    Pork chop Salt and pepper

Love the tender pork chop with Hong Kong sauce. Can't beat the $7.95 lunch price. Service was efficient. You know it's authentic Chinese when most diners are Chinese. Love the price, the food and cozy atmosphere. Must go esp for weekday lunch.

I've been here quite a few times, and quality has always been decent (average or above) but 4 stars for not incredibly consistent. It's still my go-to Cantonese restaurant in Chinatown though! On this most recent visit, we ordered egg drop soup, yu xiang eggplant, and ma po tofu. All the dishes were pretty good, and it was my first time ordering soup here and it was perfect for a cool night! It was pretty quiet on a weeknight, and the servers were especially attentive, friendly, and even cracking jokes with customers. It felt like the fun, late-night shift where you get to let down your hair a bit to chat with regulars. It was a fun evening, and I walked out happily stuffed!

The food here was amazing wow very fresh very tasty, I had the dugenes crab, shrimp fried rice and shrimp with broccoli. The rice was addicting sooo delicious scrumptious. The Dungeness crab was amazing so good. I got a deep fried. It taste really good so fresh it was over 2 pounds and they get it from the fish tank. Amazing. Fabulous the shrimp broccoli the shrimps were jumbo shrimp and it was so fresh as well highly recommend this spot amazing. The portions are large two people can eat out of one order of the fried rice, the service was great very friendly, the ambiance is a pretty good, layback lol everyone is focused on eating lol highly recommend this place :)

The dishes we ordered came out on the same size plate as the dish that they give you to eat on. Apologies for the eaten food in picture!

I've been coming here for years and even before when the location was originally Big Fish. It was a reliable spot that you could get good food at a fair price even in to the later hours. It was not too busy on a Friday night with about 6 other groups dining. The restaurant is well lit with comfortably spaced out tables and very nice staff. We ordered satay beef, peking ribs, stir fried pea shoots with garlic, and surf clams. We were so shocked at how small the portions were for dinner compared to just about any other Chinese restaurant we've ever been to. Between my parents and I, we were easily able to finish these dishes. I've never in my life left a Chinese restaurant without feeling full and having leftovers for taking home especially when you order one or more full entrées (not rice plates) per person. We used to have family dinners here and were always content with the food quality/quantity and the service. Don't get me wrong, the flavors were still good, but my parents don't even eat a lot and we were all still hungry afterwards. We have not been here for a while and we've never had this experience in the past so we were very surprised. This is also factoring in the fact that you are paying very similar prices for half the portion as compared to other restaurants in the area like Jumbo, Dynasty, or Peach Farm. Come for their lunch specials or late night cravings when nothing else is open, but if they keep up with the portions like this for dinner then I can't recommend when there are other great options in the area for family dinners.

My go to spot traditional Chinese food spot in Chinatown. Their seafood is very fresh directly from their fish tanks. They serve the absolute largest oysters I've seen. I always get their beef chow fun and fried pork intestines. The service is always great and they're open til 3am making it a great late night option. Their sago and red bean soup is a great dessert.

When landing in Boston we had some real craving for Chinese seafood and went to Jade garden in China town. The service was super fast and efficient. We ordered two lobsters with ginger & scallions and heavy Cantonese style sauce. This is a wok recipe that cooks under heavy flames so difficult to replicate at home. But one of the finest way to eat lobsters. We selected a fresh fish directly from the tank. It was cooked Cantonese-style steamed with fresh ginger, green onions, and a delicious soy sauce. I have to say the food was amazingly good!

Stop by here for dinner with friends after work. Got here around 6:30pm and was promptly seated. It did get busy closer to 7:30pm so good idea to arrive before then. Restaurant is pretty spacious and brightly lit. The server was very friendly and very informative on the menu. We ordered a rice plate, a noodle plate, chicken soup and various entries. Everything was so delicious, especially the sticky rice with lobster. It was so flavorful and the lobster was fresh and sweet. Definitely drop by Jade Garden if you are craving delicious cantonese food.

KUDOS to the staff for providing supreme quality customer service! We ordered the lobster, shrimp, noodles , and dessert fried milk. The ambiance was quiet.

Quick cheap lunch to go in Chinatown. They have two pages of options for $7.95 lunch specials on weekdays. I got the beef chow fun to go and it was a nice portion. Taste best fresh. Service is fairly quick.

The place was busy but the food came out quick! Kung pao chicken was the perfect amount of spicy, house fried rice was seasoned well and a good amount of vegetables and meat, sweet and sour pork was cooked crispy and the sauce was good, the beef noodle dish we had could have used more beef but it was cooked well. The service was friendly. Only beer, Sake and wine.

The fried noodles options on the lunch menu ($7.95) is worth getting. Perfect amount of fried noodles and plenty of protein of your choice. I tried the seafood with vegetables. Mixed seafood with Chinese broccoli. 9/10! TIP- ask for hot chili oil. It pairs so well with the fried noodles.

