The Conductor of The Gravy Train is owner/operator Dee Dee G., and she launched her 5-year dream in January 2019. Business has been deservedly good ever since. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner from their red and black rig - The Gravy Train regularly features comfort food faves like sliders, mashers, mac and cheese, chicken and dumplings, and crinkle cut fries that go with any beer you can imagine. As the name suggests, plan on a gravy-smothered option or two somewhere on the menu! Like most food trucks, variety and good prices are huge. The Gravy Train offers both! They also cater large and small events, and they also have the "special bank" available for you to donate to those that need help with a home cooked meal. I had the elk sliders, which are basically sloppy joes and my husband had the moose ear. We also split an order of apple fritters. Now I will say I got a solid heap of meat on my sliders and my husbands sandwich wasn't shy about the meat either but my bun was soggy and fell apart straight out the gate. And I found the flavor to be lacking. My husband's sandwich was also lacking in the flavor department. The apple fritters were great though. Would I eat here again? Sure, if I did not have any other options.

I could have eaten more of that. The Mac & cheese was good. The corn muffin was delish. The grilled chicken salad was so tasty as was the pulled pork. I tried multiple table-side bbq sauces on the chicken and enjoyed them all except I didn't try the jalapeño one. Also, the beans are so flavorful. Really can't go wrong with the bbq here. Known for their cheesesteaks and loaded fries, I opted for an order of the Andy Chuck's Steak Tots which featured seasoned grilled steak, peppers, onions stacked on top of 1/2 lb of tots (fries or chips are also available) smothered with melted cheese. What's not to love? After discovering they were out of fries and tots, we settle on the same order, but over chips. What I did not expect was tortilla chips, creating more of a cheesesteak nachos style, but the chips made for a good crunch and not the typical soggy mess that tends to happen with smothered fries or tots. I was a little disappointed in the steak and cheese though, as the steak was chopped fine with the consistency of ground beef and the cheese wasn't freshly melted cheese, but more of a queso base cheese. Portion was pretty small for $12, but gave us just the amount of light sustenance we needed before making our way to another brewery. When stumbling upon this truck again, I think I'll stick to trying one of their sandwiches.

As the neighborhood party planner, I can attest that Mark was super responsive to all communications. He checked in prior to the event to ensure that our neighbors with food sensitivities were going to have what they required. And, the day of the event was easy to work with. He brought his crew (his adult daughter) to assist. She was delightful:-) 5/5 stars for sure!
