Jaffurs is the best!!! This is my husband and my favorite winery. We love that the production and the tasting room are in the same location. It makes for a great wine tasting experience when harvest is happening and you get to see the wine being made. We love Santa Barbara wine, but it is a lot of pinot and chardonnay and we wanted a little more variety in our lives. Jaffurs Rhone varietal wines drew us in, and we became members after our first tasting. BTW they also have great pinot and chardonnay! The perks of being a wine club member not only gets you great discounts, but invites to their amazing pick up parties and other great member only events. As an LA based member we really appreciate that they throw an LA pick up event once a year. I couldn't recommend this place enough!

Instead of Sunday Brunch we went to Jaffurs Wine Cellars for a wine tasting. It's a small shop tucked away in the residential area. We had an educational visit here, lots of questions and answers. The lady working was so knowledgeable and the wine was a nice start to my day. My favorite from this location was the 2015 Viognier, Bien Nacido Vineyard; a white wine crisp with a mild fruity flavor goes well with seafood. Unfortunately they did not have any chairs of stools to sit on which would have made it a bit more comfortable. First Santa Barbara wine tasting experience for me--surfboards and all! Cost to worth it ratio: 2.5 Highlights: - Surfboards: coolest thing about this place. Had a bunch of surfboards hung up on the wall. Guess they are collectibles of the owner and there's a binder that explains them all. Welcome to Santa Barbara wine tasting--you won't see that in Napa! :-) - Types of wine: besides bunches of syrahs, had a roussanne varietal which I had never seen as well as a sangiovese which is always nice to see - One wine had a picture of a dog on the label and proceeds from the sale of it benefits a local dog park. I'm not a dog-lover, but I have enough friends who are to think this is cool and unwinery like. ;-) - In a garage-type room in an industrial area of the town. Lowlights (my flip side to highlights): - We didn't get much description of each wine we tasted except for where the vineyards are located on map. I'm a wine person and like to be educated a bit about the winery and each wine while I taste. - Tasting fee: $8, which isn't much for Napa, but other places we visited charged less and provided more of a complete tasting experience I'm glad we tried it, but not one of the tasting rooms I'd run back to next time I'm in town.

On vacation in Santa Barbara for some wine tasting and Jaffurs did not disappoint! We scheduled a tasting and they were very accommodating with COVID, as the tasting was outdoors. The hospitality and service was amazing and they even gave us recommendations to other tasting rooms. My favorites were the Chardonnay and Red Blend. Definitely recommend a visit to Jaffurs!

This winery offered free tastings for the hotel we were staying at, so my friend and I decided to stop by and check it out. The winery does all of their production and bottling on site. The wines we tried were from a set menu and flavorful. They even had a cute shop dog that was roaming around. Definitely a winery to check out while in the area

This was our last winery we visited on our trip to Santa Barbara and we are so so glad we came here The tasting room is so unique and unassuming. Very relaxed atmosphere but limited seating. All their wine making occurs in that small space and they make delicious wines. We loved the Grenache, Syrah and Petite Syrah. Some bottles were taken back to Maryland and I would love to be a wine club member. They have mAny things to keep kids entertained as well like magnets, chalk and drawing books. That really helped us enjoy the great wines and learn about Jaffurs. Thanks Miranda for being a great help. Whenever we come back to SB, we will definitely visit!

I can never get enough Jaffurs Kimsey Syrah.

This is my wife and my favorite winery ever. The staff is awesome, the wine is amazing and the experience is always top notch. Miranda, the tasting room manager is so nice and always makes us feel at home. Daniel the owner and Steven the winemaker, are always willing to talk with you about their amazing wine and not make you feel like a wine noob. Love this place and the people at Jaffurs.

Best place in Santa Barbara to taste Syrah. Miranda and the rest of the jaffurs crew are top notch. You won't be disappointed.

Good stop on the Sb Urban Wine Trail. A little far away from the other wine stops, so probably best to go there first.

