Best burritos ever, the carne is so fresh, so cheap! Nice employes, best staff. 10/10 Recommend!

Meh, it's ok. They cook the meat right away which is cool, but when did burritos start only coming with guacamole and salsa??? It seems like all Mexican food places are skimping out on everything we love. I ordered my burrito with sour cream and cheese, I don't do onions and since it only came with things that had onions I substituted other things. Well they don't do that, they charge you $1 each to add maybe .25 worth of sour cream and cheese. I had to take apart my burrito to even see where the cheese and sour cream were. If you're going to charge me $1 each at least put $1 of each item on my burrito. Overall, not worth the price. read more

I love their rolled taco special & mini tacos. Mmm...my favorites. Tamales are very good though I wish they were bigger. Small family owned, which I prefer to buy from. Bare bones, but very clean, which I appreciate all the time, but especially in these times. read more

Lol far from meat market. I saw this on yelp figured I would give it a try since it might be cheap and it's closer than Ralph's. I walked in and it smelled like meat was left out. Looked at the meat sure enough it was lifeless grey and looked like select meat but priced and marketed as choice meat. The selection was between a New York, skirt or ribeye, I think I remember chicken?? I asked the butcher can I get some good and fresh meat in the back he said of course. Brought it out, still looked like crap ugh. I figured whatever I'll try it. 2 -10oz ribeyes and total at $30. Ugh I thought in my head I might as well have gone to Ralph's. I get home have hubby grill them, sit down and eat, and it was like beef jerky but medium rare lol. It's a cute small business and wish I could give them more service but quality and selection sucks. read more

This is my favorite California burrito I have ever had. Their ingredients are authentic and can taste how fresh they are. Their Cali burrito is huge! Could easily feed two, I always compare it to the size of my forearm. I have been going to this place for over 11 years, everyone that I bring here can't get enough of it. For me...salsa is what makes a good burrito, and this salsa is so good that every time I'm there I buy some to take home! read more

This place is delicious. Best Cali Burrito in San Diego. The carne asada is cooked on the grill right in front of you. Big tortillas that hold all the meat, cheese, sour cream, fries, and guac. I drive from Mission Valley on my lunch break to eat here at least once per month. The salsa roja is my favorite. Nice and spicy. I always purchase one to take home. The owners are very kind too. Arguably one of the best and underrated taco shops in the area. Most people don't realize there is a taco shop even here, but definitely serves some of the best tacos and burritos around. Probably since the meat is fresh from the meat market portion of this place. Huge selection of different types of fresh meat, fish, cheese, and tortillas are available for purchase here, as well as all the usuals of a little market. Everything is fairly well priced too, whether you are buying food from the taco shop or by the pound from the counter. The service has always been very friendly as well, and I've been coming for years. Highly recommend the garlic chicken from here, and the monster burrito is perfect for anyone looking to split a Cali between 2 or 3 people! read more

Tried it because the other taco shop up the hill in Jamul is overpriced and undersized on portion- glad I did. Got the Cali burrito - excellent. And too big to eat in one sitting. Been here a couple times since and I always have lunch the day after with the leftovers. They have fresh meats in the case as well if you prefer to take it home and cook it yourself- tasty and pretty cheap too. I would definitely recommend. read more

been looking all over east county for good burritos. I've Lived right down the street from here for 2 years and today i finally tried it. Burritos are HUGE! and the prices are great. Got a double California burrito for $7.25. The fries were cooked really well, the meat is good. Overall everything was awesome! The environment and people who worked there were friendly. The Monster burrito is amazing! I bearaly ate half of it and that was a challenge. A friend told me if i wanted a big and good burrito to come here. This place did not dissapoint. Just went today for my third visit and I must remind myself to come visit more often. I've had tamales, tacos, beans, delicious salsa, and many other things, and everything has been great! My family and I have been coming here for years. They have amazing pan dulce, empanadas, and of course, their carniceria. Jamie is so nice and helpful, the rolled tacos are really good and so are their tortas. I wish their guacamole was a little thicker and creamier, but I'll still eat it with some tortilla chips! I love their guac, but personally I think their salsa is the best! Also, their whole chicken is amazing if you're having a BBQ, dinner or big party. My dad is a teacher for little kids and he always gets piñatas there for end of the year parties. Overall, they're just so nice and their food is very tasty! HUGE burritos! Their California is even bigger and yummier than Saritas and all the right stuff is included: carne, sour cream, guacamole, french fries. They only have red salsa, which is OK. The checkout is confusing-remember to pay at the front counter, not where you order. They close early at 7:00, not a 24 hour taco shop. I have only been once, but will definitely be coming back! read more
