and remove it from the menu. You mustn't inflict emotional and physical damage on the taste buds of your well meaning, hard working patrons. FOOD POISONING- *I'm writing this review based on this visit only* Today I went to Jacks and ordered my usual "create your own" salad. I chose Kale, Walnuts, Roasted Mushrooms, Tofu, Roasted Beats, Blue Cheese, and those are the usual items that I get. Today for my dressing I changed it up to Lemon-Herb. I ate my meal, took a nap, and woke up with bad headache an hour or two later. I went to the washroom and started to vomit. I vomited out the entire salad. With throbbing headache. I reached out to my doctor friend, told my symptoms, and was able to get a diagnose of Food Poisoning. Their customer service is always 5 star. After tossing the dressing in, I notice a few dark spots on the end leaves and thought maybe those were caught on the edges after closing the lid (not a big deal as it happens sometimes). I am sure the normal amount is good. But SNAP, I love good cheddar cheese. I think this sandwich is even better the next day. Chicken Strips... NOT YOUR AVERAGE CHICKEN STRIPS. I order from here almost on a daily basis because the food is really good, prepared quick(extremely quick, one time I ordered ahead for a specific time and reason and my order was ready 20 minutes ahead of time like perfect, thanks for the order ahead option), and it's super close to my house. But honestly half the time, my order is prepared incorrectly. From my steak being under or over cooked despite my request, getting jelly instead of gravy (lol) and at this point I'm convinced that the urban sauce comes out of the employees paychecks. I always pay for extra urban on my fries and also write it on the note and seriously half the time they don't add it or other times it will have almost no urban sauce at all.
