Earlier this week, I was driving home and heard an odd sound from my car and pulled over to see if I could see anything obvious. It was 15 minutes until closing, and a gentleman met me in the parking lot to offer assistance. He test drove the car and pinpointed the cause which was not concerning (new tires making some noise), and sent me on my way worry-free. I had a rebuilt done in June 2024 and my truck has recently felt like transmission problems again.

I have an F350. the upper oil pan got a small leak. I took it to a automotive mechanic after researching the usual methods that diesel mechanics use. Ford motor co. dealer was charging 18 hrs + new upper oil pan. I took it to McSwain. I was told what the cost was because they have done this many times previously. they got the job completed within the time frame I expected by my research. they will get my business now on. thanks to all the guys. read more

Had a check engine light on, took it to them to check it out, they came back say that the price was going to be 409 for a 50 dollar part and a 20 dollar part plus 30 minutes top to replace the parts. Also they told me that my brakes were bad and my rotors needed to be replaced. I took my car home, they didn't know I know how to work on cars, both brake pads are good and rotors are fine, not metal to metal like they told me. Which they were wanting me to pay 534 for parts and labor for the brakes. Then they also had the gall to tell me that I needed motor mounts and transmission mount for a 2015 car with less than 100000 miles, com on man, so no I will not be taking my vehicles there and I advise you if you do get a second opinion. read more

This is by the far most honest mechanic shop I have ever worked with. They are quick, reliable, and give you a truthful answer. I have had two experiences with other service shops in the area doing dealer warranty work. Each time, I had additional issues with my car within 2 days of the "fix", and the other shop wanted to charge me an arm and a leg for the additional work. Seemed fishy. Both times, I went to McSwain instead of giving the other shop a second chance. The first time, McSwain fixed it for much cheaper than the other shop quoted. The second time, McSwain told me that the dealer service guys were incorrect, and had installed some parts on my car incorrectly. McSwain fixed everything for me and charged just a small fee. I really can't explain in a short post how great these guys are! Its nice to have a mechanic that you can trust for an honest answer and a fair price! read more

Absolutely horrible experience. The lady at the counter was very rude and incompetent. I dropped my car off in the morning and specifically told her what the problem was (rattling noise from the engine). I also told her I need the car by evening and she agreed. I called them in the evening and she told me she can only give my car back tomorrow because supposedly I told her the noise is coming from the "front end", not the engine. She was lying to my face. She also tells me about a "check out" fee which she never mentioned when I dropped my car off. I will never visit this place again, They obviously can't be trusted. read more

These guys are great! They towed my truck from Allen to their shop in Rockwall after having it looked at by multiple people. I stripped the #5 cylinder threads in my Silverado, and my transmission was slipping pretty bad. They were able to get it fixed quickly and correctly.