Salt and pepper pork, seafood hotpot, beef chow mein, king do spare rib, beef and broccoli

With Chinatown becoming more modernized and new fusion restaurants opening up, it's always nice to have a reliable old-school Chinatown place in your back pocket, and Jade Garden is it for my family. We've been coming here for over a decade, and there's a reason why we keep on coming back. While the prices have increased with the rest of Chinatown, the quality is still great and the portion sizes don't seem to have suffered based on our most recent outing. We ordered the salt and pepper pork, seafood hotpot, beef chow mein, king do spare rib, and beef and broccoli. Salt and pepper pork - crispy, salty, and juicy. Some places make this dish with really fatty or boney pieces of pork, but this latest order had the perfect meat to fat ratio and I really didn't find all that many bones in it. I love the jalapenos mixed in with the fried garlic, and this makes a perfect accompaniment to a bowl of white rice. Seafood hotpot - check out the photo here - this tupperware was packed full of goodies. This dish comes with tofu, squid, shrimp, and fishcakes, and there was no shortage of food here. The tofu beautifully soaks up the delicate white sauce and acts as a flavor bomb - when you bite into it, the tofu explodes with juice. Love this dish! Beef chow mein - growing up, this was my favorite Chinese dish and this version definitely met expectations. It was a bit strange for the takeout order to have the sauce already on the noodles as some places put them in separate containers, but the noodles were still nice and crispy when we got home, so there was no issue there. I love the mixture of crunchy fried noodles with slightly soggy ones that have soaked up the beef sauce, and the meat as usual was really nice and tender. King do spare rib - this is the counterpart to the salt and pepper pork, with a nice sweet and savory sauce over the same type of meat. Like the salt and pepper version, the meat to fat ratio was great and there were very little bones. Another great dish to have with rice! Beef and broccoli - we ordered this to have some extra topping with our fried noodles, and the container came packed full of food. There was a LOT of meat in this dish, which is just what we wanted. Like the chow mein topping, the beef was soft and tender, and the veggies were nice and crisp. All in all, the quality you get at Jade Garden is very high, and the amount of food is surprising. With a lot of restaurants cutting back on volume and hiking up prices, Jade Garden still gives you a good amount of food for the price. 4/5 - we've been coming here for ages and will continue to come back!

Stuff clams with vermicelli. No sauce, taste nothing. The serve said it will have xi dau on it but there's none.

Shanghai Classic Pork Pan-Fried Buns上海生煎饅頭: I was instantly hooked! It's hard to imagine finding such good pan-fried buns in the US. Almost every table ordered them, so they were all freshly made, piping hot. The bun was made with unleavened dough, making it chewy and refreshing, with a light, crispy bottom--not oily or hard. The meat filling was substantial and tender, with plenty of broth (see picture). It was sweeter than salty, incredibly umami. The chili oil was also very fragrant, and dipping it in Zhenjiang vinegar enhanced the flavor and cut through the greasiness. Shredded Pork & Preserved Vegetable Noodle Soup雪菜肉絲麵: The noodles were thin and round, with a soft, mushy texture. While the noodles were clearly machine-made, this isn't a problem in the Yangtze River Delta region; the issue was likely overcooking. The shredded pork were well-stirred, with tender meat, but the noodles lacked flavor. They had to be eaten with the pickled mustard greens雪菜 to be slightly salty, and the umami flavor was severely diluted. The tableware is all disposable, and tipping is not mandatory. It's quite affordable.

They come out piping hot and fresh, and can kind of be hazardous if you bite into them too quickly and cause the soup to spurt out. I don't think I've had better ones in the states! In fact, even in Shanghai, it's kind of hard to find good ones sometimes (at least ones that serve them all day and not just for breakfast). It's more of a takeout place as it's rather small, but the interior is clean and bright.

Our server was attentive and replenished our water for the table as soon as they were empty without our even asking. Food 5/5: every dish we ordered represented Sichuan flavors well, especially the spiciness of it! Our favorites were the eggplant with spicy garlic sauce, with the chengdu dry hot chicken and the string beans. The braised beef with Napa cabbage and mapo tofu were also delicious. Ambience 3/5: super loud. It wasn't even the music, it was that people's conversations were bouncing off the walls in a small space such that it was not possible to hear the other people in my group except who I was sitting next to. I saw several dates there and hopefully they could hear each other ok. Drinks: 2/5 overpriced and disappointing. My Negroni was ok but my husband's Manhattan tasted watery like it had been shaken instead of stirred and the melon highball tastes medicine-y. Lights in the dining room are much brighter, the inclusive flag is no longer in the front window, and the funky art in the bathrooms is gone. The management or something else is definitely different. The food was hit or miss. The sauce was overly thickened glop in both the chicken with garlic and the peppercorn beef special. Saving grace was our server who was apologetic and helpful.
