Today I have to say my food was very underwhelming. Me and my son ordered an oxtail plate. When we arrived home and began to eat I was not happy at all. The oxtails were as tough as rubber, the portion size wasn't like usual the young lady made my plate very sloppy and I noticed this when she was fixing my food but I didn't wanna complain. However when I called in to let them know that the meat was tough all I got was an I'm sorry and they had just came out the pot when I arrived. I will never shop here again. I can't believe my last review was 2 years ago. We went back and the food is still outstanding, the portions are still massive and the service is still fantastic! I stuck with my usual, a medium brown stew chicken, there were no plantains which was a bummer, but not a deal breaker. The Fiancé got the oxtail & 2nd meat option, with brown stew chicken! Yes, the plates are pricey, but lets be for real folks, when you flip open your styrofoam box, YOU GET YOUR MONEYS WORTH!!! The small downside to the brown stew chicken, the meat falls off the bone while in the hot tray thingy, so you do have to pick threw some bones, but its worth it, chew slow and savor the flavor lol. The only thing I would change is the amount of cabbage provided. I LOVE their cabbage & would love to have an extra scoop or two! We also got a beef patty with coco bread! Fresh & delicious! First off all, neveR again. We went in to order two to-go meals: large oxtail and lunch curry chicken. Both meals with cabbage and white rice. And a side of Mac n cheese. The styrofoam to-go plates are the kind with the two small square and one large portions built into the container. USUALLY, cabbage goes in one of the small sections. Rice in the large section. And the meat goes in the other small section and overflows over the rice. Right? Riiiiiiight! But not here. She poured my cabbage over the rice and used the small section for my extra side of Mac n cheese. (Huh?) Then, the overpriced oxtail went in the small section and was no where near an appropriate amount for the price. There was no overflow of oxtail since the rice was already covered with...yes, the cabbage. Ok. So, maybe it's just me or is it bbq sauce but the oxtail doesn't taste like oxtail. I also ordered two jerk Pattie's that I sadly demolished before even leaving the parking lot. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and the portions were just enough for two people to share one plate. I paid about $30 for two Pattie's and a full plate. They have plenty options I highly recommend you try this place out if you are in Smyrna and are craving a comforting Jamaican meal. The restaurant is more of a take out style so they have a few chairs and table to sit down and enjoy your plate if you wish. With that said this place is authentic...yes the menu prices are not up to date...haa you lucky ya got an online menu, and yes they don't scream " welcome" when you walk in. The food is authentic, it is tasty, they give you great portions that you will pay a lot for. Reminds me of home. Jamaica Mi Krazy opened in Spring 2012 in a small strip mall on Spring Rd, not too far from Cobb Parkway and I-285. This small Jamaican restaurant has some very good jerk chicken and oxtail, but I think the food is a little overpriced. There are $5.99 and $6.99 lunch specials, but the only meats you get to choose from are brown stew chicken, curry chicken, and fried chicken. The brown stew chicken and the curry chicken consist of small, bone-in chunks of chicken soaked in sauce. The good stuff is on the regular menu, where combos are priced at $8.50-$9.50 for a medium combo and $10.50 to $13.50 for a large combo. Menu items include the aforementioned jerk chicken and oxtail, baked chicken, curry goat, and stew peas. You can get any three meats for $15.00. They also sell roti, fish, and shrimp. In addition, Jamaican patties (beef, chicken, veggie, spinach, jerk) are only $2.00 a piece. These seem to be the best value. Sides include rice (different varieties), plantains, mashed potatoes, steamed cabbage, yellow yams, green bananas, and more. There's no tap water, so if you want water, you'll have to purchase a bottle of Dasani for $1.00. Most of the food is already prepared and sitting in a serving line next to the cash register. The medium combo is plenty of food for one person. It includes rice and beans (or just white rice -- your choice), steamed cabbage, and your meat. You can also get gravy poured on top. I like the oxtail gravy, even with my jerk chicken. The jerk chicken is very good, perhaps some of the best I've had in Atlanta. Yes, it's that tasty. The meat is quite tender and the skin/seasonings flavorful. They did an excellent job with this one. The oxtail is also pretty good. Oxtail has a fatty, tendon-like consistency, so it's not for everyone. The sauce they use for the oxtail has a unique, aromatic, and smoky flavor. Some what indescribable, but it's savory. I recommend both. If you're looking for a hearty snack, try one of the patties. They're like Hot Pockets, but much better and freshly made to order. The beef patty seems to be the most popular. The consistency of the beef inside the bun is finer than taco meat. Service is good. The meals are served instantly off the line in Styrofoam containers with disposable silverware. The restaurant is small and not entirely conducive to dine-in eating due to the limited amount of seating (a few small tables and bar-height seating around the windows). Jamaican pop is blasted over the speakers, so it can get loud in here. There are also a few TV displays showing CNN feeds. read more
