Friday Jan 19, 2015 1:15pm I will write more later as I am going to ER. But let this be noted, that this place is DEADLY and TOXIC. Nevermind that the lashes were okay, for HEALTH HAZARD reasons, I would NOT recommend this place to anyone that values their health! So let's start from the beginning, as this is a HONEST report, because I only write honest, unexaggerated reviews... As I lay on the table to get my lashes done, it was about 10 minutes into it, that suddenly the girl asked the other girl for the "owner's glue" (that was mistake number one). From there she turned the small fan on, which 3 minutes later my nose and throat were instantly burning and my eyes were watering. I asked her to move then fan to not blow directly on me, and she CONTINUED to let it sit there and blow DIRECTLY on me, blowing toxic fumes down my nose, throat and sinuses for TWO hours. Eventually, I had to ask for a blanket to cover my nose from the fumes. Did the girl ever say anything or realize that I was uncomfortable? NO, not at all. I was squirming and having a hard time breathing, and all she said was "We're almost done", so I trusted her and continued suffocating. When we were finally done, tears started rolling down my eyes, my throat and nose were both on fire, like never before! I am pretty sure, as I was paying she knew she had F'd up, because she didn't say anything at all, and rushed me out the door. Sadly, my eyes were watering so badly, and my throat was in such pain, I had to sit for 20 minutes in my car blasting cold FRESH air in eyes and throat. When looking into my throat in the mirror it was COMPLETELY RED and RAW!!! When I could eventually somewhat see well enough to drive, I rushed home and drank a bunch of milk to attempt to coat my throat, but it was too late. That was only to be the beginning of my hell... I have been bedridden for 3 days so far. The dangerously high temperatures (over 103), feeling spacey, disoriented and sleepy left me unable to get to the ER, until yesterday, when the diagnosis came in that i had LARYNGITIS caused by the toxic fumes! I am a MODEL and a SINGER, and now I can barely SPEAK! I am in tears as I write this, because I do not know to what extent the damage has been done by this unprofessional place, and if will ever be able to sing and perform again, and I had gigs lined up. This is truly devastating! I have had eyelash extensions 6 other times before, NEVER a problem EVER! One, they care, and two they use quality odorless glue! (write me, I will tell you were to go, and this woman I normally go to, her lashes last 6-8 weeks!). There is a lot more, however my attorney has told me to rest and put in it his report, so that is just what I will do. Update: JANUARY 21 Not only is this business owner falsifying claims to protect herself, she has the audacity to call me a liar. By saying I "refused the fans" which is a blatant lie!!! Your technician KEPT it on! In fact all she did was turn it slightly, as it continued to blow in my face! You're not a doctor, so please don't try to be one! LARYNGITIS is caused by IRRITATION and INFLAMMATION of the throat. NOT the flu as you would like to claim. I'm NOT ALLERGIC to anything. So please don't try once again to buffer your business to try and make yourself look good by falsely accusing me of being allergic to your glue. This has NOTHING to do with allergies! SHAME ON YOU And no offer for a refund, despite me even including a $10 tip! Your solution is come back in and take them off for me. Like I would ever set foot near there again!!! All the owner cares about is making sure she looks good and not take responsibility for the problem and there serious damages that have ensued. read more

