They wanted 400 dollars in the estimated repair cost JUST to use the diagnostic tool to figure out what's wrong DURING a full and complete 200 dollar inspection that's supposed to tell me what's wrong with my car. I will never ever go to a dealership again for as long as I live. when I went to pick up my car they just gave me a few pieces of paper stapled together with generic vague short details about what could be fixed on the car with a 7,000 dollar estimate. I was ready to purchase a new 2026 Civic Sport and explained my process upfront: send your strongest itemized out-the-door offer by email. No test drive needed. No dealership visits to negotiate. I would select a dealer and come in to complete the purchase. After reviewing offers, I politely thanked Mitch and told him I had selected another dealership. His response: "I could've done another 2k off. No problem thanks." Apparently, another $2,000 became available only after he lost the business. I gave him an opportunity to put that statement behind an actual quote (with the sole purpose of calling his bluff, because I already wasn't buying from him). I asked for the revised itemized total and any financing or incentive conditions, saying I would consider it. Instead of providing the quote, he replied: "The best deal is in person." In other words, he was lying (no surprise). He would have had me come in, sit me in the lobby for 2 hours, and try to hide all of his costs elsewhere. There's a reason I buy cars the way I do. That exchange speaks for itself. He raised the prospect of substantial savings, then responded to a straightforward request for written pricing by pushing a dealership visit--the very thing I had explicitly ruled out from the beginning. I wasn't asking for special treatment. I was asking for a clear price on a car I was prepared to buy. This approach cost him my business and left me with no confidence that visiting would be worth my time. I have already placed a deposit on the dealership that won the bid!

They brought me out a proposal for a car and when I made a counteroffer offer I was asked if I like waisting my time. He came back with a quote for a different car and not even the one that we opened up the negotiations on. Well they let me leave so I guess they did not want or need my business. I went to Findlay and bought the car I wanted 3 days later and I couldn't be happier. Findlay even went out and found the car I wanted and brought it back to their lot for me. Final Update: After…read morefinally getting in direct contact with the General Sales Manager, Chuck, I was able to fully express my frustrations regarding how I was previously handled by both the representative and the salesman. Chuck took the situation seriously from the start. He acknowledged my experience, made it clear that this was not how they operate, and stated that this was far from the values of both their dealership and Chapman as a whole. He immediately took action. Chuck personally looked into everything and went out of his way to make things right by ensuring I was placed in a vehicle that truly met my needs. He arranged for me to work directly with one of his trusted salesmen, Andrew, and made it clear that when I arrived, I would be handled exclusively by him--no confusion, no runaround. From that point forward, the experience was a complete night-and-day difference compared to what I dealt with before. The level of professionalism, communication, and respect shown by both Chuck and Andrew completely turned the situation around. I genuinely appreciate the time, effort, and accountability Chuck showed in taking control of the situation and making sure it was handled properly. I called AAA for a tow, the driver noticed what he thought was a nail and asked if I wanted air instead. I drove straight to the Ford service dept quick lane, which happens to be so close to my house, I could throw a rock and hit the parking lot. Josh came out with a smile and remembered my call. My vehicle was taken straight back and was in and out in 45mins. Turned out it was a small piece of metal, not a nail and I was able to leave with a patch, rather than a $300 tire. I was very leary of purchasing pre-owned as I have heard so many horror car buying stories of shady salesman, selling faulty vehicles and lacking clarity about the true vehicle condition, so I started my research. It took me close to a month of research, before I found a preowned dealership that still honored integrity. I knew the cars I was interested in and found my way to Goldie's. I was working with another dealership, as I had been pre-approved, but let me tell you what made the difference.. the service at Goldie's ! Through text and email, John, my sales-friend, (I call him) was so relatable and communicative. Walking in I have to admit is pretty cool, in the show room they had a old school IMMACULATE Corvette, a skew ball machine, and arcade games it felt unlike any other dealership I had walked in. The owners son greeted me and asked if I needed anything and to let him know if I did! He was the sweetest teenager. When they say Goldie's is a family business they really mean it ! I was working with John and let me tell you he was so transparent and honest it was like a breath of fresh air. I had considered other vehicles they had but he talked me through the maintenance cost, resale value and common mechanical issues each of the cars I had considered. Once I settled on a vehicle he was able to check for me the maintenance records as well as reviewed the carfax report with me. When I took the car for a test drive he told me to take my time get to know the car and make sure it was right for me. I never felt pressured to purchase. I was having a horrible time in dealing with the insurance payout of my previous vehicle and John was very empathetic in understanding my situation. He had set expectations before I came that with the insurance payout being delayed I may not be able to take the vehicle the vehicle home. I was thrilled with the no pressure atmosphere, and just came to take a look at the vehicle in person, with zero expectation to buy. John and his manager worked magic. I did in fact decide to purchase my vehicle and was able to take it home, there is a small cosmetic issue that I requested to have repaired and he called immediately and got the approval to get it taken care of. I'll be returning later this week to have that completed. I'll keep you guys posted after the service appointment. I had a great experience and I feel I got a good deal on my vehicle and, I felt like my business was valued, my concerns were heard and they've made a lifelong customer out of me !
