Really like this bar. It's total old-style, with plenty of character. Pool tables and friendly staff, along with reasonable-priced drinks. I'm a Broncos fan and just moved to town. My Raiders fan husband and I decided to check this place out as soon as we heard about it. We have been back once or twice a week ever since. The service is quick and friendly. The atmosphere is great. The bathrooms are clean. The food is $2 and just enough to satisfy. As for dive bars, I am officially a fan of this one! Why? Because they are a Denver Bronco's bar - oh, and the staff is exceptionally nice! We went to watch the Super Bowl. While the food was not the greatest, the staff way made up for it ... while we smelled for a week from the smoke in the place, the $3 shots of single barrel Crown AND free Jello Shots way made up for it. A few homeless people came in during the game, they were treated like VIP - fed and given food to go ... how nice! :) Oh, and they always have 10 meals for $2 each ... yes, $2 each ... This use to be one of my favorite bars to come to . One it's a broncos bar and second they have a wonderful steak dinner, but the service of the waitress has stopped me from going or even taking people or tell people about them . Cindi the bartender is great but until they find a waitress or waiter that is of some type of quality I want you to know . I had a couple come in after me just to see if they would get service before us. They were served and eating when the waitress came and told us that y'all were out of steaks. I want good service. However, I am NOT interested in the bartender becoming part of my life. I've been to Jake's on 4 different occassions over the past 2 months. Twice the barstaff was drunk. The bartender was riding around on a customer's back. This place could be a decent dive bar/hangout but the staff needs to be replaced before there is any hope of that happening. read more

Divey bar but really good deals during Broncos games. $2 food menu with everything from chips and quest to spaghetti to meatloaf to wings. Quality ain't the best but you get full and keep chugging those beers for $4.50 or less. Selection was worse than I would have thought as it's a Broncos bar so I was hoping for some great Denver beer, but with only 5 beers on draft you need to cater towards coors and bud so I understand. Still they had rebel IPA so at least a happier option was available. For Broncos games this place is great. I wonder what their off Sunday regular schedule is like at the bar; but for football it's a great place to watch with tons of TVs. read more

I rarely go to bars and when I do, it's an occasional happy hour closer to the strip (where I work). I have passed this place several times in the 5 years that I've lived in Vegas and have never been inside. To be honest, it is the sign that made me take notice of the place. I have been here twice now. The drink prices are reasonable. Cindy the bartender is very nice. The $10 steak dinner is awesome. Good portions and everything is seasoned right. I have yet to stay for karoake, I'm not a pool player and I'm not really a sports fan (which is why I couldn't give it 5 stars - I haven't had the full Jakes Bar experience yet). I used to love this place. One of my best friends lives across the street, I was raised in the area, it was at one time an incredible dive, always a great time. I hadn't been down there in about 2-3 years and I stopped in hoping to see some familiar faces (which I did). The bartenders were rude and horrible. I'm sad about that, I might give it another shot at redemption, don't know yet.. hoping I never see either of the bartenders that were there ever again.. for real. I was a waitress for all of my twenties and I know that when you have that bad of an attitude, you should move on and find something to do that you enjoy. First time here last weekend for a Niner Vs Bronco game. Great staff, great service, great prices on pitchers and they have a $2 menu. They also make game watching even more entertaining with the raffle tickets they give out for every touchdown the Broncos make. Oh and the Karaoke after the game was fun too! :) read more

Denver broncos bar. Good locals hang, been there before but nothing special if your from out of town looking for something exciting.

Cool hole in the wall dollar beers til 6. Kinda sporty but i didnt mind cost it wasn't that loud. Super clean not very smoky. I like it. Definitely come back if i am ever in the neighbourhood. Not alot on draft though, they have great 2 dollar menu. Staff is awesome read more

A few weeks ago, at around Noon I stopped by, grabbed a seat at the bar, there was a total of three people sitting at the bar prior to my arrival. I sat down, there was an Older woman "bar-tending" looked at me, as she was rinsing a glass, did not bother to say hi/hello/hey/be right with you etc etc. I thought well maybe she is having a bad day, i have worked in the industry for over 15 years now, I know it can get a bit frustrating at times, no biggie. But after a couple minutes went by, she continued keeping her self busy, wiping down some glasses while having a conversation with another guest who was there prior. It had now been 5-7 minutes of her completely and purposely ignoring me, so she now had my full attention, at this point, this was neither normal nor acceptable, in any business. as i kept looking at her , she never again bothered to make eye contact with me since that first time. But then! to my surprise she decided it was a good time to break down/check/change the large bills in the drawer! by now more than TEN minutes had past since I sat down. I decided to grab her attention all I wanted was a cold pint of beer. I said to her "Excuse me mad'm when you're not so busy can you please get me a pint of X beer" she looked at me and said, as she rolled her eyes "I have customers...blah blah blah" I wasn't able to hear the rest. but I didn't care to at that point. as she finished running her mouth, she poured the beer, sat it in front of me and said it's $$ , I said here is my debit. she says ,with an attitude " I can not run your card if all you want is a beer" I said " I understand but should there have been a sign stating that, anywhere, I would not have ordered a beer at this establishment". I walked out of that place, it didn't affect me personally, it was quite strange, but I did wonder what in the hell the saggy old Hag's problem was, other than I am a Non Caucasian person, I came up with nothing else. or it could be that working as a "bar-tender" at that age is depressing. But! she could also be the owner. a real mentally handicapped individual who is so traumatized by the media or what ever else has her paranoid ,she feels like every non-white is out to get her or take her job/business away. what ever the case, this traumatized old woman needs to get lost from that bar and go feed and take care of her kittens. that bar will not make it much farther while that peculiar individual is there. read more

Jakes is a working man's bar. They got cheep drinks, and a decent $1.50 food menu, sure it's most likely been microwaved, but you can't beat two helpings for $3 flat. The drinks are pretty strong, and the beer is always ice cold. They actually do keep a good quantity of their beers in a giant ice chest which i appreciate on a hot summer's day. I usually go in late nights to avoid the inevitable karaoke crowds (not that I'm opposed to karaoke, but most of the people that sing at Jakes choose country music songs that they think they can sing) They used to have a giant cigarette rolling machine, but as the graveyard bartender mistakenly pointed out "Obama made us take it out" I didn't have the heart to explain to him that it was more likely the 2 lobbyists that tobacco companies have on staff to bribe, induce, and blackmail every member of the Senate, and House of Representatives. The bartenders ignorance aside, they usually hook you up with drinks on graveyard, strong pours, and comped beers for players which I like since if you gamble $20 they'll pretty much serve you the whole night. Lol. Jakes is a rare thing nowadays with so many places like The Lodge, and PT's coockie cutter franchise type bars popping up all over Las Vegas... a local corner bar, with no need for gimmicks and rewards cards, they have everything they need, loyal patrons and cheep drinks. 1st time here with friends this past weekend. Friends ordered the $10 steak dinner. Comes with side salad, choice of potato, and I believe some veggies. I do not eat steak so I ordered off their other menu which was a order slip listing what was for dinner. I had fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. It was eerily close to a frozen dish but you know what, it's $2.00 so who the hell cares. I was there to drink, not eat. Don't go in with huge food expectations. We were greeted when we walked in because our group was so big and we were ALL in our Bronco gear staff right away got us some tables pushed together right at a TV.
