My wife loved her chicken fried rice, I thought it was great too, I loved my pad thai with chicken, I asked them to spice it up a bit, you can choose between 1 to a 3 and I chose 2...i'll go with a 3 next time because I like a bit more heat. I'm giving this place four stars for the food only. The Golden Sacks were delicious and the pad Thai was yummy. Gonna try the curry next time for sure. Service is complete ass. Zero stars for service. When our party went to dinner there was two female servers. The one that was helpful and provided excellent service was not even our server. Our server, who was the other female, was terrible. Took our orders and brought our food. Then left and never came back to the table. No refills and no additional orders. She ghosted our whole party. She did not even give us the check. We had to get the check from the other server. No apology, not even an acknowledgement. Came for lunch during the week for the first time. I was a bit surprised that for a Thai restaurant, all the wait staff were Caucasian. The female server who served me never smiled once although I smiled at her and was very polite. Not sure what the deal was. The food was okay, nothing special. Not only did I have terrible service, they stole from me. On June 7th my daughter and I walked in 30 minutes before closing. We knew they were about to close but we also knew what we wanted to order and we were not going to take a long time. As we walked in, another couple walked in right after us. The young Asian guy working completely ignored us and sat them first. When he looked at us he said "to go?" I said "no, for here". In which he asked again "to go?" As if he was insisting for us not to stay, I said again, "no, for here". He told us to sit anywhere. We ordered, ate our food and were gone by 9 pm. The entire time we were there, the server was very rude, not friendly, had no customer service experience, and made us feel very unwelcome. Whether anyone agrees with me or not, I do not tip bad service. That is my belief. When I received my check, I scratched off the tip line. Well...I keep receipts until I have the time to check my bank statement and make sure everything matches. Today, I happened to check and I saw that the server had given himself a $3.00 tip. Not only was he rude, but he steals from me???? This is unacceptable behavior and I will never come back again. I will also put Yelp reviews and other reviews about this incident and bad experience with pictures to prove. I will be calling my bank to get this resolved. I rarely walk around downtown Georgetown as I come here for settings at court and not much else. Today, I had a 3 hour break between settings and decided to explore a bit. Found this place around lunch time and decided to try it out. I started with a Thai tea, which was very refreshing and delicious. It was just the right amount of sweet. I ordered the Buda's Delight and added chicken. As I waited for my meal, I was presented with a soup of the day, which surprisingly comes with the meal. It was a coconut lime based soup and was absolutely awesome. It's hot outside and I still made the effort to finish it! The mushroom based sauce on my Buda's Delight was...delightful, and the veggies were perfect...not too soft but also not so crunchy that they would be considered raw. Delicious Thai food - I recommend the pra ram chicken. I like that this place is central and fast because it's so easy to just pick up a to go order and take it home. My only complaint is that the actual restaurant itself is quite charmless. I jokingly refer to this place as a "necessary evil" because they're the only place you can get true Thai in GT that I'm aware of. Khun Kan Thai has taken over Dia Thai and is under new ownership since 12 Feb 14. The new menu offers much of the same fare Dia offered plus much more. Khun promises no MSG in their menu. The prices are reasonable, portions adequate the service quite friendly. The Chicken Pad Thai tasted very fresh and the noodles were just right. We love this place! Easily the best authentic Thai food in the area. Everything we've tried on the menu has been delectable and delicious. Our service is always good, even when the restaurant is only running with 2 servers. It's got a great location right on the square in Georgetown and the staff are friendly and helpful. We went to this place for my Niece's birthday dinner because she likes egg rolls. Between the piece of raw chicken in my meal and the horrible service, we will never be back. Yes, RAW chicken. Sure it could be a simple mistake but the way they "handled" it was awful too! They didn't charge me the $10 for my plate, and offered a free dessert and never brought it out. Walked in to place to-go order and was told would take 20 minutes, no problem. Twenty minutes went by and I started asking for my food. They went to the back and never returned. I asked another person for my order, they went back and never returned. I asked for a refund after another 10 minutes went by. The manager came out and said the food is ready but he didn't have it with him? I said where is it??. Tried this place for the first time today after driving by it to and from work daily. Overall pretty happy with the decision. Small, quaint restaurant without a whole lot of distractions on the walls. Was warmly greeted by one server who I ordered hot jasmine tea from. A minute or two later, another server arrived with my tea and complimentary Tom Yum soup. I wasn't expecting this, so I was pleasantly surprised. I was then unpleasantly surprised in my first bite that the chicken breast had a big piece of ligament in it. After I got through that, the rest of the soup was phenomenal-nice balance of sour and heat, rich flavor. I would intentionally order it in the future. A short while later, my pork egg rolls arrived. They were crispy on the outside and rocket-hot in the middle. I don't know if it was the folding technique or that the wrapper was too big, but I found the ends to be a little doughy/undercooked-like there was too much wrapper tucked into each end. The filling was tasty, but overall not good enough for me to want to order them again. About 3 minutes after my egg rolls got to the table, my pork Pad Thai was served. It was a generous portion off noodles in a glossy brown sauce accented with eggs, pieces of pork, and green onions. There was a small pile of chopped peanuts in the corner of the plate. It tasted great, I wish I had asked for a lime wedge (next time) as that would have added a nice brightness to the umami bomb.
