It's simple. Jack's Wood-Fired Pizza is good. If you're tired of the run-of-the-mill American crust, or you like European or artisan pizzas, it's time to head in to Jack's. Their crust features a delicate exterior crispness and a flavorful interior chew (but it's not gummy). They cook it in the front of the house in a wood-fired brick oven hundreds of degrees hotter than a gas oven, which leads to incomparable flavor and texture. And that's just the base layer. Their sauces are fresh, house-made, and just pop with flavor. The toppings, too, are fresh and unique. I am particularly fond of their Loukanika sausage, and their margherita pizza is done right--with rounds of fresh mozzarella, a crushed-tomato sauce, and fresh leaves of basil. Meat lover? They have a carnivore pizza, or you can put your own together from their good-sized list of available toppings. They do their soups in-house, too, and they are GOOD. I came in tonight expecting to have the kind of pizza you find in a small town wanna be wood fire oven. I was completely wrong. This is pizza made with local and freshly made ingredients. Right down to their own pickled jalapeño and house made barbecue sauce. We ordered the Lyon bread both regular and pesto. It was a full pizza by itself. We sampled the salads and a great pizza. Bbq sauce with prosciutto and chicken. The chicken was cooked in house and the flavor was sweet and moist. The crust of the pie was cooked to perfection. Just the right blend of crunch then chew. The live music gave a great addition to the quality of the food. A must stop in Cache Valley. read more

I'm giving Jack's two stars because every time I drive by, the place looks crowded. They must sell something good. My problem is that I've never been able to eat there. Over Thanksgiving weekend my pizza-loving son was in town, so we decided to check it out. Website said that it closed at 10 on Saturdays. We showed up right at 9:00 but the door was locked and the staff were mopping and wiping down. I knocked on the door and they explained that no one had come in for the past hour, so they decided to close shop. Huh? Over Christmas break, same son was in town. We tried to put in a large online order. Website estimated that it would be ready at 5:10. I showed up at 5:25 and was told that it wasn't ready. Came back at 5:50. That is when they explained that online orders over $75 generate an email confirmation. Because we didn't respond to that, they hadn't started our order. I'm sure the pizza is great but that staff is weirdly incompetent. read more

Oh boy did we enjoy some downright delicious pizzas at Jack's! The Sunnyside with cream sauce, potato, creminelli prosciutto, bacon, smoke cheddar, and two eggs, finished with maple syrup was awesome! It had a great flavor and we all really loved it. The Americana with Italian sausage, green peppers, red onion, mushroom and black Olives was very good also. Let's not forget the Lyon Bread we snacked on for our appetizer; it was cheesy and delicious too, especially coupled with some tasty marinara sauce! With many creative pizzas on the menu Jack's serves up some great grub. I will certainly be going back. The only downside to our evening was how noisy the restaurant was. Thee was a musician playing live music much too loud and with the noise from the kitchen and the other patrons it was very loud at Jack's. It made to hard to carry on a conversation without sounding like we were yelling at one another. It was a Saturday night though, so maybe it's tamer at other times? I have celiacs disease and I heard this place was good! Good is an understatement! I got the cauliflower crust margarita pizza and it tasted AMAZING, and I felt good afterwards! I loved this place, inside is your typical pizza atmosphere with zany wall murals and friendly faces. We got the Pesto Lyon bread and the Chuckwagon pizza. The pesto bread was really good and the Chuckwagon was phenomenal, something I love about it is that the pork actually tastes like meat! A lot of pulled pork items at other restaurants don't have that delicious tender meaty flavor but this place does pork right! The service was fast and friendly even on a Friday night, next time I'm in Logan I'll definitely be back! read more

I come here with my girlfriends every year and we all get different kinds of pizza and share them. The only one that was too strong for my taste was the one with Greek olives on it. Jack imported his fire oven from Italy (correct me if I'm wrong). The artisan pizzas, sandwiches, soups, and specialty drinks are all great. Another caliber from what you'd expect from this small joint. Most items are between $9 and $12. Start with the fire-roasted tomato soup in a bread bowl (this is coming from someone who normally wouldn't order tomato soup). Then get the Cap'n Jack sandwich if you like horseradish or the Ole Bessie if not. Get the huckleberry or Lime Ricky sodas to go with. End with a Mella Bella dessert pizza (ask for huckleberries to be added). I'm giving four stars for one reason: the help. When Jack and his wife aren't there, the younger staff seems to mess up a bit (slightly burn your sandwich in the oven, mess up on the order, etc). However, they are quick to apologize, fast to correct, and credit the order. Tonight they torched the bottom of my wife's sandwich and gave me the wrong dressing for my salad. They quickly made a new sandwich, credited the ticket, and sent us out with take-home soup. read more

