The drinks were really good, Restaraunt was really clean . Food was really flavorful and no crowd when we went around 6, small bite eats will definitely come again . The dumplings were really good , my favorite was the Rangoon !

Brunch in Portland, Oregon... After I read reviews about Portland's Chinatown, I searched for a dimsum place outside of Chinatown and found Jade Rabbit I liked the name of the place and saw that they had two kinds of rabbit-shaped dimsum! Another cool thing is that their menu is vegan... that means that I don't have to worry about dairy products that give me pain. We found free street parking about a half a block away and waited for Jade Rabbit to open at 11am. We didn't have reservations, but we're seated immediately. The decor was great! I enjoyed looking at all of the Rabbit figurines! The furniture was colorful and the convenient restroom had interesting decorations, too! The service was okay. Some items were not available and our server recited the list that included chow funn. Shucks! She came back later and said that the chow funn was, in fact, available... yay! Our server seemed a bit nervous as her hand shook and placed the special menu upside-down... LOL! We won't bite you! She recommended the Ube Jam drink - it was made with coconut cream... yes! The chow funn was a bit bland. We added some soy sauce. The Puto Pao Bunny Bao had an unusual flavor - maybe the brown sugar can be omitted because the black garlic and vegan pork might be fine without it? The Jade Rabbit Dumplings also could be more savory. Something was off... and the filling was a bit sparse. Anyway, maybe we could have ordered better, but we got what we wanted! Thank you for the cute food! Note: 22 percent is added to the bill - so no need to tip.

[ Service ]: 9/10 - as someone who eats meat regularly, this place was a pleasant surprise. My Partner and I decided to drop by on a whim and there happened to be a seat for us with no reservation! The waitress was very friendly and helpful, letting us know that there is a "built in tip" (22% gratuity, the tip is NOT built into the prices btw) and it goes towards affordable wages for the staff! Everything is vegan and I appreciated that they had gluten free dumpling option!!! [ Food ]: 7/10 overall - siu mai: 8/10 was really impressed with the taste and texture of the dumplings. It did feel more like a wonton texture but I feel like the mushrooms bring out a lot of umami in depth of flavor - Jade Rabbit Dumplings: 8.5/10 I appreciate the creativity it took to make mochi bunny buns to make them gluten free. They fell apart kind of easily but super cute and yummy! - Lo Mai Gai: 6/10 solid - mapo tofu: 6/10 I love szechuan peppers but this might have been the spiciest bowl of mapo tofu I've had in my life, which took away from the other elements of the dish. Loved the flavor but definitely packed a punch - Sisig: 9/10 This was both me and my partners' favorite dish, the texture of the tofu was kinda crispy and kinda not, the flavors and the sauce were outstanding! The rice complimented the tofu well too! [ Ambiance ]: - Super cute and cozy, looks like there might be outside seating in the warmer months but the decor and lighting give this restaurant a very warm vibe

This place serves all vegan food and it was great. I'm not a vegan but my friend is vegetarian and she was so happy to find a place where she could eat anything off the menu. We ordered a bunch of different items to share and everything was really good. You can tell they use fresh ingredients. I wasn't sure if I'd like the fake chicken pieces that come in the soup but I was pleasantly surprised. The taste and texture were good. They seated us in the cute back area with lots of windows and natural light. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Something I really appreciated was that there were complimentary tampons and pads in the bathroom. Wish more places did that!

I'm married to a Chinese American, so we eat a lot of dim sum, but I'm usually pretty limited in what I can enjoy. It was such a wonderful surprise to find a place where I can eat anything on the menu! We ordered several dishes, and the standouts were the chili wontons, char siu bao, and siu mai -- all absolutely delicious. The only item that fell a bit short was the special chow fun, which my husband and I both found a little bland. The staff was kind, and the ambiance was casual and fun. Overall, a great experience, and we'll definitely be back!

I went to this restaurant as part of a FinCon dinner club. It's all vegan and I was able to Rey a few things. First, the crab Rangoon was delicious and super cute. Second, the mapo tofu was delicious and very spicy. The flavor was on point! I forgot the name of the kimchi dish but it was okay. It was much better with the sauce. Our server was so warm and welcoming! He showed me how to brew the oolong tea and I was so grateful. I also love that this restaurant is employee owned--fun fact: they add 22% to Your bill so no need to add gratuity. I would definitely come back!

I had the most intentional time dining here by myself. To start off I was warmly welcomed and informed about the added gratuity for all staff to earn the same tip. Love that for this restaurant. Next, The tea service was a dream. They took the time to show me how to pour the tea. The way it was presented was such a special process to really enjoy the taste of the tea. So many yummy things on the menu but I wanted to get the signature rabbit shaped dish. It was delicious! Whether you're dining by yourself, with a friend, or with family this restaurant is such a delight to dine in. I was happy to slow down and simply enjoy my time in this beautiful restaurant.

A reservation is required!!! I was surprised that my friend and I were even allowed to eat here. We didn't have a reservation nor did we know we needed one. When we walked in for dinner, we were immediately questioned about reservations and when told no that they don't have any open tables. I felt a bit disappointed, but luckily the bartender offered us sit at the bar. The bar was opened. The restaurant was partly empty. The restaurant gradually filled with more guests as time went on. I noticed a party of two turned away because they didn't make a reservation and the bar was full by the time they arrived. The bartenders immediately took our orders. We got the mocktails, jade rabbit dumpling, one appetizer, and veg pork dumplings. The mocktails were brought out quickly. They were refreshing and tasty. The appetizer was okay, but bland and paired with sweet oily based sauce. With the sauce, it tasted better. Jade Rabbit was colored green and was tiny compared to the veg pork one. It was flavorless, but the veg pork dumplings was savory, sweet, and the breading was soft. It tasted 360 degrees better than the actual jade rabbit. Go figure. I had high hopes for this restaurant, but a tad letdown to mediocre food. Jade Rabbit was on my "to try" radar for years. Maybe a bad night, but I don't know. I'll try them in the future to see about consistency.

