I have been coming to Sequoia Sandwich Company for many years, and as an elderly customer who has supported this business for a long time, it really hurts to say that I left feeling disappointed, uncomfortable, and frankly disgusted. What upset me the most was watching employees handle food without gloves, including handing food to dine-in customers, while also working the register and doing other tasks. Seeing someone handle money, touch the register and other surfaces, and then go right back to handling food without gloves was extremely upsetting to me. I understand that employees have many responsibilities, but as a customer, I should not have to sit there wondering whether the food being handed to me has been handled in a clean and sanitary manner. I came in expecting to enjoy a meal from a place I have trusted for years, and instead I found myself feeling uneasy about eating it. Maybe some people will say I'm being overly concerned, but when you've been a customer for many years, you notice when things don't feel right. Basic cleanliness and proper food handling should never be something customers have to worry about. It genuinely saddens me because I have supported this business for so long. I don't want to see a place I've enjoyed for years lose sight of something as important as cleanliness and customer confidence. I sincerely hope the owners and management read this and take it seriously. Please pay closer attention to how employees handle food, especially when they are also handling money and touching other surfaces. Your longtime customers deserve better, and I deserve to feel comfortable eating the food I am paying for. I left feeling more than disappointed, I left feeling let down by a business I had trusted for years.

I got the small roast beef sandwich, picked my toppings, and even got a pickle on the side. By the time it took me to drive to the location, my order was ready. Friendly staff was quick and handed me my sandwich. The restaurant looks comfortable and clean and I would not hesitate eating in. West Coast sourdough is a good choice for sandwiches you can count on.

Just three dry, joyless sandwiches that tasted like they were assembled by someone who lost a bet. And special shoutout to Kenny V, the employee working the counter. My guy looked like he was running on 2% battery life, three hours past when the phone starts begging you to plug it in. He had that "mentally on airplane mode" energy -- eyes glazed, soul clearly clocked out, body barely hanging in there. I wasn't sure if he was taking my order or just trying to remember how much fentanyl he took. It's impressive, honestly. Three separate sandwiches, three separate chances to get it right, and they said "Nope. Consistency matters. Let's mess all of them up." For $50+, I shouldn't need to BYOC -- Bring Your Own Condiments just to make the food edible. Do better, please. My taste buds and my bank account are still recovering.

I've picked up a few cuts of meat here and each time the staff has been very friendly. Today, I picked up a steak and asked for some pointers. The gentleman (I wish I got his name) was friendly and knowledgeable. About a week ago, I picked up some of their marinated chicken breast. I believe one was a garlic and herb and the other was their signature marinade. The garlic and herb was very nice and could easily be paired with any green vegetable. I asked about their signature marinade to get an idea of flavors and they stated it was like a Mexican polo flavor. I made it with some white rice and it worked out really well. The chicken breasts were so thick! You could easily filet them and double your amount. They also didn't appear to have the white lines that I see in the supermarket chicken breasts. I've read those are due to hormones in the chickens. Is it true? I don't know. They have a nice variety of cuts and if you like sausage, they have several flavors! Definitely worth checking out. The shop isn't very big but they have pretty much all the basics you would need if you're planning a BBQ or a simple meal for you and your family. Overall, the shop is clean and tidy. This is no fault of theirs, but whoever designed that parking lot, well, lets just say they didn't consider larger trucks driving through. The parking lot layout for that entire area is just wonky.

I arrived around 5:15pm and there were a couple of cars in the parking lot. I expected to see patrons in the seating area however, it was empty. Their hours are 6am to 6pm so I felt kind of bad showing up 45 mins before closing. The staff was very kind and friendly and didn't show any signs of being bothered that I was there. I was out by 5:30 to take my food home. I ordered a Jr. Cheeseburger for my son, nothing on it, just meat and cheese. I didn't specifically say "no sauce" so it did have some thousand island type sauce on it. Honestly, my son had no idea and ate almost all of it before he opened it and saw it and suddenly didnt like it. (He liked it, he just doesn't like things to be different) perfect size for a child's burger. A little bigger than a McDonald's burger. My husband ordered the pastrami which comes with pickles and mustard. He added Swiss cheese and says it could have used a little more than what they added. According to him it was good, but nothing remarkable and it had plenty of meat. No negative comments. I had the bacon cheeseburger which came with chopped lettuce, tomato, pickles, and that Thousand Island type pink sauce. The burger was good, it had the taste I was craving. That flat grill char really hit the spot. My burger was drippy. There was one large tomato slice that fit the entire burger. I had to drop some of the lettuce out because it kept falling out anyway and I wanted to have more of the other flavors pop. There was about two slices of bacon and only 3 pickle chips. I personally love pickles so I would ask for extra next time. I also ordered a large fry and large onion ring to share. I preferred the fries over the onion rings but both were good. I like BBQ sauce with my onion rings but I was not a fan of their BBQ. I don't know how to explain the flavor. It was a runny sauce and had almost this Mexican spice flavor to it. I mixed some ranch with it and I liked it better that way. I also ordered a piece of baklava. They said they get other from someone who makes it at home. Risky? Maybe. Worth it? Oh yeah.

Okay, so is a little bit out of the way, but it's a fast drive, and if you live on the westside of town it's faster than driving into downtown. The onion rings are amazing, perfect, they don't fall apart, so crispy and golden. You can get a shake, they are made with soft-serve and syrups, but still really yummy. My top picks are the onion rings, fried zucchini, burger and green salads. All are diner-style. And don't forget, they have breakfast too! The staff is so kind and welcoming and exemplifies the motto of "service with a smile". I even accidentally dropped my tray while bussing my table after eating and they helped me and were so nice about it, even though I felt like such a klutz! I appreciate their kindness and not making me feel bad about the mess.