Jade Lash's Groupon deal is what caught my attention. Since its such a long process for eye lash extensions, you wouldn't want to waste money on a new place. I loved how they had a deal for full set of eyelashes 79$ and then 2 free fills. That's almost $26 per session which is really great if its your first time there. The atmosphere is cute and spacious. I've read reviews about how the building is old and they don't like the area... I live so close to this place, I don't understand what weird vibe people are getting from being outside the building. Its right across from the police station haha how much safer can you get? Anyways, the gal who did my extensions was Quendie. She is very sweet and knows how to carry on conversations haha. I think we talked the entire process, so it didn't feel like 2 hours. I probably would have fell asleep because it felt comfortable lying down, but I guess i felt like being a chatterbox. Lately I've been feeling a burning sensation on my right eye, and its from the glue in the process of drying. I think my right eye is more sensitive because I never feel the burn on my left eye. Quendie was very productive and every time I told her it was bothering me she would place the mini fan by that eye to speed up the drying process. I love love love my lashes. They are full, long, and dark. Quendie did a wonderful job that it made me post a pic of her work. (Check out my results! Its in black and white , just of my eyes). Jade lash is VERY worth the try. Honestly my initial impression was that this little shopping center was not where I would normally go for eyelashes... it felt cramped and definitely not very chic. BUT I have never been treated so gently by an eyelash artist or had more wonderful results! My groupon for a full set of mink eyelashes and a fill was a total blessing in disguise. I definitely have found my new go to lash place! My mink set is so light weight that I forget that I am wearing them. Previously with extension I've always felt like my eyes were itchy or hurting and I wanted to pull the little suckers out. Now I know how it's supposed to feel! I don't even know they are there until I get a complement or look in the mirror. Seriously Alliena/Athiena (not quite sure what her name was, but I want her again!) was so gentle that I fell asleep while getting the lashes put on. Tip her well because she is a true gem! Saw their $55 groupon deal and my fellow yelper pal had a pleasant experience at Jade Lash so I decided to try it for myself. I called to schedule an appointment and they told me that they would prefer me going to them directly instead of going through groupon and would still honor the deal so I cancelled my groupon order and dealt with the directly. Upon paying, they said they charged a small fee for a credit card transaction. I wish they would have stated that to me over the phone as every penny of my hard-earned money counts and if that were the case I would have not jumped through so many hoops and gone through groupon instead. Anyways, I got the mink blend extensions and felt my experience there was just okay. The person who did my lashes was very nice and friendly but my eyelashes weren't as full as I wanted them to look. You really do get what you pay for. I've paid tripled the price elsewhere but they lasted for about three months! The ones I got here barely lasted two weeks. Upon finishing my extensions, I noticed right away that one had already pointed downward but she said it couldn't be fixed. I think it would help if they had better tools and allow for a longer time to put the lashes on more carefully. I also saw some loose hair on the bed which made me feel that they don't change sheets for every customer. I had a difficult time finding where this place was located and it didn't at all help that there was no big sign to be seen. Also, when calling to schedule an appointment, they didn't even have their schedule at the time of my call and they had to call me back to give me their availability. I thought that was kind of strange. Also of note is that they only offer their deal once in your lifetime. Maybe they might skimp less since you're paying for more...but I am not going to take that pricey chance to find out. read more

Great service - Athena did my lashes she made recommendations that were right for me . I have never had faux lashes before. It took about 2 hours. I used a groupon. This is a no frills location but don't let that deter you from it. Athena does amazing work. Tips - it is in the corner if Del mar and Mission. It is a brick building with no signage you just see the blue doors with small address numbers to the upper right . Open the door go up the stairs - again no signs . I just recently decided to get eyelash extensions and I absolutely love them. Honestly I've seen other eyelash extensions and they're not nearly as amazing as Jade lash. Wei-Lin does an amazing job and is so precise and careful when applying the lashes. If cleaned properly they last very long. i absolutely adore this place! I live in downtown LA and to drive here takes a half hour but I dont mind because my lashes look FAB after Wei-Lin is finished with them. So far, I've been coming here for the past 3 months and I'm loving it. The store is located in a plaza with ample parking and it is a little harder to find as there are no clear signs directing you where to go. But once you find it, you wont forget it. It is located upstairs next to bail bonds on the right hand side. Once you walk in, there is your lash professional waiting to beautify you! I've had eyelash extensions done for many many years and really what it boils down to is quality, convenience and price. Hands down, the quality of the lash and their applying skills need to be good or else the business is a no-go. The convenience of having to not worry about meters, or validating parking is a HUGE HUGE plus for me because its a big hassle with a capital H. Some stores dont even have parking so you gotta pay in a nearby parking lot to walk to the store. The price will always be a huge deciding factor for me whether I come back or not. $80 for a refill is definitely competitive to other places I've been and add those 2 other factors in there and voila! Wei-lin has never disappointed me in the type of eyelashes I love, and she nails it everytime. A small disclaimer that I am not a beauty/makeup guru so I have not have experience with getting eyelash extensions. This was my first time, and it will probably be my only time unless prices are lowered to around $20 each visit (I know, yea right). As for the rest, I am definitely not super impressed. First of all the location was strange. It's located in a corner inside what looks like empty office spaces. The place does not have a sign. If it weren't for my GPS who told me I am at my destination I would not have known. I had to look for "Suite K" and at the door there was a teeny tiny business card that said Jade Lash. I hope they are working on getting a big sign at least. The inside was kind of cute. It's just one big room with maybe 3 beds? I think I remembered it being decorated pistachio green loaded with IKEA stuff. Now on to my lashes. I might have chosen the wrong kind for myself. It was kind of uneven and pretty flimsy. It looked good at first, but then I realized that it didn't, if you know what I mean. I can see why it is pricey to get these extensions with the technicians being meticulous and diligent with their work. It definitely sounds like work that should be well paid for, but seriously, $250 for a full set of extension? Good grief. Good thing I got the $50 deal from Groupon. I would NEVER pay $250. (Unless I was loaded of course) It is $80 for touch ups and if you want to change it up you will have to pay more I assume. I've tried it once and I did my duty as a girl so my work is done here. This kind of thing is only worth it for YOUR wedding, not a birthday party, not a girls trip to Vegas--YOUR WEDDING, otherwise, it is way too pricey. But if you seriously spend this much money each time for eyelashes, then I think you need to rethink your priorities. read more

