I always had good experiences with the many Jade Garden Locations that I have been to. The times I have been there it was never crowded and plenty of space. The staff was friendly and quick with getting your order. As with all the Jade Garden locations the food is standardized and ready to serve. All the dishes I have tried have been good. My favourites are the Beijing Beef and Orange Chicken which are real tasty. I have to give mention to their fried rice and lo-mein which are flavorful by themselves and better than other Chinese places I tried. read more

Jade Garden doesn't clean their shrimp. I've ordered the shrimp fried rice twice now and every single one of the shrimp is left with their waste tracts in. Yes, that black vein in the back? That's shrimp shit. And shrimp are bottom feeders. Delicious, right? Great, I just paid for a bunch of shrimp I can't eat. Even if I did try to eat them it makes the shrimp gritty and tastes horrible. Total appetite killer. So if they don't clean the shit out of their shrimp, what else aren't they cleaning? read more

Food was bland. My husbands chicken was mostly breading and soggy. I got spicy garlic and it wasn't spicy nor did it taste like garlic. My chicken was rubbery and there was very little of it! It was mostly 85% sauce and huge chunks of veggies....chunks twice the size of my fork. I like vegetables but it wasn't appetizing at all. The crab rangoon was okay, but very sweet and missing the crab it seemed. Overall it was just 'meh' and flavorless. This place used to be very good but the quality has really declined. read more

This is the worst "asian" food I have ever tried. Don't waste your money. Although Encore Cafe and Zen Zero do not deliver, believe me it is worth the trip downtown. Whatever you do do not order from this restaurant. Maruchan ramen is better than the noodles they serve and a packet of frozen veggies are far superior to the low quality produce they use. The food was okay to good. Not really exceptional just average to good Chinese food. The service was good thought. The employee was pleasant and accommodating. We found eggshells in our rice (we got two orders of fried rice) I thought hey, it's just one eggshell shit happens but nope we found a lot in both portions. Very disappointed!! Will never go back to this place. read more

The food here is awesome! There are two menus. The authentic menu is really good! Comparing to other Chinese restaurant, Jade has the REAL CHINESE FOOD! Where else can you get a whole plate of food for $4.25 (and no tip since you go to the counter to order)? I usually get the brochili chicken dish and order steamed rice with eggroll. It's not the best Chinese food in town but it's certainly the cheapest. read more

Pretty bad. No greeting at the door, and no indication that you order at the counter or seat yourself. No descriptions for any menu items. Curry chicken was watery, flavorless, and consisted mainly of chopped onions. Spicy beef was sweet and soppy. No hint of heat even though both were supposed to be spicy. White rice was disgusting, maybe instant or previously frozen. No service whatsoever, no reason to tip. Not coming back, ever. read more

Ordered egg drop soup -a quart to go, yesterday, based on past experience with the restaurant (15 years) but it was completely tasteless, watered down, the egg bits had no flavor. Even my 16 year old couldn't eat it - had to feed it to the garbage disposal. Can only guess that they had watered it down after many hours on the stove, just awful. Also ordered Pad Thai which was fine. Overall this place is not as good as Thai-Siam. If you can stand the rush hour waits and the attitude there, Thai Siam is hands down the best Chinese/Thai restaurant in Lawrence. Jade Garden's food quality has steadily diminished over the last 15 years, but generous serving sizes make for cheap eats. read more

Terrible! We've been looking for some place to deliver after Lucy decided to close Panda Plum Garden, DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE WE DID. We got mu shu pork and general tsos chicken, our two favorite dishes and neither worth eating at this place. I don't even know how to properly critique the sauce on the general tsos except to say that it was f-ing awful! The mu shu pork was edible; the extra sauce they charged me for (Lucy never did) helped mask the sub par meal. After eating I felt so bloated from the 50 lbs of salt ingested that I seriously thought about purging! Yuk!!!!! Why doesn't Encore deliver?!?!? read more

Delivery time was reasonable and the sushi was decent. The curry beef and spicy basic chicken were bland and awful, could not finish them.

This is, bar none, the absolute worst chinese food I have ever eaten. The eggrolls were like the sams club eggrolls my mom used to get as a kid. Nothing crispy about em. I ordered garlic shrimp, extra shrimp. There was hardly any shrimp in it. The water, i mean sauce, splashed out of the delivery box when i opened it. It had absolutely no flavor. No garlic to be seen or taste. There wasn't even any salt on it. Ive eaten chinese food in about half of the states of our great nation, and Im confident in saying that this is the worst ever!!! Placed my order consisting of 4 crab rangoons, dumplings and an order of lo mein at 12:00 am Saturday AM and was given a 45 -60 min delivery estimate. They didn't show up until 1:50, I understand that it's an estimate and things happen however that being said I live less than a mile away and 2 hours seems a bit much. After it finally arrived my food was awful, dumplings were rubbery and everything was oddly burnt but cold. I called to let the manager know and she was beyond rude. I was polite and understanding (I've worked food service, golden rule: even if everything is wrong you remain polite), she informed me the only way she'd remake it was if I came in to show her, when I asked her if I could just get a refund I was told "How is everything wrong? We will see once I look at it if you need a refund". Surreal! Overall not a good experience I won't be ordering from here again and won't be recommending Jade Garden to anyone else!! read more

I placed an order over the phone as the online service both charges a fee and lacks an accurate description. While phoning in the order, the gentleman with whom I spoke failed to accurately take the order for the one menu item I was ordering several times. After we overcame the language barrier and his being VERY distracted, I finally got the order placed and my husband picked it up. He returned home and the order was entirely different than what I ordered! I called and the order taker passed me off to a very rude manager with limited English. She refused to give me the food I ordered in exchange for the wrong order and blamed me for ordering the wrong food. The food I did receive looked gross. It had leaked all over the plastic sack in which they had tied it and it looked disgusting with limp, colorless prepackaged vegetables. I will never order "food" from this disgusting place again. Rude people, poor customer service, and nasty food. Thumbs way down! read more