Jack's Wood Fired Oven is a true community gem in the town of Logan. This restaurant is a small town establishment that is irreplaceable, unique, meaningful and loving to our community. The restaurant atmosphere itself has a casual vibe to it but also an element of playful mystery with examples like thinking about what the children are reacting to in one of the hanging photographs to what the painted art symbolizes by local artist, Mateo Rueda to why is there a bike hanging from the ceiling. I love how this restaurant is accessible to all types of dining needs. I've seen children watching with inquisitive big eyes while kitchen workers hand tossed pizza dough in the air to an older couple enjoying a warm house-made soup (My favorite is the creme of jalapeno soup). I've seen young adults my age come in to drink some damn good beer and celebrate important moments. Here, you know the crew sincerely cares about their customers and making sure their delivery is not only high-quality food but service leaving you feeling well taken care of. There is also a plethora of live music options. Each Monday night one can hear delightful live jazz while on the weekends there is a live performer, usually somebody from the local community. I love that Jacks supports local artists! Also, they support local community efforts like their once a month CAPSA nights where they give some of their earnings to the organization. As a regular customer, I'm excited to see Jacks pizza continue to make way and a mark in our community. I'm excited to see what new innovative changes they can bring while keeping its original charm. I'm excited about the new house made gelato option they have for their customers. While I'm aware my review is going to be more positive and am aware that not every single night of them running is going to bring perfect service, what matters is that I recognize that they are passionate and caring about what they do. BEST PIZZA EVER! And best service, wait time, soup, salads - everything about this place is AMAZING. I live in SLC, my daughter in Logan. I dream of visits up there just so I can eat at Jack's! (Oh, and seeing my daughter is also a treat!). The Garden Pizza is my favorite. The Tuscan Potato Soup is so good. I tried their Clam Chowder and I almost licked my bowl clean. And, their soup was even better than Market Street Grill's (sorry, but wouldn't you think the Fish Market would have better soup?). I love how their ingredients are all fresh and local too. This place is down to earth. The napkins and paper plates are right at your table to eat with. The guys behind the counter making the pizzas are so friendly and personable. No matter what, whenever we leave they thank you for coming in. For one month, I ate their every week and never got bored of it. I am not one to eat cold leftover pizza, but this one - yep! One time it sat in the fridge for a full 2 days (I forgot to bring it to work with me) and YUMMY. Plus, the portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. I ate here on a snowy afternoon with my VSO (very significant other) when the restaurant was pretty empty. The atmosphere is fantastic with the old button-tufted booths, exposed brick, and checkered floors. It seems there are parts of each of the businesses that historically occupied this space still represented here. I loved that the restaurant has huge windows facing the street. It was all real cozy-like. And you know what? The pizza was even better. We had the pig & peach and man it was delicious. The sweet berries and chipotle peach sauce were amazing. When it comes to pizza I usually prefer traditional flavors but this one really knocked my socks off. We also got the Lyon bread, and enjoyed its simplicity when combined with the marinara. Needless to say there were no leftovers. I really want to come back here. The service was super friendly too. read more

In a town with limited options, Jack's delivered. Because of a high school dance, the place was packed with kids on their dates, but it didn't affect my wait time since I just sat at the bar. The wait on food was a little long because of the crowd, but my pizza was worth it. The Cordon Blue pie (ham, chicken, Alfredo sauce, caramelized onion and garlic), was every bit of buttery, sweet, savory goodness you'd expect. Really happy we stopped in here. The pizza is pretty good, but the great service and unique house-made items make it a cool spot worth checking out. Loved the huckleberry-poppyseed dressing and pickled jalapeños. I wanted to especially commend the excellent service by Benton who was not only friendly, helpful, and attentive, but also the mastermind behind the delicious house-made gelato flavors. The huckleberry lemon and vanilla stracciatella were a perfect way to end our meal on such a hot day. I ordered the Rocket salad. It was one of the best salads I've had in a long time. The raspberry dressing tasted homemade, there were generous portions of fresh raspberries and blueberries. Yum! The owner came by our table and recommended the Cozumel pizza. It has alfredo sauce, house cheese blend, shrimp, avocado, Peppadew pepper and Caribbean spice finished with cilantro and lime. The lime and the cilantro were amazing. I would never have thought to put lime on pizza. I was so impressed with Jack's for several reasons. The owner took the time to visit with us and make sure we enjoyed our meal. The atmosphere was very laid back and perfect for a casual conversation with coworkers. Really good pizza place in Logan, Utah. We had the Plain and Simple and the Calabria pizza. Both were excellent. Love the thin crust and with the wood oven you have a touch of smoke flavor.
