Found this business on Yelp! as I am new to the area and was in a tight spot when I had no brake lights on my truck. These guys worked and located my initial issue, but had to dig deeper for another issue. Was expecting an enormous bill due to the time they put in to the diagnosis and was shocked when I was given the total. I am very particular about who works on my car so much so that I've used one mechanic for over 90% of my repairs since 1989. Living in Rockwall which is 20 miles from my mechanic, makes it difficult at times to take our cars in. I've tried 4 different shops in the area and these guys have the same values as my main mechanic. Not only did they resolve my issue but found a potential issue that saved me several hundred dollars down the road. Since I have a third party warranty, the repair cost me almost nothing. The Yelp reviews I read are based on a service center comparison. Jackson Automotive is a true garage facility that takes a family mindset to your car and its care. Are they the cleanest shop? Nope Are they the fastest at returning calls? Nope Do they perform the fastest repairs! Greatfully Nope Do they treat you like a number? Nope Can they see into the future to fix issues that have not presented symtoms? Nope Will they fix your car right when allowed to? YES Are their mechanics really good? YES Do they work with and use current tech? YES Were the prices reasonable? YES "When allowed to " refers to people who want a partial repair to 'save money' which only increases the cost and issues down the road. Putting stitches in a broken arm is cheaper than setting the bone, but it will only cause problems down the road! read more

Jackson Automotive is excellent. Brought in a few cars of ours over the years but brought a Porsche suv for hitch and a/c work that no one wanted to touch expect Porsche dealer that would have been double the money just to take a look. They were very quick had the three things done I needed and was ready the next day wasn't expecting that. Parts are high for the car which is expected but labor rates are more than fair. Sense of honesty are present and Rockwall area people need to come here for their auto needs. Thanks James read more

My car was acting a little odd so I decided to be proactive and take it in to see if there was an issue. I've always heard Jackson Auto was too high priced but I've gone for years and always thought they did good honest work. That and they just put something else new in, so I wanted to make sure the problem didn't have anything to do with the previous repair. I called and explained. They said bring it in, they would take a look and call me to go over if there's issue. I dropped it off and again they affirmed they would call me in a little while to go over so i could decide what to have or not have done. At about 4-5pm ;closing on Friday; I got call saying they think tune up but that could be between 400 and 800$. That's a big range so I told them it matters. If it's over 500$ I'm likely not going to do it now. They said since closing they could look better Monday to get more accurate estimate. No weekends I didn't know but said ok, mainly because I couldn't get back by 5pm. I did insist they leave it outside in case I needed it over weekend. I did need it. My gf found out her dad died and blew a tire in middle of nowhere alone in a storm the next night. I thought I could help until I arrived at Jackson to find my car battery unhooked and the fuse box unhooked and missing. This left a bad taste, I later decided maybe I can't trust Jackson automotive and figured I should get another opinion. Called 1st thing Monday and they said $500 something. I couldn't do over $500 and told them that and that I went to get my car back. I arrived to them saying it was took apart and I'd have to pay $150 to get it out. Now thats low of them but I had no other option but to hand over a credit card. They definitely showed their true colors. They 100% knew they were telling me the issues to let me decide what to do, diagnostic of problems, and from start I said no go if repair over 500$. Holding my car hostage both over weekend and now for money. Never did they express this. You hear stories about crook automotive shops. This is the scum of automotive repairs in Rockwalls . I've frequented all of them and can 100% say Beware Buyers. Take your car elsewhere. It's not worth it, even if you think they are good now. Just compare anyone else out there. I got my tune up done originally that same Monday for about 300$ but when I told them this story they found a way to deduct 150$ more to erase the theft that Jackson automotive committed against me. Amazed I only paid 150$ and found there really are good mechanics and people out there, just not at Jackson automotive. PS Jackson auto: Hope that 150$ was worth it. I'll never return, and will tell this story to many many more. Horrible communication skills and lack any customer service. It's not how things go when all is good, it's how you resolve issues when difficult that will make the difference. These people posting positive reviews have just gone with the flow without an issue to challenge, and I used to be one of them. When issue arises, no matter who's fault, you can't just blatantly and all of a sudden no longer care about that customer. They won't return, more negative posts happen, no more exotic hunting trips, and ultimately Brian Jackson is interviewing at Horizon Auto. Shouldn't bite the hand that feeds you. The smart customers will see this and save themselves and a lot of money by NOT going to Jackson auto. Anyone else please be very careful. read more

First time there was with an out of town friends car. Quickly sent us on our way, only charged us $5. Was a loose nut. Have been back many times with my Volvo and Honda. Expert, honest and fairly priced service. Everyone is very friendly with excellent communication skills. You will have to work very hard to find a better auto repair service! read more

We have relied upon Mr. Jackson to service our family's many vehicles for at least ten years. Mr. Jackson's shop does good work and they stand behind what they do. I have never experienced the problem that the previous reviewer noted. In fact, the shop has been diligent about calling, especially when providing an estimate before they do any work that I did not expressly approve in advance. I should also note that the shop will suggest used or rebuilt parts, if you have a used car like we do. They do not try to sell the most expensive fix, just the one that makes sense. read more

We've used Jackson Automotive for 4-5 years for several different vehicles and have never been disappointed. They are not inexpensive, but have always repaired our vehicles correctly the first time, and have been trustworthy in every other way. Just had a repair done this week - communication from them was excellent, they completed the job in the time they said they would, there were no extra or unexpected repairs/charges, and we were able to take the vehicle out of town the very next day without any problems. Taking my vehicle to the dealership would be the same price and much better service. I have gone to Jackson Automotive several times and although everyone is nice, I wouldn't recommend them. I have other friends that I have found had bad experiences as well. The last repairs I had were on the A/C unit of my car. It quit blowing past the lowest setting through all vents, although the temp settings still worked. They replaced a part for this, which required more labor than they anticipated, so I was charged more than they had quoted me since they weren't sure how to install the new part. Once I paid and picked up my car, it was blowing differently and not as strong as it had before. Plus one of the vents was not blowing at all. I took it back about 2 weeks later (when I had time) and they charged me another $40 to hook up a computer and tell me that I was out of luck and that it was just "coincidence" that the vent quit blowing when they made their repairs. Initial issue: All vents quit blowing more than lowest setting. End Result: $80 more than quote for part/labor and 1 vent that still only blows on lowest setting. read more
