    The worst tasting jamaican food
    Leaney S.

The food is the worst food I ever have. It is a buffet but yet they charged you for what you get plus for what it weighs so a meal that would cost you $10 end up costing you $23

I don't even wanna waste my time to explain how bad this shit taste.
    Jenner F.

The food here is nasty as fuck ! I am very sorry and I'm not trying to be mean but apart from every restaurant food I ate in far Rockaway this place is by far the worst ! The food taste like Americans trying to cook Jamaican food. I am from the Caribbean born and raised and I know for sure this is not what Jamaican food taste like. The staff is okay but the food is Nasty. If it's not sweet it's salty. If the chicken not cleaned good it's undercooked. It's always something. I tried to give this place chances but I swear it never works out.

    A variety of great food
    Chaniqua T.

The food is really good here but the customer service is OFF! They have a great variety of food and drinks. The place is a little too small for my liking, they have a sitting area but it's just too close to others getting their food.

    the location of the restaurant
    Rockaway E.

The food here is good. You got the traditional Jamaican dishes as well as other food selections to choose from. Wide variety! They make their own patties too. The place is a little on the expensive side but I would say it's worth it.

An absolute pleasure!…read more The amount of choices left me in disbelief. Frog legs to stone crab... noodles to rice... beef to chicken. An absolute feast that is well worth the money. However, when we arrived, nobody was at the front counter, so we walked to the inside counter to ask to be seated. The front desk guy clearly just came in for his shift since he was hurrying on his cell phone, carrying bags and had his jacket on. He came over looking very busy and disheveled, and when my mom politely asked if we should wait here to be seated, he rudely responded, "Well if there's no one at that counter then you come to this counter if you see the sign." Meanwhile... there was no sign saying that when we left. My mom was just asking a simple question, so the attitude was unnecessary. Just because you're stressed or running late doesn't mean you take it out on customers. F him for being rude to my nice mom and never coming to this place again. As for the food, it was pretty mediocre overall, that experience left a bad taste. The sushi selection had a good variety, and the desserts were honestly the best part. They have a chocolate fondue station plus vanilla, matcha, and swirl soft serve ice cream machines. At least the place was clean. Also, the waitress gives you a parking discount before you leave, so don't forget to ask.

There is nice music playing but low enough for conversations to be had. The staff was quick in clearing the table of finished plates and quite attentive. Now the food, 70% of the food was good, tender meats, sushi was decently fresh. The other 30% was unappetizing, the dimsum was sad looking and lacking variety, oyster grilling station took forever to cook, the crabs were lacklustered and didn't taste fresh. Also I'm guessing because of the promotion, a lot of items left off the menu (no snow crab legs, or abalone to name a few) Overall for the promotional price, definitely worth coming to try, better than most buffets in the city and the positives outweigh the negatives and you will definitely leave full.

I wash it all down with sparkling water with lemon (it's listed as soda water on the menu). And YES, I get EVERYTHING I just listed--don't judge me! LOL. They also have plenty of other options besides seafood, so there's something for everyone. The ambiance is casual, laid-back, and clean. This spot is always busy, especially on a Friday night, but the food keeps coming out. There's plenty of room to dine, and it's also a good place for groups. My only complaint is the waitstaff. Unfortunately, they haven't been very friendly during my visits. I've given this spot several tries, and so far, even asking for your choice of beverage sometimes feels like you're bothering them. I'm not sure if they're tired, overwhelmed, or what the deal is--but I'm really trying to hang in there for my seafood! On the positive side, the host at the door always greets you with a smile and pleasantly takes you to your table. I'll definitely be back because the seafood keeps calling my name. I'm just hoping my next visit is as people-friendly as it is food-friendly!

We ended up at our neighborhood buffet, which has been around since my high school days. There's something nostalgic about walking through those doors again. I'd fully planned to snap pics and do a proper foodie breakdown (charged my phone and everything!), but once we were seated, all bets were off. The food? Not five-star, but it's fresh--and that matters. The high customer turnover keeps the trays rotating constantly, so nothing ever feels like it's been sitting. The fruit station gets points for presentation--everything looked washed and vibrant (though I gave a few pieces the side-eye just in case ). For under $30, it hit the spot. Not a gourmet experience, but perfect for a low-key, satisfying outing. It's nice to have a go-to place that's stood the test of time, and still delivers on value.

My mom mistakenly took one dinner item - a little piece of salmon, not even a whole serving - onto her plate (mind you, they switch to dinner DURING lunch without really telling anyone, which can be very confusing), and the waitresses ganged up on her and were extremely rude to her, even after she explained she didn't know and it was by mistake. One of the waitresses went as far as to take the fish off her plate. What kind of abysmal treatment of a customer is that? It was an ACCIDENT. You don't take food off of a customer's plate and throw it in the garbage right in front of her face! Is it better to waste food and subject a customer to humiliating treatment than to just nicely explain to her what foods not to take and just let her have the little piece of fish? I will never return to this place. Absolutely terrible and rude staff. Don't ever go here, go spend your hard earned money somewhere else. And shame on you, all the staff that work here.
