The size of the patties were surprising for a $10-$11 burger. I love cheeseburgers. The beef was just about hidden by the bun and condiments. There wasn't a whole lot of flavor. The burger patty looked like it was steamed and did not look appetizing. The fried pickles were great. The Mac and cheese I didn't taste but 2/3 boys ate it. We came in for dinner. Cayley was our server and she came and grabbed us at the door, instantly got our drinks out, came back and checked on our food and made sure we never needed anything. First time to this new location. There were 6 of us total, 3 kids. Our server was Halle, she was very nice and attentive. Burgers were good, everything came out as ordered. We got there at opening today 20 minutes early to make sure we could get in! The cars were pulling in quickly after us and before it opened we were standing in the line that formed very quickly outside. We go in and the service by Hallie was courtesy and prompt. The food came how in a fairly reasonable time and was made to order. I should of took pictures as I would normally but guess the smell of the food overwhelmed me and my family as we all just stuck our heads down and devoured our food. We finally came up for air and all of us were full and satisfied not only by the food! But also for the service Hallie provided. We have a rating scale from 1 to 10 depending on if it's a repeat restaurant we would like to come back and we all agreed it was a 10 out of 10. We did ask for no cheese on the chicken sandwich and it came with the cheese anyway. My sister then was removing it when Hallie noticed we are not the family that would send something back to the kitchen unless it's really undercooked so she asked my sister if she could take it back? But she said no it's ok as she got all of it off of the sandwich but if you could have some more pico de gallo which Hallie was very quick to provide! We have been to the Jake's I. Fort Worth and had gotten really bad service! The server not only forgot the shake we ordered and charged us for it! He also charged us for the table next to us all of their order so when we got the bill for over $150 dollars we had to take over 30 minutes after we were done eating to get all of it corrected! With that being said we never went back to that location again! We definitely will be back to this location as with the exception of the cheese was on point all the way around! All the servers that we saw were quickly taking care of their guests and everyone around us were enjoying their food! None of the burgers or sandwiches come with fries or a side. The Jake's burger my husband ordered was not even a quarter pound patty, very skimpy. He has to cut the burger in half and discard half the bun in order to have a decent burger thickness. We ordered cheese fries and sent them back because the fries were not freshly fried, limp and soggy and instead of cheddar the fries had queso sauce on them. Not good. Where's the beef? None of their burgers come with a side, you have to order them separately, and they're expensive. My wife ordered "The Jake". It was a razor thin patty that couldn't have weighed 3 ounces in an enormous bun. Mine was a double and I could barely tasted the meat. They up-charge for every little change: 50 cents for chipotle mayo instead of regular (that's maybe 1/2-teaspoon of condiment!), 20 cents to add a slice of onion., 95-cents for jalapeno. I noticed they didn't deduct when i deleted the cheese from mine. We ordered a large sweet potato fries ($7.99) to share. They came out a very high-brown to almost burnt. And cold. They serve with a marshmallow crème dipping sauce (yech!) and coated with brown sugar and tasted weird. They need a different recipe. We exchanged for onion rings, which were $4.99 for maybe 7 rings of various sizes. Service is the only reason for the 2 stars. read more

Meh. Walked in at 7:30 on a weekday and we waited over two minutes for someone to greet us. Here is the thing that really irked me. The front door is 15 feet from the bar where the bartender refused to make eye contact with us, much less smile or welcome us to the restaurant. The burgers were okay but with the hype we were expecting more. The sides were also mediocre, we had the French fries and cheese curds. Sadly, I found Jakes pretty run of the mill for burger places. Yes, the adult playground, bar, and patio seating will be a draw, and a welcome one for the area. The food, well I found a underwhelming. Nearby compets like JDs Burgers on Camp Bowie West and Fred's are way more tasty and appealing. Agreed, no playground... but much better buns, meat, fried pickles, fries and onion rings. Plus, the beer temps do not compare to the others mentioned. Maybe once the new wears off the corporate burger franchise can adjust it will be better. read more

I want to love this place. I really do. And I think it has great potential but we won't be back until the new restaurant excitement goes down. My husband doesn't ever want to go back. We went a week ago on Sunday, the second day of the soft opening. It was crazy packed in that tiny host area but we got our names in and we're given a 45 minute wait. That part was spot on, we got seated almost exactly 45 minutes later. But we were seated at a high top table in the bar area, one of only two tables and that's when the problems began. Apparently the hosts didn't tell the bartender (who had a completely full bar) that they were now seating dining customers in the bar area, and he was our server. So we didn't have anyone come to our table for probably 20 minutes, not even for water. I told the hosts no one had seen us yet, she told the bartender and he came over as soon as he could. We have 3 little kids and they were really hungry so we ordered everything immediately once we were seen-drinks, one appetizer, and our meals. Then we waited. The appetizer eventually came out after what seemed like an extremely long wait and we expected the food to finally come out shortly after. Even the gentleman who gave us our appetizer said it would be out soon. But it was not out soon. Eventually I asked the bartender about it and he went to check, then said our food order wasn't put in until after we got our appetizer (which took forever). Huh? Why? That didn't even make any sense. But we waited more. My kids played in the outdoor garden area, and despite the heat, it's awesome back there! It'll be so nice once the weather cools down. Great turf, rock river, corn hole, giant janga. By the time we finally got our food, we were all pretty miserable. I started paying attention to the time and from the text we received that our table was ready (and we were right there ready to be seated) to the time we actually got our food, it was 1 hour and 17 minutes. Now I know things are crazy on grabs openings. But this is ridiculous. The food was good. We all enjoyed it. But at that point we were all in a bad mood and wanted to leave. We had planned to get dessert but knew that would be another hour and we couldn't take it any more. I had asked for a to go box for my kids' leftover nuggets and chips. And that took so long that I just piled them into a paper napkin and we left. Who knows when she finally showed up with those boxes. I'm still giving it 4 stars bc I know things are crazy during grand openings, but I feel like I'm being generous. On the positive, everyone was super friendly. So so nice. The bartender definitely knows what he's doing but he shouldn't be expected to serve tables too during that kind of rush. It doesn't appear everyone had this experience. The 4 person group who was seated literally immediately before us in the actual dining area was leaving as we finally got our food. If you're dining in, I highly recommend you do not let them seat you in the bar area at those high top tables. It's worth waiting a little longer to be seated literally anywhere else. Very disappointing experience. We had to watch two episodes of Ted lasso to cheer up when we got home. Lol. I wish them well. I think they could be really great, but more attentiveness is needed. And if you can't handle the volume of seating folks in the bar area, don't do it. Also parking is a total disaster. When the bank seems really packed for a bank, maybe find another day to go to Jake's. read more