I rarely eat vegan, but every dish we ordered was delicious!! The service was spot on with timely dishes and friendly-individual service! The ambiance is open, tasteful-fusion, and all inclusive for all walks of life! Will definitely return next I'm in Portland!

Very cool decor and atmosphere here -- it's lovely to sit out on the patio. Service was very friendly and attentive. Their cocktail game is STRONG. I don't think you can really go wrong with any choice to be honest. I love their selection of N/A options. We had: - jade bunny dumplings - Gai lan (get this!) - kimchi mung bean cakes - very good! - siu mai (tastes like seafood) - lo mai gai (these were delicious and the mushrooms slapped) - rangoons - these were nicely fried but didn't have any sort of crab flavor I typically like Would love to return here again with some vegan friends of ours, they would be so pleased. Awesome option among the many vegan places here in town.

Excellent food. Very professional service. Dishes have distinctive flavors. Hence there is lot to try and savor. Moderate prices. Decent food portions. There is something for everyone We focused on other dishes and just tried only one kind of dimsum. Looks like we need to come again to try more

I had been wanting to try this restaurant for months and decided to finally go for my birthday, but the food, and especially the service, did not live up to the hype. In fact, it was some of the worst service I'd ever experienced. We had a reservation and were seated quickly, but that's where the good service ended. After maybe 10 minutes someone came and asked if we'd been helped. We placed our drink orders and she brought us a tiny pitcher of water that didn't even fill half the glasses for our party of 5. When our drinks came out, we placed our food orders and asked for more water, but I think she forgot. Our food took a very long time, but that was understandable for how much food we ordered. They did also mention they bring it all out at once, but that left some dishes hot and others semi-cold. We were able to remind her about the water, which she brought. The ragoon was very good and had a ton of filling. The adobo was just okay. I barely took a few bites, but I've had better vegan chicken at home. My friend didn't finish his congee, saying it didn't have enough toppings leaving it a bit bland. As we began eating we realized we were missing one of the dishes we ordered, but we couldn't even ask about it because our server was MIA. She never came to check on how everything was or refill our water that was empty again. We literally didn't see her again until we finished our entire meal! My friend ordered the congee, which typically comes with a soup spoon, but they only gave us chopsticks. He literally dug a plastic spoon out of his bag and used it because he had nothing to eat his soup with and no one to ask. That's pretty embarrassing for a place this pricey.. When she finally came back we had been done eating for probably 10-15 minutes. We ordered dessert (and more water..). The water was quick, but the desserts took another 20 minutes or so. The Pandan kiwi Spongecake was flavorful, but so dry! Spongecake should be light and fluffy, but this felt like it was pre assembled and improperly stored. The Ube crème brûlée was amazing, but lacked any sort of presentation. Once we finally got our bill (you guessed it), we couldn't even find our server to give her our card. After another 10 minutes or so, we spotted her at the bar scrolling on her phone. My husband went up to her with his card and asked if we could pay. Keep in mind, this place charges an automatic 22% tip - there is no incentive to provide good service and it shows. Dinner ended up taking nearly 3 hours, a majority of which was just sitting with empty water glasses and plates. Overall, I would not recommend this place, as the food and service does not match the price tag.

The food was pretty good. I'm not vegan but have friends that are and we eat out at different vegan restaurants. The restaurant/space itself is a vibe. It's cute. All the staff were great. We sat outside. The inside it quaint, there are two different sections for seating on the inside. When we arrived at 3:30 there was only one couple dining in, and us, out. About an hour later a decent amount of folks started showing up. Their drinks are yummy and beautifully presented. Parking is street parking.

Is everything on the menu vegan?

    Yes :)

    Are they organic?

I doubt they are fully or they would advertise it. But its not on their menus. At the same time I seem to recall that one of their farm vendors showed up while I was their. So worth asking them directly.

The food was fantastic. I distinctly remember my experience was basically a salt bomb, it was overly salty and overshadowed any potential flavor. This was not the case on our last visit. It was more than redeeming. Bad experience, what? We got the two specials to share - ribs in a tamarind sauce and braised beef tongue. They were both so, so good. The ribs were tender and wonderfully flavored. The tongue came with a nice pickle like salad on the side. For veggies, we shared the water spinach sauteed in this pungent shrimp paste sauce goodness. My sister packed the sauce home to eat with rice. Oh and the fries! The salted egg yolk flavor is mild, but good. Add the burnt ends.

The cucumber slices were a little soggy, but the meat was the thing for us. The coconut shrimp was pretty Bready and didn't have a whole Lotta flavor like almost stale. The mojo pork in the Caribbean bowl wasn't bad, but definitely was on the dryer side and needed some kind of sauce or more moistness. The crab Rangoon was primarily breading and barely any cream cheese. On top of that the breading wasn't even crispy like once you bit into it it kind of just gave in and was almost like chewing cardboard. We grabbed the pea shoots, the veggie dumplings, the sesame noodles, and the jianbing. The pea shoots are so so so good! Highly recommend as the green vegetable of choice :P The star of the show for me was the jianbing though -- literally crispy, crunchy, hot savory and so umami. Could eat 10 of those without noticing; they're also huge so you can definitely split one. The sesame noodles were tasty but I will say I was sad that there were 0 other vegetarian noodle dishes; kinda wished there was a hot vegetarian noodle option rather than cold sesame noodles which were good but not the best option for an overcast Portland day. I will say the noodle portions were VERY generous. The veggie dumplings were fine, not bad but not good.
