I read other reviews and did not have high expectations. What I got was a very pleasant surprise. If you received poor service before, you can ask for Kaelyn, she was awesome. She tended to our order quickly and came back to check on us several times. The food quality was excellent as well. We shared fried pickles, my son had Jake's Special Burger, and I had a Veggie Burger (yes I'm vegan). The fried pickles, FRENCH fries, and onion rings were cooked to perfection and served hot and delicious. My son said his burger was as good as a whataburger (that is a religious statement in some parts). He loved it and ate it all up. My veggie burger was very fresh and had great flavor. Overall I am giving this place a 5 star rating for service, food quality and atmosphere. The fact that it is walking distance from the FC Dallas stadium is a major plus. Enjoy! read more

We came in set down waiter didn't come to take drink order until 15 minutes later. 45 minutes later 2 other families iOrdered chicken salads us after us get their food. Jakes is one of my go to locations for a great burger or a pretty tasty chicken fried steak. The service is usually quite good. On my most recent trip Makayla was my server and took great care to make sure my experience was everything it should be, wonderful. I usually sit at the bar, and even though the bartenders are usually busy making drinks or taking care of other customers they always make sure my glass is full and my food is delivered promptly. Jakes has TVs all over to keep an eye on various sporting events and good music for atmosphere. All-in-all you should give them a try. They are a locally owned chain and put care into every meal. read more

What was suppose to be a lovely birthday dinner for my friend turned into the MOST annoying visit somewhere ever. The hostess was great and sat us in a timely manner. It then took at LEAST 15 minutes for a server to notice we were sitting there. She then she let the other server who was kissing and hanging all over her boyfriend at the bar that she has a table. She came to great us, gets our drink order, a Dr Pepper and a Dos XX and our app. Took her 5 minutes to bring the Dr Pepper because she of course stopped and talked to her bf for three minutes before bringing the drink that was in her hand to the table that she aggressively sat on the table. The Dos XX took 15 minutes to get to our table, and in that 15 mins a manager came up and took our order for her. She then still didn't come to our table after he took it to confirm it. Our app took 25 minutes to come out, and then our meal came out shortly after. We had picked out things from our app, that you could clearly tell something was wrong with it.. there was chicken pieces mixed in and as a vegetarian that could have made my friend really sick. The server saw us picking it out and not once asked if there was something wrong and how she could fix it. Then our meals came out, and it wasn't even hot, his veggie burger was cold and my sandwich was warm. Close to the end of our visit my friends beer was getting close to being empty and she not once came by to see if we wanted another one. So after about 15 more minutes we went to a manager to get our ticket, I let them know what was going on and that this was the worst service I have ever had. The entire time I was talking to the manager the bar tender would hover over to hear what I was saying then went and told the server who then starting hovering as well making it an already unpleasant visit uncomfortable. read more

Greeted at the door and promtly sat. I love the attentive spirit of the staff. Drink order was taken right away and promptly brought. Order was taken soon after and appetizers were Hot and ready. But this is where things went south. The mozzerella bites, or fried air pockets, were lacking cheese. Which happens to be a very important aspect to this dish. Burgers were ordered per usual and even though my sandwich came with tomatoes I ordered extra. I love tomatoes. Cook read no tomatoes and none were included. Really enjoyed coming here, as it's walkable to my home. I recently attempted to sit on the patio, with my dog...like I've done for YEARS and was told they are no longer a dog friendly patio. Waitress blamed it on the city, however that was not true, it was management's call to no longer allow this because of their turf being an issue in the event your dog has an accident, my pet has never done this, but I'm sure it happens. After YEARS of allowing pets you now change this, but keep he same turf. Makes zero sense. Definite deal breaker from me here on out...so on my walk back home STARVING I stopped at Haystack, you should try this place out if you haven't yet. I've been here four or five times previously. Was not impressed with the service before tonight. We had a bartender named Christion. He made the difference tonight. They had a huge party in the back so food was slow coming out it had nothing to do with him. He was super attentive made great drinks and ultimately lead to a very good experience here at Jake's. The burger when we got it was amazing as were the cheese fries with all the toppings. It was definitely the best burger place around Frisco. I do recommend this place once again. read more

My partner and I came Sunday evening with some friends and our server was Andrea who was a very sweet and kind lady, she was very friendly, good at talking with people and she's the first serve we've ever had that is attentive and she took the time to check on us and talk to us. It was our first time having her a server and we would love to have her again but she told us that she's going to the Addison location so I hope she has a great time there. I can't say enough about the burgers at this place. The Patio also rocks in warm weather as they roll up these huge glass garage door walls. We have always been in from lunch time to no later than 7, it looks like it would have a good bar scene but I can't tell you. What I can say is if you like burgers you MUST try "The Works". It is a much better version of a classic fast food burger but they added bacon!! Ummm... I get it with tater tots but they have many options and you can add bacon, chives, cheese, jalapeños and more in case those tots need dressing up. As more and more options spring up in Frisco this place stays amazing and there isn't usually a wait as they have a great space. read more