I just came back from a wonderful eyelash fullset with Wei Lynn. I have gotten eyelash extension before and almost every time I tear up because they would hurt me by pulling the lash or whatever. My eyelash ends up not staying on very long because I get very teary during the process. Wei Lynn on the other hand didn't hurt me at all! She was so gentle and fast. She had music playing and it was very relaxing as well. My eyelash turn out great. You can truely tell the professionalism in her by the way she handle the process. A coworker raved about mink eyelashes and suggested this place to me. She forwarded their groupon so I was ecstatic. Bought the groupon, booked my appointment for Saturday and I was ready to go. I had a family emergency and was in the hospital from Saturday to Wednesday. Finally was able to check my messages and emails and it turns out Jade Lash charged me a cancellation fee. I email them back immediately to apologize for the family emergency, asked if they would refund the cancellation fee, and asked for their next availability so I could get my lashes done. 8 days laters and still no response. That professionalism eh? I hope groupon will accept my refund request. The lack of professionalism is disgusting here. It's amazing how I had so many emails and texts about my cancelled appointment yet when I am able to respond back - nothing. Shame on you guys. read more

It's true what the other reviewers had mentioned that their lashes don't last. I've had my lashes done before by a real nice spa in SF so I know the difference. Those lasted me 2-3 months. I had purchased a Groupon deal for 1 full set and a refill. Both times the end of the lashes hurt my eyes every time I open or blinked. And both times, it would start falling off on day one. By the end of that first week, all the lashes they've glued on had fallen out. read more

I have done eyelash extensions a good amount of times & i love trying new places with special promotions to get good deals. Found this place through Groupon and yelp. Made an appointment a week in advance. It was not very easy to find the actual location (it's located on the 2nd floor of an old, low maintenance building. The worst part was the restroom which was located on the 1st floor, was dark, very smelly and not clean :( ) Service: I told the lady I wanted long but not too crazy mink eyelashes. The lady said she absolutely understood what I wanted, however, I wasn't very satisfied with the end result. 1) They did not put enough mink lashes, it's really easy to see the gaps between my real eyelashes and the extended ones 2) Too short ( I asked for pictures but the lady said she understood what i wanted and I trusted her, however in the end, I was left disappointed) 3) It hasn't even been a week yet, and I've already lost a large amount of the extended lashes! I understand we lose our natural eyelashes everyday, but due to my past eyelash extension experiences, i can tell she did not do a good job. Overall, it's ok if you are looking for a cheap first time special deal for eyelash extensions, but if you are willing to spend a little bit more money (20 to 40 bucks more on Groupon or other first time special deals), you can find better quality eyelash extensions somewhere else. read more

