Ready to start cooking

Great shabu shabu ( hot pot). So glad they added this in the menu. We had half miso broth n half kimchi broth. The veggies went in first then once everything was heated we added the meat. Love this. The sauces are great. We added extras like tofu n dumplings. It's a great meal. Service is friendly n courteous n attentive which always appreciate.

Hot pot

I shared the hot pot with my family and it was unforgettable. We chose the ribeye with a chicken broth base, and it was rich, flavorful, and comforting in the best way. The vegetables that came with it were so fresh and added the perfect balance. Absolute chef's kiss. We also added squid and shrimp, which made the meal even more special. From the outside you might not expect much, but this place is a true hidden gem. Inside, everything comes together: the food, the ambience, and the service. The staff was warm and attentive, and it felt like they genuinely wanted us to have the best experience. I will be thinking about this meal for a long time. Honestly, I wish I lived next door so I could come back all the time. What a top notch experience.

I was in the area in the late afternoon so it was my first time. The food was so clean and perfect and you can tell the chef puts a lot of attention to making the food this way. Thank you for the extra rice, I will be back!

I would give 10 stars if possible! Jae's on winter has a great menu with endless options. I have been 3 times in a 2 week span, gotten something different every time and it is always delicious. From the cocktails to the starters to entrees and dessert. This is 5 star authentic cuisine! The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about their dishes. I highly recommend the pork gyoza, coffeetini cocktail, and the wonton soup!! Honestly I don't think you can go wrong with any of the menu offerings. Make sure to save room for dessert, the sweet roti is to die for!

Now this place is totally legit !!! What an awesome menu to choose from. Korean and Japanese food. The sushi is crazy good! Definitely would come back again. Our waiter was eh' didn't come around much. That's an issue for what you pay for, it's part of the package...

Through all of it, Lindsay was absolutely incredible. I honestly don't know how she did it. Even as the restaurant filled up, she somehow made it feel like I was her only table. My drink never got low, everything arrived quickly, and she checked in at exactly the right moments without ever making it feel rushed. She was friendly, sharp, and completely on top of everything happening around her. I've eaten at a lot of restaurants, and service like that is rare. Lindsay handled a packed room with the kind of calm, attention, and professionalism you usually only hope for. She turned an ordinary meal into one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. District Bar and Grill is lucky to have her. Alyssa was friendly, attentive, and very easy to talk to, adding to the restaurant's welcoming and inviting atmosphere. We started with the Lemon Blossom cocktail, which was smooth, citrusy, floral, and incredibly easy to sip -- a refreshing and delicious way to begin the meal. For appetizers, we ordered the 110 Cajun Yellowfin Tuna, and it completely impressed us. The tuna tasted incredibly fresh, with vibrant flavors and the perfect balance of spice. We enjoyed it so much that after finishing the first plate, we immediately ordered a second one. For our mains, I had the shrimp scampi, while my husband ordered the Cajun-style Norwegian salmon with broccoli and roasted Brussels sprouts. Both dishes were flavorful, satisfying, and nicely prepared. Between the delicious food and warm hospitality, this turned out to be a wonderful dining experience.

Unfortunately, the way management handles pricing and customer concerns has become very disappointing, The issue is not with all the staff. Many of them provide very good service. However, there have also been times when service at the bar has felt rushed or dismissive, particularly on weekend evenings when one bartender appears more focused on closing customers out early than allowing regulars to enjoy their meal or drinks without being tabbed out before requesting such. That kind of experience, combined with the pricing issue, makes loyal customers feel like an inconvenience rather than valued guests. The bigger issue is the repeated nickel-and-diming of regular customers. Most recently, I ordered a small pizza that was half cheese, and half mushroom, onion and sausage. I was charged the full topping price price for each of the three toppings as though the toppings had been placed on the entire pizza, even though they were only on half. On top of that, I was charged an additional fee because the other half was plain cheese-even though a cheese pizza is already base pizza. That kind of pricing is hard to justify and makes the regular customer feel like every small variation is treated as an opportunity to add another charge. When I first questioned the charge, the bartender's response was essentially "this is how it rings up in the register". That did not address the concern. a register entry does not make an unreasonable charge reasonable, and pricing can be adjusted when something clearly does not make sense. I then attempted to raise the issue with the owner and was directed to the manager. When I spoke with the manager, the response still felt defensive rather than customer-focused. I was eventually handed $2 and told, in substance, that because I was a regular customer, they did not want me to be upset. The way it was handled made it feel as though I was the one being difficult over a few dollars. That misses the point. The issue is not the $2. The issue is that regular customers should not feel like every order is an opportunity to squeeze out another charge. Regular customers notice when small charges do not seem reasonable or transparent. This was not an isolated concern. On Mother's Day, we came in expecting the regular dinner menu after being told dinner would be available. Instead, we were given a holiday menu with options selected from the regular menu at higher prices - around $7 to $8 more per entree - without anything extra included. On another visit, we were told there would be a $4 charge for extra bread, which also felt excessive. I understand restaurant's have costs, and I do not expect anything for free. But there is a difference between fair pricing and making loyal customers feel taken advantage of. When a regular customer raises a reasonable concern, it should be handled with professionalism, not defensiveness. This restaurant has good food, a great location, and some very good staff. But management's pricing practices and response to customer concerns have changed my view of this restaurant. After years of regular patronage, I walked away feeling like the loyalty of regular customers are treated like another revenue opportunity.

