Great experience! We ordered the Marcajete. I thought it was very flavorful but too spicy. Next time I'll order it mild. My mom ordered the Huachinango frito and it was EXCELLENT. Fried in clean oil. She's a fish connoisseur and knows her stuff. Not a lot of Mexican restaurants serve fresh Huachinango. I liked the flour tortillas, beans, and salsas. The white rice with veggies could use some improvement. Next time I'll try the Mexican rice instead. Our server Martha was the best! I loved their chilaquiles, however, it has changed flavor and items on the plate. For instance, they use to serve rice and beans and now it's beans and papas. I did not ask for a premium tequila, yet was charged $16 per margarita, which felt excessive for what was served. The ambiance is very poor--extremely basic and not pleasant to be in. Overall, it does not justify the menu prices. I eat out frequently and am familiar with fair pricing. I ordered a chicken tostada salad. The shell and chicken were acceptable, but the dish was bland, and the guacamole had virtually no flavor. There was no owner present, and the restaurant appeared to be run by very young, inexperienced staff with limited knowledge of food and drinks. When I mentioned that the margarita price seemed high and that I likely wouldn't return, the response was simply, "That's okay." I only normally come for my tias birthday and this year was the first time I tried the chile relleno and this is coming from someone who grew up on them and just couldn't eat them because I didn't like them. Just refreshing my love for this place. Been going here for 28 years now. Still delicious. My personal favorite the Jalisco burrito is still awesome. Two to go is now over $32 bucks. We ordered a variety of things , chips salsa took a little to arrive but were good. Salsa just right . They have others very hot and a pick de Gallo. I thought I ordered 3 crunchy tacos but out came 3 soft corn tortilla tacos . The waitress had no issue correcting it . Shrimp cocktail was ordered as well and albongnias ( spellcheck fail)soup which was real good. Nephews got carne fries . Lots of fries not a lot of meat but they said it was okay . I stumbled onto this restaurant as the sushi place near it was closed. I would say this place is A OK. I really love the ambiance of it! I wasn't sure if you order/pay first or if it was a sit-down restaurant. Once I figured it out I sat in the open area. The decor is really neat! The lighting, the plants, the openness, all of that was really nice. It was a gorgeous day, too, so winning! I am always craving Asada Fries, but this time I wanted to be a bit different. The young girl who took my order wasn't sure they could make them (off-menu?) but then a young man came back and confirmed they in fact could make them. I haven't had good luck with Asada at places yet so I chose Carnitas instead. It was pretty good! My only complaint was that the sour cream was SOUP (totally melted) by the time I received my order. The chips were tasty. The salsa was good and not too spicy (for me). The Sprite was very good. NOTE: I noticed the young man didn't charge me for my soda, he thought it was water.
