I had a broken AC hose which was a DIY project and I just needed to replace the hose, but needed somebody to empty the refrigerant before I could repair it. I happened to be driving by and stopped off. They were more than helpful. Both discharging and refilling the AC. It was totally quick and easy. She had everything handled w/ my fleet company before I could even stress about it. Calm, professional, and on it immediately. Enter- the Tech Eryn. I was driving down a road parallel to a Firestone location when an employee, driving a customer's…read morevehicle, pulled out of their parking lot and struck my wife's car. The employee admitted at the scene that he couldn't see past a truck parked on the side of the road but still pulled into traffic, causing the collision. The police report clearly states that the Firestone employee was at fault. However, after 20 days of no contact, Firestone finally reached out--only to deny responsibility. They claimed they found themselves not at fault, despite the police report. We've now been informed that Firestone is self-insured, meaning they can unilaterally deny fault without going through an independent insurance company. This leaves us either having to take legal action or use our own insurance to cover damage caused by their employee's negligence. Be aware: If you use Firestone's services--or even just travel near their locations--understand that if something goes wrong, they may not take accountability, even when the facts are clear. This has been an extremely frustrating and unfair experience.