Best part of this place was probably the beautiful views! Worst service ever and food was just…read moresub-par. The best part of it was the drinks and the appetizer. We ordered fairly on time. No water, no bread. Had to ask for water. Our appetizers came quickly. The caprese salad was delicious. Then about a half an hour later our waitress comes out advising they were out of the venison. My husband had ordered it. She left to get the menu (when she should have had it with her) came back, my husband ordered the haddock. She said ok, left and came back about five minutes later advising that they were out of that too. At this point my husband had to look at the menu. Our waitress apologized for the inconvenience and explained how more than several dishes were not available and that they had to close the restaurant an hour earlier due to this. My husband settled on the salmon. By the time we got our food, it was cold. I ordered scallops. And I should have taken a picture - it was pathetic. It looked like an appetizer it was so small. The asparagus was cold, and the scallops had no flavor. I ate a few bites but it was so disappointing. The salmon was also just ok. Nothing special. Our waitress assured we would get dessert fast if we wanted it but we didn't wanna bother considering everything. She apologized again, saying she would talk to the manager and that he would come over to talk to us. He never did come over. They took off my scallops from the bill at least. But this was by far the worst experience ever. A few small suggestions and the experience may have been better - provide water at the beginning, we shouldn't have had to wait 1/2 an hour to get some, bring us the bread, we shouldn't have to ask for it and during the wait it should have been offered as a courtesy for the absurd long wait and frustration for not having the meal my husband wanted, and if you say a manager would come over, they should come over. The meal started out ok but it just got worse and worse. My husband and I paid our bill quickly and left. He had to get me food elsewhere as I was still very hungry.

New owners and a new menu this season - a good start, but many kinks yet to be worked out…read more A good basic "pub food" menu for a family-targeted sit-down restaurant at a ski mountain (bar appetizers, burgers, soup, salads, etc.), but it seems like there aren't quite enough servers to handle the volume of customers on a busy ski day, and the kitchen timing needs work. Our family of 8 skied a few days after Christmas, and after we ordered our lunch, the wait for our (very basic!) order was very long (at least 25-30 minutes). Then when the food finally started being delivered, it arrived in "shifts" so that half our group ended up finishing their lunches before the other half had even received their orders. (First the chili in bread bowls was delivered, then 5 minutes later the burger orders were delivered, then 5 minutes after that, the deep-fried items arrived, etc...) We understand that off-season staffing in the Berkshires is a challenge, but it was disappointing not to be able to share lunch with each other at the same time, and the slow-down in everyone being able to eat delayed our return to the slopes as we'd wished. The food was more than adequate for what it is, and the upstairs space & view of the mountain are beautiful as always, but the service needs work.

The French onion soup was soggy and tasteless , the nachos and Mac and were good. The black diamond chicken was tiny and tasteless , we received a dry baked potato and carrots after being told it was paired with roasted potatoes and green beans. They did bring some green beans to correct the order but they were not edible. They tasted like propane oddly. The chicken sandwich was very dry with a visibly old and near rotten shriveled tomato. The French fries were good as were the beverages. Our waiter was great and incredibly understanding of our poor experience. After finding out that a staff member provided incorrect information and our gift card would not be honored the manager called her DM who informed her there was nothing they could do. We got 25% off the bill at the end of it all but even with that the food was not great. A couple items ordered weren't awful but it's not something I would return for. Super disappointed , I really wish we went to another place to dine.