First off, I got the groupon deal and bought the one that you can get a full set PLUS a 2 week check up (adding more lashes) When I went in -- it looked AWESOME! They were all super nice -- loved the soothing music (in fact I almost fell asleep!) They are very GENTLE. When I left, I was very careful to not ruin them -- they were BEAUTIFUL! I kept them looking amazing for a long time. But unfortunately I just had to go back 2 weeks (Exactly!) later. When I went back -- I wanted to wait until closer to christmas so that they would be good looking by the time we go on our trip. Now, Im not sure if it is because she was rushing? or not... but from the very first night - my lashes started falling out like crazy! And very fast -- the first time, I never saw any of them falling off. Ive still been careful in the shower and just in every day activities. :/ Its very sad that they couldnt stay longer (its only been a few weeks) and in all my research in going into this, people say they can last up to 2 months! I would NEVER go and get my lashes done for the $200/$300 that are usually charged... so Im going to get another groupon deal if I decide to do it again. Jade Lash is the first place I have been to for lash extensions so unfortunately I do not have any other place to compare to but based on others lash extensions that I continually see I can confidently say they are the best. I have tried at least 6 different eye lash extension places and so far I like this one the best. I'm a licensed Esthetician and I don't plan on providing this service as part of my business but I wanted to try out different places to be able to recommend to my clients where to go. The reason why I like this place is: 1) the lashes don't hurt and are not painful when they push against your eyelids (this can occur when people use a certain type of primer and sealer), 2) the concept of one eyelash extension to one lash vs layering it which can cause too much weight on your own lashes there by pulling your own lash out quicker, 3) the glue that is used is different plus the way it's applied, 4) so far the lashes don't fall out as quickly as other lash places that I've gone to, 5) they look natural 6) good hygiene and lastly 6) the owner was very nice. I found this place via Groupon but they honored the Groupon prices if you pay them directly vs paying Groupon which I highly recommend. I will definitely be recommending this place to my clients. read more

I've been getting my lashes done with Wei Lin since May and they've served me well all summer! The atmosphere is calming and tranquil. The building can be a bit tough to find, but I know they just recently relocated there and signage is probably coming soon. Their whole staff is extremely professional, welcoming, and thorough. My lashes look fantastic and Wei Lin did a great job of achieving the look I asked for. I don't like them to be SUPER long, but very full, and that's exactly what I ended up with! Wei Lin has been doing my lashes for over a year now and she is amazing!!! I first met Wei Lin when she was working for a Salon called Winx Beautique. Winx Beautique is a very disorganized salon but I loved Wei Lin so much I continued to go there until Wei Lin decided to venture on her own with her new salon called JADE LASH!!! Used my Groupon for lash extensions. Booking was a bit confusing left several messages on the buisness voicemail. I was also instructed to send a text message, so I did. Then later that day I received a text letting me know that they were booked thru next month. I then went thru Yelp and there was a book online option, I was able to get in with in 3 days, hmmm, was my groupon an issue? .... I went in for my appointment with Aethena, she was informative and answered all my questions.... I' ve never had mink lash extensions so was excited. There were only to beds and 2 employees. There were several interruptions due to people walking in for appointments and phone calls... No wonder the phone doesn't get answered and why they prefer text messages... It was a bit annoying to be left with your eyes closed and drying glue on your eyes... In the end about an hour later, my eyes opened and my lashes looked amazing... Lots of don't do this and that blah blah instructions. My lashes lasted about a week and a half... Not bad. Best of all I still had natural lashes, although a bit shorter then before but it's ok...they have now grown back about a month later. I would go there again, not sure I would pay their regular price. If you have a Goupon for this service it is worth it, if you don't plan on keeping them don't buy the 100 dollar package... I didn't go back to get them filled, Aethena did offer to remove them instead at no extra charge. read more

Quendie also did my first ever eyelash set as well as the refill. She is really friendly and fun to talk to which is a plus since you are laying there for up to 2 hours. The process is painless and cozy and the results are pretty awesome. The only problem is that the groupon deal is a bit confusing and I wish I put more effort researching things before making a purchase. For example, you have to use your refill exactly two weeks after you had your initial set done which I didn't like because my lashes were still good two weeks into the process. Also, I bought the more expensive groupon for mink lashes but ended up getting the mink blend which is $20 less because apparently the 100% mink ones are very natural looking and you can't really tell that you have them on. Overall, I like the results and the service and will use them again if I have a special occasion (because these puppies are expensive if you are getting them on a regular without a groupon). read more