We had a series of issues from the start. Our assigned waiter was completely inattentive; he ignored our table, failed to check on us, and never brought the cheese board we ordered. We eventually had to flag down another member of the staff just to get any service at all. Even after we caught his attention, our server seemed aware of us but made no effort to approach or assist. Additionally, the wait time for our wine flights was excessively long. When the cheese board finally arrived, I was shocked to find that all three cheeses were served still inside their original plastic wrappers--not even sliced. To make matters worse, we were provided with plastic knives to cut the cheese ourselves, which was incredibly difficult and frustrating. I have never encountered a cheese board served this way at any establishment. I really wanted to enjoy this visit, and I want to give credit to the other waitresses who were working that day--they were great and were the only saving grace of the experience. However, the lack of basic service and the bizarre presentation of the food made this a trip I wouldn't recommend

We were staying at the Ritz-Carlton Bacara for my niece's wedding, and since we had a full day to spend in Santa Barbara, we decided to come here -- and we're so glad we did! The winery was super cute and had the perfect Halloween vibe we were looking for. The person that assisted us was wearing a dinosaur inflated costume. It was so fun! Our original plan was to have a drink and then walk around downtown Santa Barbara, but we loved it so much that we ended up staying the entire time. We were seated in a cozy living room-style area with a fireplace right beside us -- it felt so warm and inviting. Later in the afternoon, the Dodgers game came on, so we enjoyed watching part of it while sipping our wine and just relaxing. They even had a fun Halloween special that paired chocolates and candies with their wines, which made the experience extra festive and unique. The charcuterie board was absolutely delicious -- we ordered extra bread and crackers because everything was so good! We had such an amazing time here. I can't express enough how much we enjoyed it. Everyone we interacted with was pleasant, professional, and attentive, making us feel not just like customers, but like valued guests. We were encouraged to relax and enjoy the space. We were even allowed to play a friendly card game at our table while sipping our wine, which added a fun and personal touch to the tasting. The team struck the perfect balance of being available, informative, and never overbearing. The wines themselves were fantastic -- smooth, rich, and well-presented with helpful guidance from the staff. Every pour came with insight, and you could tell the team truly loves what they do. This was the highlight of our wine tasting day in Santa Barbara, and we're so grateful we chose to stop here. If you're looking for a place that treats you with respect, makes you feel welcome, and serves incredible wine, J. Wilkes is the place to go. We will absolutely be returning!

Our servers Alex and Kayla were exceptional at both suggesting some delicious lunch items, and also giving a rundown on their different wine tastings. They gave us some helpful information on the assorted varietals and vintages as well. We went in specifically for their M5 and Riviera Rose, but discovered their extensive selection of other varietals and vintages. Came away with some new favorites: Sauvignon Blanc, Trois Blondes (a delicious white blend), Viognier, Mourvedre, and Estate Syrah. Perfect that they open at noon for lunch. We paired our wines with their Santa Barbara Smokehouse Salmon, Smoked Duck and Arugula Salad, Chicken Pesto Sandwich, and Sausage Mushroom & Carmelized Onion Pizza. Still so much on their menu to enjoy.

It was chilly so she tried to light the heat lamp at my request but both that one and the replacement did not work. The replacement actually had the propane disconnected so I assume someone knew that tank needed to be changed out but didn't do it. The other tables from the large party were full of wine glasses and a half eaten pizza. Those sat there for over an hour, and we watched several groups of people come but leave without being seated because no server was available yo seat them and the only open table hadn't been cleared. When it was finally cleared, one guest at a near by table commented that the pizza shouldn't go to waste. The girl who cleared the table initially carried it inside but came right back out with it and served it to that guest whose kid ate it. I'm all for not wasting food and if the guest had gotten up and grabbed the pizza himself, that would be one thing... but to serve old food that had been sitting out for a long time to a guest is a no no for a business. We otherwise enjoyed most of the wines in our tasting flight. Would've given 5 stars if service had been more timely, tables cleared and old food not served up.