They don't know what they are doing. Waiters don't know the menu and the bartender doesn't know the drinks. Chef sent out my Chicken fried Chicken with no toast and no gravy! I had to go to the bar and point to the bottle of single malt scotch for them to know what I wanted to drink. Even then it took 20 minutes for us to get our drinks. The manager said he won't charge me for my food but when the bill came, it still had the charge for food which they then corrected. Tried this place for the first time while touring around the local areas. Really good food and excellent service. I had the Atkins Burger! It was great! I have two suggestions... 1) Diet Dr Pepper - this is the only soda I drink as do MANY other diabetics and weight loss advocates.. also 2) maybe add a Keto Burger to the menu... take the Atkins Burger, get rid of the chili and replace it with bacon... throw away the onion and tomato and there you have it!!! These two changes would have me coming in every time we're in the area!!! read more

Jakes is pretty much my favorite local find since I moved here in 2019. Best burger I've had (Hot Cowboy FTW) and surprisingly, best chicken fried steak I've found around me! The patio is a great place to hang out right across from Toyota Stadium, for pre- or post- match chilling. I've had Aly a couple times as my server and she's great and puts up with my antics giving her a hard time. :) Definitely recommend asking for her! read more

If I could get this place 0 stars, I would. We came in for dinner, and waited. No hostess in sight. My friend used to work here, so I'd expected them to be better, but nope. Finally two girls literally crawled through a window to seat us. One was nice, the other just stared at my friend and I. Did we need 2 hostesses? Nope. We were a party of 2, not 20. We ordered our food. We got sweet potato fries, a Jake's special, and chicken tenders. My friend got a blue moon schooner. The food came out shortly later. The fries, the burger and, the beer. The beer was in a glass, not a schooner. That's okay, I guess. We specifically asked for a schooner, but fine. The fries tasted super sweet. It came sprinkled in sugar with icing. I would consider this more of a dessert than an appetizer, but to each their own. The burger was cold. Then the waiting game started. 20 minutes, no food. Then the check came out. My friend told the waitress that we still had one more order, in which she forgot about. She did repeat the order to us, but still managed to forget. We didn't even order a lot. She also tried to take up the food my friend was finishing. He was eating slowly to wait for my food to come out. She didn't even other to ask. Well, my order did come out eventually, but the waitress promptly set down the check and waited for us to pay. Then she went awol. That was extremely rude. Not only did you forget an item and messed up two items, you promptly handed us the bill before we even got to finish, let alone eat. As for the chicken tenders, it tasted like it's been sitting in a warmer for hours. How did you manage to forget that? I have a idea. Now I understand why this place has such low ratings. With customer service like this, who would be okay with this place? The service is slow and terrible, orders get messed up, and the staff can be rude. Extremely disappointed in the quality of the food here. I got the jalapeño bottle cap burger, which is just their cheeseburger with fried jalapeños. Just on appearance, the burger looked extremely oily. The bun was glistening and there was oil leaking from all sides of the burger. Upon further inspection of the patty, it did not have good char marks and almost seemed boiled rather than grilled. Each patty was very thin, bland and overcooked. The "juiciness" of the burger came mainly from the vegetables and the oil. The onion rings were very inconsistent. Some were perfectly crispy and well seasoned. However, about half of them were soggy or were underdone, most likely because they were larger but received the same amount of frying time. Service was nice and quick and the waitress came by frequently. However, the food was very disappointing and I am unlikely to come back to eat here. read more

Our hostess was pleasant and efficient. Then we met Doreen. What a rock star she was. So nice, welcoming and accommodating. She allowed us to try a beer we were unfamiliar with which was nice, and industry standard. My Mom and Dad wanted to split a beer and she accommodating them by pouring it into two glassess so they didn't have to share the glass, outstanding suggestion and extra effort was much appreciated. Nice touch Doreen! The manager came over toward the end of the meal to check in on us as well and was very nice and welcoming. Food: two of us had salads and they were both very good. Fresh greens, perfectly cooked grilled chicken etc. Ober great experience and we will give it another try in the near future. read more

Went there for the first time for breakfast last year around this time. The food was amazing but the service was very slow (almost IHOP slow if you know what I mean). It's a little bit pricey for my taste but again, the food is amazing and coffee too. What made the difference this year was our waiter JB, he did an amazing job keeping the coffee mug always full and making sure we were doing great. I'm not sure if Jakes has had a change in owner or management, but the service my last few visits has been excellent. Not even a hint of the inconsistencies from the last few years. Food is still delicious and they have even updated the menu and presentation.
